And the Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and The Wind Waker versions only got kidnapped in the end of their own games, getting caught off guard. Phantom Hourglass has her rushing headlong into danger without backup. The Twilight Princess version surrendered to Zant, fearing for Hyrule's safety. And the Breath of the Wild version wasn't kidnapped at all, but is directly fighting against Ganon.

To add to that, the Spirit Tracks Zelda's _body_ gets kidnapped, while her spirit becomes Link's partner and helps Link throughout the game, and she is easily the most useful companion Link has had in any Zelda game. At the end of the game, it's her and Link _together_ that beat the final boss and plunge the sword into the villain's forehead.
The thing that sucks about this review,
is that when it came over to the UK they swapped Critic’s nunchaku for a grappling hook.
They also called it Thirty Something Movie Critic. Apparently Nerd is a curse word in Britain, don't ask me.

For the first split second I read the word thirty I thought it said thirsty. I frickin' cracked myself up at that, "Thirsty Something Ninja Critics." God.
James is approaching 40, isn't he?
I never got why the turtles were so big in this movie. They looked like Rocksteady and Beebop. In the cartoons they were shorter than April. They were between 4"9 and 5"2 which made more sense why it would take all 4 fighting at the same time to take down their biggest opponents. It also made sense how they could sneak around the sewers and go unnoticed being small. I think they might of been even smaller in the books, like between 3 and 4 ft.
Between this and the Xmen flicks, it's like being short is a no- no.
Hollywood refuses to hire any little people other than Peter Dinklage or Warwick Davis, so they decided to go for taller. that being said even the live action movies had her height, which i definitely didnt mind, but yeah 6+ ft turtles is a bit overboard... which is expected, it's a Michael Bay movie.
I didn’t mind. At this point we’ve left the realm of realism entirely, we have a team of turtle Bros who walk on two legs and know martial arts from their rat sensei/dad.
@@BenDowdy If you're referring to Wolverine, it was a case of acting over appearance; I don't think anyone will argue that Hugh Jackman wasn't perfect for the role... in every way other than being a full foot taller than the character. They tried to make him seem smaller in the first film with different camera angles, but it really didn't work so they gave up.

Okay I call bs on the book crap. I’ve watched the shows and movies(except these for good reason) and plenty of things were changed but one thing that stayed pretty much the same was that Splinter already knew Ninjitsu before meeting the turtles. In the early series the reason is because he is Master Yoshi mutated into a rat, in the movies he learned ninjitsu from Master Yoshi. That part was essential to the how the turtles become Ninjas and Bay’s way around that is a freaking book?
That's the only flaw of the film

I they would've stayed with the source material, it would've made sense that Splinter knew Japanese (He was a pet of a Japanese Lord) & how Splinter knew Shredder (Shredder was an enemy of Splinter's Master).
Now that I think about it, the only time Splinter is the ninjitsu master and not the pet is in the 2012 and 2018 shows

"Just a big giant toy commercial..." I suppose the same could be said of the Transformers, He-Man and She-Ra and the Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe, Ghost Busters, and so many other ideas and concepts that were popular with kids during the 1980's and 1990's. Heck, when figurines and action figures of video game characters finally came out, like Mario and Link figures... and then the Mega Man action figures based both on the silly cartoon and those closer to the actual concept art for the games - I wanted those too - even in my adult years! Funny, and yet this video is so true about growing up in the 80's and 90's with the cartoons, games, and toys... and then comparing new concepts of each to our memories of what we had growing up. Thank you for this entertaining, and yet somehow insightful, piece of commentary Angry Video Game Nerd and Nostalgia Critic! You guys are both awesome.
If they made a game about the critic and the nerd and set it in the teenage mutant ninja turtles nes game. I'd play it. hell id buy it (with in a reasonable price range of course)

In the IDW comic the turtles and Splinter are the reincarnations of Hamato Yoshi and his four sons that were kill by the Shredder, also they're reincarnated animal forms were in a lab were April worked (like in the movie). And that make the fact that they know the ninja arts more believable that this movie.
God that elevator scene is the best. Especially with all the clips of everyone dancing to the beat
I never saw the films just because the turtles look so ridiculously big compared to the previous versions.
I'm not a fan of TMNT (don't hate it, I just didn't grow up with it), but I have to say I thought that one scene in the elevator was fun.

Cause I think it would be.

My favourite versions of the turtles was the CGI animated 2007 movie and the 2003 tv series.
The 2007 film was an animation treat and the portrayal of the characters was how I remember them from the 2003 tv series with a slight darker tone and I loved Raphael's nightwatcher side story.
The 2003 tv series was a Saturday morning cartoon done perfectly with a unique style and some really cool action sequences and characters.
If Sonic can have a make over why can't the TMNT's?

True. Sonic and Pikachu are perfect examples of how to make animated characters look easy on the eyes in live action.
Because the people who were making the sonic movies were humble enough to take criticism, no matter how harsh. Michael Bay on the other hand has a huge ego so he wouldn’t even consider criticism in the first place.
This was before Hollywood realized that making an adaptation exactly like the source material made money
Actually, they should have a makeover after this. Since they got Sonic to look like the game version instead of an anorexic weasel, make the Ninja Turtles actually look like Ninja Turtles instead of shelled toads on steroids.

I saw this movie with my wife when it was released. It was a New york theater at midnight and the place was completely empty. It was a vacation from Edmonton, Canada and it was fucking amazing to see the TMNT with my beloved, while in New York City in the opening weekends! The experience was amazing and the film is definitely not bad for a turtle movie.

let me stop you on criticizing the scene in the van when Vernon asks if they're aliens. I thought it was great of the writers to have them talk shit about Michael Bay's original lame ass idea which was to have the Turtles be aliens.
Apparently, that wasn't actually his idea; his idea was to have the ooze be alien in origin and he just badly communicated that in an interview or something like that.
@@matthewmuir8884 yeah, I don't believe it. Because the Ooze was originally alien in origin in the comics so that wouldn't have been HIS idea. I think that was Bay covering his ass because the Turtles being aliens sounds just like some dumbass shit he would come up with.

So, you guys comment on the fact that this movie made Splinter learn martial arts from a book written in Japanese.
But the fact that in the original cartoon Splinter was a HUMAN that was mutated into a rat, and in this movie they made him be a rat who was mutated into a bigger rat, doesn't bother you at all?
Not to mention that splinter was originally in the same clan (in japan) with shredder, and that shredder betrayed him and got him thrown out of their clan.
THAT was the bigger slap on the face for TMNJ fans and not that he learned martial arts from a book.
Not that it makes any sense, it was indeed really stupid.
