- This video explains how to calculate your gpa in college. You need to determine the number of credit hours for each course the points for each letter grade. Multiply the credit hours by the letter grade points to get the quality points. Your grade point average is the sum of the quality points divided by the sum of the credit hours.

My only confusion is, how do you count the F? I know it's a zero for points, but what about credit hours? My transcript shows 0 for credit hours, but obviously an F has to affect my GPA somehow. Do you put in the credit hours it was supposed to be? So if your class was worth 3 credits but you got an F, it's 3 hours and 0 points? I'm asking because my current undergrad school offers grade forgiveness so my GPA does not reflect my F's as I have retaken courses, but the graduate schools I am applying to do not offer grade forgiveness and I want to know what my science GPA will look like to them. Also- is a W counted the same way as an F? Or is that just nothing, and just shown on your transcript? I used a GPA calculator but it was not doing it right.

@@shipshrekt2156 Some colleges will only let you take a class two times and if you can't get a "C" or better, you may have to change your major. While other colleges may let you take a class three times and if you are unsuccessful, change your major or got to a Community College and take the class then transfer the credits in.
Number one, some colleges may only let a student repeat a class only two/three times. The second restriction is, if the student does not pass the class after two/three times, he /she must talk to a counselor for further guidance.

I'm in college in Quebec and we don't use the GPA system (we just have grades in % and calculate the average) but I used this to calculate my GPA. 4.0 for my first semester and 3.9 for the second one. :)

In my college (in India) max gpa is 10. The grades have _weights_: O-10, A-9, B-7, C-6, D-5, P-4 and F-0. And instead of hours, we have _credits_. Rest is the same. (finding the weighted mean)

Check with your school, most of them will advise you on that matter, and you probably want to get A's or B's at very least, but is entirely possible, you can do it champ

As long as you have a gpa 3.2 or higher you’ll be good for 85% of all colleges

Don't think so, its the same point system, but credit hours are effectively all 1

If you searched it up you don't have a 4.0 gpa
FYI there’s no PE or GYM class in college.

Someone with an A in calculus would never get an A in gym.
This a easier way to memorize. Add up all the numbers of your grades. A=4 B=3 C=2 D=1 F=0. And divide by the number of classes you have.
I don't think this works though, as some classes contribute more to your GPA than others depending on how many credit/hours they're worth. For example, where I go to school, gym is worth 1 credit and science courses are worth 2.66, which means that science courses affect my GPA 2.66 times more than my gym classes.
