Today, we continue our “guitar safari” with a look at one of Joe Bonamassa's favorite axes, the Gibson ES-345. The 345 and 355 are famous for their stereo pickup configuration and Varitone circuit, which is a six-position control with a rotary knob that allows you to switch between different predetermined frequency scoops, altering the EQ of the highs, mids and lows.

Totally agreed on leaving it stereo/varitone. If the guitar is otherwise intact, leave it alone. They sound great and a 335 can do the mono thing, if that’s what you want.

I DONT OWN a Gibson 1959 BLONDE ES345 like Cardinal Bonamassa But I hav The next best thing.A Gibson 2016 custom shop Memphis #153 out of 200 Freddie King ES-345!! In either mode Stereo or Mono this guitar sings.i left it 100% stock.
