Great video! I have had my model Y Tesla 2 years now and love it ! Agree with all you said about yours. I’ve never camped in it so I will definitely check out your videos. I have a detail person that comes to my house too but charges me $75 to clean my car. You have a good deal at $45! About charging, I have a charger in my garage. Instead of charging overnight before I get dressed I’ll go out in my night clothes and plug it in and by the time I’m ready it’s charged. It’s rarely run down too low. I am retired and 74 and go every where in it. ❤
Absolutely agree with your comments! My Model Y has done only 3000km and love absolutely every km! Love the channel and look forward for more to come! All the way from Sydney Australia.
@@taylordencermedia You were right Taylor, kept manifesting it and finally got my Model Y LR. It is a 2021, but was babied and totally looks and feels brand new. Look forward to going anywhere because I get to drive it. lol. Thank you for putting it in my head to manifest it. Definitely took me a while. If I had purchased new, would have used your link!
You registration fee is, at most, $175 additional for an EV. The bigger cost is the value of the vehicle when purchased. If you bought yours a year ago, the price was likely between $55,000 and $60,000. (Depending on options, etc.) Comparing that to a Civic which is about half the price, you will see the higher registration fees. They’re supposed to go down each year (value of the vehicle), but it is an insignificant amount in the scheme of things. Related to the $175 (max), I think it’s a typical bogus tax that the California legislature came up with by pulling things out of their behinds. The rationale is that EVs are not paying a gasoline tax and are therefore not contributing to road maintenance/repairs. Though there is validity in that, the “one fee fits all” is where the logic breaks down. In my case, I have just over 1,000 miles over the last year on my Y. So, very little wear and tear on the roads from me. Comparing that to your 13,000+ (I think that is what you said.), you’re actually ahead of the game assuming a 40 MPG car. Gas tax for that mileage would be ~$185 over the last year which puts you at a $10 savings from a gas tax perspective. In my case, I’ve lost ~$162 over the last year. This is, of course, assuming that 13,000 miles is solely in CA.
@@jbhorner thanks for this detailed breakdown. I do think it’s silly that they charge more based on the value of the car, simply because my car would affect the roads in the same way at 1 yr old vs 5yrs old. I understand that since I’m not paying gas tax then that would make sense. But still just seems stupidly high! Anyway…what can ya do 🤷🏻♀️

Who in your family did you convince to purchase a Tesla?
my in-laws went with me to test drive before I bought mine, which made them end up wanting to go test drive and buy their own!
Prove it that the seats are easy to clean 🫣
This is a great video idea because I have a little scuff on the drivers seat that I could do a video on how to clean it 👀
I love you vid ❤❤
Thank you!!
