John,
Conversion rates for Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target, etc., are fairly low (approximately 1-3%) because you expect to redirect and they'll purchase in bulk after seeing other things they might need. To be fair, if people get interested in your items and follow a link, they'll likely buy other things.
That said, apply to specific companies. For all those implements you use in your videos... whoever manufactures them would like you to promote their stuff head-on instead of wasting time and money on billboard advertising that savvy viewers (e.g. your crop of enthusiast viewers) either click past or use programs and apps to circumvent.
You've been around long enough to get a foothold in this biz, so I can see you're already well-skilled. Good hunting!
It looked like you bridged a couple of pins at the end. When reflowing solder joints you should really use flux and solder especially on old joints as the old solder might not flow properly. And use something like tweezers on the pins before and give them a gentle nudge to see if they move a little, then you’ll know if there is bad joints.
It always starts so hopeful when the console is turned on and the Nintendo logo pops up :-)
That kind of startup screen is a classic sign of a bad fuel injector.
Water pump since it's a Japanese product.
He needs to clean his Carb out or it's a bad Fuel sensor.😂 The O2 level is too high for the intake.
Looks like you bridged some pins in the last part
No actually you had it correct the first time. Pokemon Gold is a Gameboy color game, not game boy original.
4:46---never heard riggs speak like this before lol.
Last video he said, "ya gotta scrub one out? I hear ya". I think his kids are growing up now so he's lessening his restraints.
I’d try cleaning board with over 90% isopropyl alcohol, properly wipe off. If you can, check to see if circuits are damaged by using multimeter. Always nice to see a repair video.
You're such a consistent uploader, and i've always loved your videos. Never stop please!
Remind me of a couple of years ago I bought a copy of Pokemon Gold and bugs Bunny's crazy castle 2. Pokemon Gold worked I just had to replace the battery on it, I had to go full open cart surgery on bugs Bunny's crazy castle 2 took about four times with the rubbing alcohol and a q-tip but it finally worked
Congrats on 200k, I have been watching you on here for most of that time actually. Anyways, the pins on the reverse-side of that cart looked dirty in areas and I guess a dead cart battery wouldn't affect the rom/game boot?
The solder flows easier, better with a bit of flux. Then u can prob just run the tip over the points
Always enjoy the videos
Looking forward to see John again at Pittsburgh Gaming Expo in October to welcome him back to THE BURGH. I met him for the first time last year at PGX and was very polite and answered any question I had but I made it brief only because I knew he had other things to do but much respect for getting the chance to speak to him last year and boy is he tall compared to my 5'8 frame lol.
You wouldn't have to worry about bridging the solder joints if you used some flux
I really love your video💕
you need to solder each pin with new solder and make sure the tip of the pin is covered so it will work. i've had to do that with gb, gbc, and gba games that didn't work. if after doing that it still doesn't work then the rom chip is dead
It is a Game Boy Color game, but it also works on the original Game Boy.
3:42 Is it just me or the back of this cart looks like a Capybara? ❤❤
I think the term you’re looking for is.. trust, but verify.. 🙂
Words of wisdom from the greatest president
Broken trace that leads to one of the pins maybe? But then that involves using wire to reconnect it so maybe a bit beyond your ability?
I got the gold that does the same. Won't save, maybe the inside battery is dead. Got blue version that won't even stsrt
About a year before it came out here in the US, I got a Japanese copy of Pokémon Gold
Didn’t know most of what was going on of course, but still had fun
So much fun that about two years later the save battery died 😢
You want to talk about spider eggs I had a complete in box copy of samurai shodown for the Sega Genesis and it sat in the same spot long enough. I think it was kind of like half opened, there was a literal pregnant spider in there with like an egg sac it was like a straight-up spider nest in samurai shodown. I remember I looked inside as soon as I seen it I just threw it.
That Gold cart seen better days
I manage to fix a copy of Gold that I was given by my school teacher. That would be the first time I would ever play a mainline gen 2 game.
It’s the battery. Ive had games not work, changed the battery and boom, like new
I still got Pokemon Gold.😀👍🎮
What forms of insurance cover Open Cart Surgery?
You forgot to try blowing on the game. 😂😂
There are a few pins bridged
Where do you mail the games for one cart surgery? Do you return afterwards or not? Thanks.
I have a copy of that but it has a bad board
What are your favorite stops (food/stores) in Syracuse?
take off the rom chips. there maybe a problem under the chips. that will either need cleaning. or some points that may need some bridging.
Send it over to Tronix.
Try the Flux Capacitor 🤔
Dr Riggs can you save all the Pokémon
You remind me of John Candy!
I've got Gold, Silver, Crystal, Red, Blue, & Green all on my Everdrive X3 for my GBC. Don't ever got to worry about that battery rot
🥲
Yeah see the flux inducer of the corroded pinsometer has golding around the solder heads! Duh !
You vastly under utilize your multimeter and waste time reflowing joints--poorly-- instead of investigating leads that are corroded or busted.
😌
If you want to make suggestions that are helpful, it’s certainly helpful to point out what they can do but it’s even more helpful not to be immediately critical of what they originally did. People are far more receptive to criticism when it’s given with care.
Cool story bro 👍
@@chrisb2ags John isn’t receptive to criticism of any kind or he would have used flux years ago.
