He has to be one of the best drummers ever. His muscle memory is so insane. He makes it look so damn easy.
The skill he has with percussive dynamics is a highlight here. While he gets everything hard and clean most of the time, he can make any sound he wants at any time. Extremely well rounded.
I am always in awe of El Estepario's kick arse drum skills!
EES is literally the apex drummer and he hasn’t even come close to hitting his peak ability.

@@OldSkuleNerd, I'm not a drummer but I can hear if it's on the beat etc. This performance is precision like I've never heard. Every strike was EXACTLY on the beat. Speed, with accuracy, EES says hold my beer. He also does something ridiculous, that fill, (drummer's comments) at 2:31 is not even rushed. He does a lot of things to show what can be done by a human. Ok, only EES can pull off this performance.
I also vote for blinding lights! Also, his Paramore Aint It Fun cover is loaded with cowbell i love it!

Wrong. The Miura was used in Panama, not here. This groove was made to MIMIC a Harleys exhaust.

I've been following El Estepario since he had like 90k followers and was doing double bass with the floor tom and KNEW he was something special. That's back when he didn't speak English very well. Watching him go from that to where he is now is such an inspiration. First he made me want to quit drums, but then after awhile I found he drove me to practice harder and be better.

Before the music starts, I first heard of EES by a reaction video I saw a few months ago. Showed up on my page feed by accident, I guess. That video was you, reviewing Everybody Dance. Thank you, now I'm addicted to the great one, EES!
I subscribe to El Es back in 2019 when I saw his single pedal cover of Dream Theater. Then Andrew Mooney started reaction videos about a year or so later.
I saw a Rick Beato snippet on El Estepario late last year. I checked him out (& I’m glad I did!). Great reactions, btw.
With out reading all the comments i assume most are feeling the same right now but yes this man has singlehandedly quite literally and sometimes doubly changed the face of drumming . The saddest part of this performance is Eddy is not around to listen to it . Also a Rush fan too , live outside of Toronto and seen them at the Maple leaf Gardens many times , so sad about Neal , as a drummer you can appreciate his talent , A life of tragedy , lost his daughter in a car accident , wife dies two years later from cancer , remarries has another daughter now he is gone , a giant whole left in the drumming world only he could fill .

All respect to AVH, one of the best and most underrated drummers of all time. Now, this cat here is just nuts. He has literally 15 fewer pieces than AVH did on his kit. Insanity.

I lost a good bit of hearing to that drum intro back in the 80s after throwing on my aunts quality over ear headphones on my cassette Walkman. Didn't realize I had the volume cranked as I was supposed to be going to bed, lights were off & that Harley Shovelhead thumping kicked in & had my ears ringing. Scared the crap out of me, but of course I didn't turn it down!
Couldn't tell you the first time I heard Hot For Teacher as I was raised on this stuff so likely Jan '84 as I would have been six & my parents in their early 20s.
It is interesting for drum covers, it was pretty tame in terms of what we are used to with from Mr. Siberiano. He paid of a lot respects to the original.
And it shows you JUST HOW HARD the original song is when he puts barely any embellishment into this, compared to the insanity he usually pulls off lol.
First time I heard 3:26 HFT I was like 5 or 6. Bout the same time my Dad bought my first drum kit. This song and video are part of me and my life.

First time I heard Hot For Teacher (and mind you, I'm only 28) was on my way to school with my mom. She's also a metalhead and the song came on the radio. Think I was about 14 or 15 maybe and I thought it was an actual sample of a motorcycle at first. Was immediately hooked on the song and to this day I still think Alex Van Halen is one of the most underrated drummers.
And the first video I watched of EES was his single pedal Slipknot cover of the song Eyeless like 3 years ago. Been a fan ever since.
It actually is an exhaust in the original song.

Every once in a while his fills through him slightly off time but it’s still incredible and he reels it back in.
I'm not a drummer, but I've always been a fan of great drumming and though I couldn't tell what he was adding exactly, it sounded extremely busy compared to the original in a lot of spots.

A reaction to a video posted half an hour before seems a little off.
I think he has the fastest hands and is one of the best drummers in the world. BUT….. sometimes I think he does a little too much in his covers. This one, however, he keeps close enough to the original but adds the exact right amount to make this his best cover ever.

He's still on point, but I think the tom, or the kick (I lean towards the kick) is... off or something. Think the rumble was lost. Lost the Harley sound in the start. *cries* His short he did a few weeks ago was so spot on I got chills.

I think I’m one of a few people that don’t marvel at this guys playing. He’s clearly got technique for days… but I definitely would rate Groove and placement over technique everyday, Always feel like this is the drumming equivalent to hamming up the national anthem to much.
