Relaxer Update #4 | New Relaxer Process | Done With Stretching

    Hey Guys! Today is my relaxer update number 4. I relaxed my hair at 10 weeks instead of my usual 12-14 weeks. Stretching is becoming more of an issue for me than a good thing , so 10 weeks is a perfect number for me. Also switching up my Relaxer process by completing the back of my hair and combing through it twice before starting the front has helped with the major under processed areas in the back of my head along with cutting my stretch back to 10 weeks. Thank you all for watching and your support !

    If the point of stretching is hair health, then stretching longer than is healthy is counterproductive. Good for you for figuring that out, and for not following the crowd. Looks great.

    Your hair is sleek. I feel you, relaxer stretching isn't easy especially for those who wear out their 'natural hair' unlike for those who do protective styles with extensions.

      I wear my hair out all the time I have no problems guess it depends on your natural texture. I’m going on four months post relaxing at six

    Great content. I stretch 8-10. 4c girl too. It works very well for me. I wear my hair out most of the time. No long-time protective styles. 2 strand twist and leave them in 3-4 days only. Hair grows just fine also use ORS. Keep my hair oiled. Your hair is beautiful.

    Great job. I relax at 5 to 6 months but my hair is 3B/3C and fine so my new growth is very manageable. My trichologist turned me onto using a Mizani mild relaxer and a normal for the front third and the back two thirds. No more under processing!

    I relax my hair once ever 12 wks. I section my hair and base my scalp, neck forehead and ears. I apply relaxer only to the new growth set my timer for 18 minutes and just rub the relaxer or massage it on the new growth. I love the way my hair feel and look. I also wrap my hair at night.

      @@aalexis112 African Pride for right now. Works beautifully by the way. It’s ok to use different no lye relaxers. The application process needs to be done carefully and correctly to maintain healthy hair. That’s super important!

    Beautiful hair hun.. I totally get what you saying about stretching bc I’m like you, it does more harm than good. 10 to 12 wks is my limit. Ive also been taking that same collegian. Being over 40 hunni, I need it.. 😁

    I can def relate girl. I’m 4c as well and I had some breakage after taking my braids out recently. I stretched for about 12 weeks and my hairstylist wanted to strangle me for even getting braids in the first place and then having them from February-May (not the same braids of course lol) knowing I’m relaxed. Contrary to popular belief, relaxed girls have to tread lightly using braids and sew ins as protective styles. If we do, we shouldn’t keep the style in for too long, especially those of us with 4 type hair in its natural state. I’ll be getting retouches every 6-8 weeks again.

    • @aalexis112
      @aalexis112  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Alexis! Great video as usual! Your hair looks absolutely stunning 😍. I just relaxed on Saturday after 6 months. My mom (aren’t they the best?) also helped me with my relaxer. She did the back and I did the front . . . a team effort 😊. I think I perfected the stretching though. Pre-poo with my Mane Choice/African Pride concoction. Wash day was actually every 2 weeks instead of weekly. I air dried a little and then finished with medium heat and no additional heat until the next wash day. That routine worked perfectly for me. Now I have to trim my hair. I even put in a rinse on relaxer day and shed about 5 strands of hair. So far. So good. Shedding used to be a nightmare for me due to over hydration. Glad that’s finally over! 😂 Looking forward to your next video. 😊

    • @karlad.8762
      @karlad.8762 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Itsgorgeouseverything It’s definitely a thing! I was using my steamer like crazy and adding in all of my oils to a conditioner that didn’t have any proteins. I discovered during the pandemic that my hair loves protein. Everyone’s hair is different. I needed some extra extra hard protein. Even the Affirm 5 in 1 didn’t work. Not even one that was specifically for Shedding. And not even a Tea Rinse worked. Once I found out that I wasn’t anemic and did some research, then I knew it had to be something else. I was contemplating collecting my shedded hair to use as a wig. I’m good now though. I started using a coffee/rosemary rinse and some protein drops. The shedding stopped immediately. ☺️
