My favourite grail unit is the standard Black Knight because he has some badass looking armour! I have him at +10 merged with sylvain shield, Vantage & savage blow for a, b & c skills & armoured boots for sacred seal. That’s my signature skill set for him. I also use him with valentines Lucina equipped with the armour March seal almost every time these days!
Ashnard and Petrine have been my core units since their release. I love their art and the roles the served. Only recently subbed them out of my arena team which felt bad, but i still use them quite often and looking forward to their refines!
Man, it's been ages since I +10'd a grail unit and now Zephia is finally encouraging me to do so. You had Kronya who was a popular merge project when she released but then you had the likes of Death Knight and Nemesis who’s Prfs were seen as DOA, Solon who played into the whole “gimmicky turn-based red tome GHB” meme and Aelfric and the Flame Emperor who were prfless. Things didn’t change until we got Jeralt and Holst and that was after GHB’s saw a massive improvement in quality (what I like to call post-Yen’fay)
@@JA-js8uk the quality of their prfs is questionable but the fact they were able to get a prf alone shows a bit of favoritism Flame emperor's lack of a prf is simple they're an armor unit seriously all of the free armors we have gotten have been prfless, BK and Zephiel don't count here "but Murdock?" but that's the thing technically Murdock shouldn't have gotten one neither Limstella but given how they were given to us at the midpoint of a book's story that can be interpreted as the devs giving us a free bone I also agree that yen fey was the start of the devs finally starting to care about GHB prfs especially towards the refine but of course not all got the best treatment some of the lance GHB were clearly set up to failure to promote the acrane lance
Although Zephia being arguably better than Aversa is a little annoying as someone who has her at +10, it is still very impressive that it has taken _this_ long for her to have some direct competition. Plus, as you said, Aversa does have her advantages over Zephia in terms of bulk and support, which I find useful in Aether Raids in particular, where HP stacking is a lot easier thanks to Mythic Blessings. Plus, I like Aversa more as a character, anyways.
I have Aversa on every team and I'm not afraid of losing her, especially since that tanking niche is still crazy good. I run her with Guard 4 and Atk/Res Menace, and with like 80 HP in AR, pretty much the only thing that can touch her is a stacked speedy blue lance like Flame Lyn. I usually send her off to absorb the last couple hits from whatever stragglers are left while I collect Aether pots, then the Menace skill lets her finish them off herself. Zelestia may be fast, but she ain't got nothing on Aversa's versatility!
Kind of wish it was Zelestia, but at the same time rather not have her be dumped as a GHB unit, and the way Zephia turned out is still pretty great. Lots of nice debuffs and half-NFU, plus I like Aversa as a unit, so I wouldn't mind building her up for different teams.
I hope it doesn't take long until our next Engage banner because I want the goat Hound member Mauvier to get in. He's just really chill compared to the evil Hound members and i think that's funny. I hope he gets a prf weapon
IMO if you have a fully invested Aversa, it's likely you can get more out of her than Zephia because she gets access to bulk she doesn't which comes handy in Enemy Phase with stuff like Ninjorrin and Legendary Male Byleth, both of which she can tank and destroy in retaliation. Regardless, Zephia is looking killer as an unit so I'll be building her too. And worst case scenario? She's Atk/Spd Catch 3 fodder and you can never go wrong with that given how rare that skill is to begin with.
She's pretty good for an offensive mage flier with those debuffs, and half NFU isn't too bad for her. Plus, she's got atk/spd catch at 4 star, which is pretty good if you want to build her up or fodder her. I'll build her up for sure.
She seems pretty fun to use. Thank you for the review and builds=) I hope she helps people to beat Limited Heto Battle map, cause I know many of the players have only a few Engage units=(
A few? You should have a full team by now. Etie was free from quests, Lumera and Zephia are GHBs, and male Alear was just given out for free. That’s a full team of 4 right there.
I’d use her if I didn’t already have a maxed out Aversa, but I’m glad with the age of units quickly outclassing one another I’m kinda glad Aversa still has her uses lol😅. I think Aversa still has her niche of really being able to tank hits and has been able to even get surprising kills when most units would die in retaliation
As an Aversa enthusiast, I dub her "Glass Cannon Aversa." She can't tank nearly as well without the HP focus or built-in Atk debuff, but the natural speed and Windsweep support gives her an edge in raw power. I plan on building both... if only she weren't red too! Makes me wish for a WoM seal even more, though the horrors it would unleash are probably not worth it...
Would you ever consider a video idea going through support units/support skills? L!M!Robin has spoiled me too much and now that I want to use units that don’t synergize with him I have gone completely blank as to who use for stat buffs or any other support they can give
Definitely building her up, she's got a lot of good debuffs, and I always love it when IS gives ghb units skills like atk/spd catch. She's like a better Aversa, but I'll still use both regardless.
I’m more of a Zelestia fan (actually I like all of the Four winds including Nel and Nil, hope they join Feh soon 🙂) but this is 100% a +10 merge. I’m curious to see the amount of debuffs in total I can get with that doubler effect. Without a doubt it’s gonna be really annoying for enemy players 😂
I’m so surprised we get a free unit with half NFU in weapon, that’s what surprised me the most, tho I am far more excited about catch 3 available, feels like I’m free since I saved a lot of catch 4 fodder
Pretty solid flier all things considered. Even though I have strong NFU fliers like Summer Byleth and Summer Erika, Zephia still has her uses for her offenses. I’ll upgrade and build her up.
We often joke about FEH increasing the chest size of certain characters. This however is the first time I see a characters chest get bigger across the different arts for the same character.

I think Zephia is a great unit, but the biggest problem with her is the fact that Aversa exists and that almost everyone has her at +10. If she was a different color it would ve better but shes putmatched by Aversa being out longer.
Sepia/Zephia is seriously one of the best GHB units!!! She's gotta be my favorite villainess grail unit in Feh since Aversa! Plus coming with A/S Catch, Windsweep and an amazing perf is just perfect! Definitely gonna be my next grail +10 project after I finish Effie who's at +6 rn. And I'll be one unit away from a full +10 Grail team!! Dragon mommy!!! 😂
An excellent unit to use for the Limited Hero Battles going on right now that want you to use only Engage units. Especially for those who don't have a good number of Engage units in their roster -- on the plus side, she seems fun to use.
If she was blue or green I'd +10 her in a heartbeat. But I have a maxed out Resplendent Aversa already. My next project will likely be one of the colored 3/4* daggers or a dragon, since I have an Arcane Grima to pass around thanks to the Brami Remix banner.
She's hot so I'll probably build this character. Didn't really give a shit about engage but there are definitely some good looking characters like yunaka, ivy, goldmary, lapis, citrinne, celine, chloe and this aversa lookalike. Everyone else is a autoskip
Of all the grail units, I built up Jeralt the most, utilizing a spare Fallen Gustave for his A and B skills, and then some random unit for Rouse Atk/Def 3.
Aversa's problem is that despite being global and debuffs much harder, she rarely hits anyone these days because so many units got Canto on them, spreading everyone after a single Reposition. And it gets worse if there is one single unit left, making her basically useless if it's against a recent unit. Which I already think is unfair because the enemy can have Reposition without losing scores, but I can't. Pft.
I'm surprised you didn't mention a speed preempt build. One Brave Byleth gets Zephia Atk/Spd catch 4 and Spd Preempt. I know she's more offensive since she has only the offensive part of NFU but giving her some better defensive skills could really help in PVE or catch people off guard in PVP 🤷
I don't think she has that kind of one shot potential and she can't trigger specials through preempt like many very good preempt users. It can be an option for sure but I think it's pretty niche and other options doubling down on player phase can help more IMO :o
I'm more asking for my own education, but do modern fliers still need duel 4 skills to reach optimum scoring? I was thinking by this point all the tier 4 skills and BST creep would mean it wouldn't be needed. Thanks to anyone who can help me understand this!
As someone with a maxed out Aversa, it kinda hurts to see Zephia hit 60 attack and 50 speed even without summoner support. She would love the offensive NFU as well. If Zephia was a different color I would probably build her but not as it stands.
Just to add a side note to this. If anyone plans to use trait fruits/ascend stats for Zephia. Make sure you make her _true_ IV +Atk, and ascend her to +Spd. The reason for this, is that florets do not affect your BST/scoring for arena modes. So while atk is a superboon it will only universally raise BST if you trait fruit it (or naturally summon for other types of units) And it's futureproof. Especially with the BST and +5 dragonflower bump coming very soon. Even if you don't "plan" to use trait fruits or florets but are using the other, it'd be best to ascend spd, or to trait fruit atk. Even tho spd is more optimal. Why? Well if you change your mind down the road... And say you used fruits on spd (skill issue lol 🤭) and then you ascend her attack, the thing is... You can't switch them when you use a floret. Only when you use trait fruits can you swap IVs around, including with the floret. I have experience with doing that a couple of times. And that would cost 200 trait fruits. Big waste imo. With other units, it's not as big of a deal. You could summon for the desired IV and the floret would naturally go to the right stat I believe, if you tried merging a +spd to a +spd🌹. Pretty sure it goes to the highest base stat after HP, and goes down in order. Yeah you can't do that for Grail units unless they are Ver 4 or earlier and you somehow got that specific unit from Binding Worlds with the right IV. Most ppl would probably ignore this. But it's good advice, and well.. I'd have no sympathy for you if you willfully ignorant/ don't wanna read
I think as someone who hasn’t merged Aversa at all, Zephia is in a lot of ways the better investment, Aversa is encouraged to be built more tanky, and her resplendent stats boost her in that too, but imo both units can accomplish that, it’s just that Zephia needs a way to debuff Atk in order to do so, but once the skill comes out, she could run something like Chill atk/def 3 and get the atk and def debuff for her allies within her own kit. I also think that debuffing for -6 instead of -4 makes penalty doubler effects a lot more impactful. While the fodder isn’t easy to come by, Zephia with Panic smoke 4 doesn’t lose out on very much compared to Aversa considering that panic smoke 4 also debuffs all stats for -3, Aversa could a lot more shamelessly run a different C slot, but she’d like panic smoke 4 too, she just gets less out of it assuming her effect is triggering. Offensive NFU and Zephia’s higher speed are also pretty big advantages imo. All of this and she’s also pre-refine, which will only matter like 3-5 years down the line, but also means she has better long term potential.
When ur engage roster is all red. Im considering building her since i need more units for the different franchises. I wish she was blue tho. It would add more variety to the enage team and i have no citrinne or celine
The fact that she can panic based on hp% means it's free panic for abyssal maps. Which is a huge f2p boon. Already got her at +2 and slapping her on a lot of teams.
I have a question PM1. I noticed that you're getting a low amount of Asian players when playing summoner duels. Do you think it has to do with the time when you're playing? When do you usually play?
I'm glad she doesn't completely dunk on Aversa. I've had a +10 Aversa for ages and she's super useful, and it just feels bad when new units come along and clown all over units you already have! So that said I will build and use her, but she isn't going to be a huge priority for Grails yet.
Zephia is solid but Chloé hard counters her to oblivion. Easily beat the 5 star 40+ Zephia because Chloé tanked the magic attacks, being a blue unit with extremely high Res. I like Zephia, though. I'm glad I was easily able to get her by using my buff Chloé lol.
Zephia will be part of the mean girls club with Hilda (FE4), Petrine, Ursula and Cornelia. Too bad, she isn't a green tome though. Luckily I have a spare SDelthea from SoV hall of forms banner for her ready.
Me when Zephia is actually good and I actually lack a speedy sweeping red mage: 😊 Me, realizing when Griss comes out he is likely gonna be an infantry red mage that’s gonna be Atk Res focused, an already over saturated pool and knowing I wanna build him for horny reasons: 🤡🤡🤡

Honestly if she was a blue/green tome I’d build her and try to get her to my 64/65 Atk for my team comp but cuz of the red I don’t wanna have her AND Ewan for my main fighters lol but I think she’s still amazing for people who want a good F2P mage and I think she’s gonna be a good character for anyone who wants to make a good character for arena and maybe even aether raids or summoners duel 9/10 unit glad she’s got what she’s got
Really annoyed their has to be a comparison to Aversa when she was meant to be a support unit but her refine focused on combat instead of doubling down on support
I really wish they had been more creative and not just done 2023 Aversa. At least it lets me use her for catch fodder without worry. Like at the very least make her a different color come on.

I still wish she had an adaptive dmg Sword, or at least a blue tome. Since the only magic she ever uses in Engage is Thoron.

At long last, Atk Spd Catch 3 is finally part of the grail pool! And it's even available at 4 star rarity unlike most of these types of skills too!

That's why I run her with Atk/Res Menace. It solves every problem she has and makes her into a true steel cannon.
I'm surprised you didn't mention a speed preempt build. One Brave Byleth gets Zephia Atk/Spd catch 4 and Spd Preempt. I know she's more offensive since she has only the offensive part of NFU but giving her some better defensive skills could really help in PVE or catch people off guard in PVP 🤷
I don't think she has that kind of one shot potential and she can't trigger specials through preempt like many very good preempt users. It can be an option for sure but I think it's pretty niche and other options doubling down on player phase can help more IMO :o
I'm more asking for my own education, but do modern fliers still need duel 4 skills to reach optimum scoring? I was thinking by this point all the tier 4 skills and BST creep would mean it wouldn't be needed. Thanks to anyone who can help me understand this!

As someone with a maxed out Aversa, it kinda hurts to see Zephia hit 60 attack and 50 speed even without summoner support. She would love the offensive NFU as well. If Zephia was a different color I would probably build her but not as it stands.

I gave her panic smoke 4 and have been using her in a team with Duo Mark, Yune, and Plumeria. Very very funny debuffing team

Just to add a side note to this. If anyone plans to use trait fruits/ascend stats for Zephia. Make sure you make her _true_ IV +Atk, and ascend her to +Spd. The reason for this, is that florets do not affect your BST/scoring for arena modes. So while atk is a superboon it will only universally raise BST if you trait fruit it (or naturally summon for other types of units) And it's futureproof. Especially with the BST and +5 dragonflower bump coming very soon. Even if you don't "plan" to use trait fruits or florets but are using the other, it'd be best to ascend spd, or to trait fruit atk. Even tho spd is more optimal. Why?
Well if you change your mind down the road... And say you used fruits on spd (skill issue lol 🤭) and then you ascend her attack, the thing is... You can't switch them when you use a floret. Only when you use trait fruits can you swap IVs around, including with the floret. I have experience with doing that a couple of times. And that would cost 200 trait fruits. Big waste imo. With other units, it's not as big of a deal. You could summon for the desired IV and the floret would naturally go to the right stat I believe, if you tried merging a +spd to a +spd🌹. Pretty sure it goes to the highest base stat after HP, and goes down in order.
Yeah you can't do that for Grail units unless they are Ver 4 or earlier and you somehow got that specific unit from Binding Worlds with the right IV.

I think as someone who hasn’t merged Aversa at all, Zephia is in a lot of ways the better investment, Aversa is encouraged to be built more tanky, and her resplendent stats boost her in that too, but imo both units can accomplish that, it’s just that Zephia needs a way to debuff Atk in order to do so, but once the skill comes out, she could run something like Chill atk/def 3 and get the atk and def debuff for her allies within her own kit.
I also think that debuffing for -6 instead of -4 makes penalty doubler effects a lot more impactful. While the fodder isn’t easy to come by, Zephia with Panic smoke 4 doesn’t lose out on very much compared to Aversa considering that panic smoke 4 also debuffs all stats for -3, Aversa could a lot more shamelessly run a different C slot, but she’d like panic smoke 4 too, she just gets less out of it assuming her effect is triggering.
Offensive NFU and Zephia’s higher speed are also pretty big advantages imo.
All of this and she’s also pre-refine, which will only matter like 3-5 years down the line, but also means she has better long term potential.
She looks interesting as an unit. I am thinking about building her up for different modes.

The fact that she can panic based on hp% means it's free panic for abyssal maps. Which is a huge f2p boon. Already got her at +2 and slapping her on a lot of teams.

I'm glad she doesn't completely dunk on Aversa. I've had a +10 Aversa for ages and she's super useful, and it just feels bad when new units come along and clown all over units you already have! So that said I will build and use her, but she isn't going to be a huge priority for Grails yet.
Zephia is solid but Chloé hard counters her to oblivion. Easily beat the 5 star 40+ Zephia because Chloé tanked the magic attacks, being a blue unit with extremely high Res.
I like Zephia, though. I'm glad I was easily able to get her by using my buff Chloé lol.
Zephia will be part of the mean girls club with Hilda (FE4), Petrine, Ursula and Cornelia. Too bad, she isn't a green tome though.

Zephia is now one of my top 5 favourite Fire Emblem villains besides Zelgius.
So, this means that Griss and Marnie will be GHBs while Mauvier is a summonable unit, similar to the Four Fangs.

B: Atk/Spd Far Trace 3
C: Soaring Guidance
Seal: Atk Spd Solo 3
NFU means I can run her with windsweep and it works like Agneas Arrow, right?

Tier 4 Duel is 180 bst, while Tier 3 Duel has 170.
Duel 4 brings it up to 180 BST and 300 SP passives bring it to 185 BST.
