When you tour through these cemeteries it always makes me realize how fortunate and blessed we are to be among the living. Thanks for trekking through that wet, slippery terrain,Sue.
Most of the world lives in poverty & lack of good health care. Many are aged & in chronic pain. I think many look forward to their eternal life with Christ Jesus.
Lovely cemetery Sue, love the cross on the Barry grave, so beautiful and the cross that's looks two tone from the rain. So sad to see so many babies and young people. There are so many beautiful headstones, both old and new. Thank you for taking us on a walk with you. Love and God Bless. Take care ❤
Thank you so much Sue for braving the wet muddy conditions so we can remember these people with you. It's very sad to see so many babies died so young, they are remembered and visited by their families as we can see. It is a fact that in London prior to the 60's most newborn or very young babies were never buried in cemeteries. This is because it was a hush hush situation as mist babies were born at home and midwives were not allowed to leave the babies with the parents. Their bodies were taken to the hospital morgue for disposal in most cases. Sadly this is fact, as it was classed as being the parents fault for failing. Disabled or disfigured children were also just left to one side to die naturally in a home birth. Thank goodness we are more educated nowadays in these matters. On a brighter note you did a beautifully in remembering them. Blessings to you 💕🇦🇺
Thanks Liz, oh we had a terrible time in Ireland too, babies who died before their baptism were not allowed a burial inside a graveyard or cemetery they were if at all buried in mass graves outside the graveyard, how awful..we listened to and followed what we were told back then, God's love would never turn a baby away...no parent should ever Bury a child 💔
Hello dear Sue, what a beautiful cemetery. I love how people are allowed to decorate the graves, here in Florida, they usually remove it. They dont understand the cemeteries are for the living too. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us❤
Beautiful cemetery, Sue, I love how families can decorate the Graves there. Wish we could do that here, I think it helps those who grieve. Bless you, Sue!
Like 176 Baby luke grave is beautiful we buried our son reece when only a baby too in 2002. This graveyard yard is kept really clean. Some beautiful headstones.
Ahh Fran I'm so sorry to hear of your baby Reece's passing, very hard for a parent to go through that..RIP little man, I find it so hard to read the headstone of a baby and harder to walk away ❤
Hi Sue! Thanks again for a great video. I'm guessing that Billy Whelan of Potts Point in Sydney, New South Wales was of Irish and Japanese descent, hence the combined flag on his headstone. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪
@@SerenitySueGraveyards Yes, I think he was a young man with a sense of his heritage. Some Aboriginal Australians who are also of Irish ancestry fly a flag that is divided diagonally. The upper half is the Irish tricolour and the lower is the Aboriginal flag. I've seen it at some AFL matches. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪
Love how they can leave flowers on gravel. We have grass here and they remove the flowers to mow the lawns. Beautiful cemetery. You must be in great shape with all that walking! Thanks
Oh Liz I'm not, I suffer terribly with back pain and always suffer afterwards, I'm trying to get back to my pre Operation stage when I was smaller and no pain, yes we are very lucky we can do that here ❤
When I was in Germany in 1973 Munich to be specific I was so amazed at how nice and up kept kept up their cemeteries were and the ones you showing tonight remind me of that
Oh Sue how very beautiful is this Cemetery...And its so sad with the little babies passing away so very young. The way that everyone is remembered and their resting places are kept is the most wonderful thing I have ever seen ❤
What a beautiful mix of old and new grave stones. I am still just so amazed and impressed with how the graves are marked and the memorials included. RIP to all. 🙏🙏🙏
Great walking tour Sue and GV, thank you very much. Beautiful cemetery, and the graves look well cared for. Is it the custom in Ireland 🇮🇪 that most graves have a stone border surrounding the grave plot, and little stones cover the top of the grave? Thank you very much again, take care.
@Serenity Sue Yes, you are. Here in the United States 🇺🇸 most graves do not have a stone border, and I have not seen one yet with little stones as a top cover. Only grass, and nowadays, it seems most headstones 🪦 are flat, to help make trimming and mowing easier for grounds crews. I did find that one grave with the work boots 👢 for plant 🪴 holders interesting. Thank you very much for getting back to me Sue, have a great weekend, you and GV.
The most beautiful cemeteries are in Europe. In my home country of Poland on All Saints day every grave is lit with hundreds of candles. Beautiful. We live in the US now & cemeteries seem so cold & made for convenience of cutting grass rather than respect & memory of our loved ones.
I have seen some from Poland on youtube, so beautiful, I love the cemeteries in US but prefer the mausoleums over there but I completely understand what you're saying ❤
I have never seen such beautiful Headstones in my life. Such a good way to honor those that have passed before us. We are not able to have such elaborate markers and graves in Canada. My roots are in Ireland so I'm finding your site very interesting. Thank you.
I'm new here but thanks to faces of forgotten. I'm of Irish ancestry, but never been to the homeland. My paternal grandparents arrived here in New York in 1907 with 4 children fromBelfast. My father was less than a year old.
i was born and live in England but I believe some of my family are buried in this cemetery. They were called Shortle . Not a common Irish name but I think they were living in Wexford and Kilkenny in the 1800s and before.

Ahh Dena, I'm sorry for your loss ❤❤
Thank you Sue. Another beautifully kept graveyard. Headstones are just wonderfully done as well.
Thanks Betty ❤❤
Beautiful cemetery...so well kept....sad about the babies' graves. Thanks for the stroll. ❤
So many babies there and so very sad for families ❤❤
Love looking at some of the newer ones. Old ones are interesting. New ones catch my eye though ❤️❤️❤️💚💚
We decorate so beautifully here ❤❤

Yes I love that we can add personal touches and leave flowers and plants, it's so very important and I believe it helps with grief too ❤❤

Yes it was very nice to see this just wasn't too sure on the lower flag, maybe he spent time in Japan too, it was nice to see both were remembered ❤

Beautiful memorials all personal to family ❤❤
@@SerenitySueGraveyards American graves are rarely if ever that nice or decorated. Some cemeteries even discourage even putting flowers in the grave.
That's so sad ❤
Your cemeteries are so beautiful, love the way you can decorate the graves ♥️
We are so very lucky ❤❤

Yes the graves have a kirb, some choose little pebbles some choose grass, we are very lucky we can decorate as we choose

Ahh that's terrible Janice, doesn't seem fair, sorry for your loss xx
So beautiful
Thanks Deirdre Rose ❤❤
I wish they would let us decorate like that at our cemetaries.
We are very lucky here but I do think we are running out of space here and feel there will come a time we won't be able to ❤

Hi Joyce ❤❤thank you
Stevens work boots though....💙
❤❤so sad ❤❤
Hi sue.. loved the vid .
Thanks Mandy ❤
i was curious. is there a reason the graves have gravel placed on top?
Hi that's normal to put gravel on graves over here.
We decorate with gravel, very normal here, we get to choose the cut the type and colour, I've seen green, black, white even gold on my walks ❤❤
I love the gravel, I remember as a child I was fascinated by the stones, I thought they were rubies or a precious stone back then ❤❤

I know Shortles in wexford
It would be lovely if you could tell them their English relations often think about were we came from .,
