    Try a leaf blower instead of an electric pump. It saves tons of time, the SIB gets blown up in seconds and you just top up for 2mins with the foot pump. Really easy when fitting the floor as well and it's super low faff

    • @MuscleFishingOfficial
      @MuscleFishingOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers for that, not sure how it would go over the valve but my SIB is permanently inflated now so luckily not much faff apart from parking the trailer and finding places that accept them 😅

    Almost done the inflating right. Its very important to bring the tube with the pressure releave valve on pressure first (the front tube in your case). This enables the bladders from this tube to expand into the other two tubes (left and right bladder). Then you can bring the other two tubes on pressure. Now, when the tubes heat up by the sun, all the 3 tubes can expand and release pressure by this one pressure release valve. No one seems to know this and it is not mentioned in any user guide i know of.

    I've the vanguard 365 lovely boat. I've pop riveted clips in the floor at the front which hold straps (like in seat belt strap but with buckle) i put rubber mats down with double sided tape which can then hold the battery / fuel midship. One thing i don't recommend the seyvolur pump. The hose is fairly thin and it split on my maiden voyage. Luckily I could put my finger over the hole. The company never replied to my email and it was quite expensive for a replacement pipe. I rebuilt the pipe with pond pipe but invested in shark 2 pump (which also deflates) I also found seyvelor was inconsistent with pressures between chambers. Keep up the videos and hope you are all OK from the video where ya was hit :(

    • @MuscleFishingOfficial
      @MuscleFishingOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning, sorry for the late reply it only just came through. The rubber mats are a good idea. I have been fine with this pump at present but the deflate option is must really if transporting deflated. Mine is on a trailer now. Thanks for watching and maybe see you on the water soon

    Thanks Jake, this video is a huge help. I'm looking at getting into sibs this year so I've learnt lots here.
    I was looking at excels but may veer towards the hydrus as I can get an air deck and alloy deck to swap over when needed. Unfortunately I can't trailer mine so alloy deck for when I've got help, air deck when solo seems like a sensible choice 👍

    • @MuscleFishingOfficial
      @MuscleFishingOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good morning. Absolutely not. Your current SIB may be doing this because the water outlet valve (drain plug) has been either left open or faulty. Check this first. It’s easily done. Hi I'm trying to research everything I need to get into sea fishing on inflatable boat. I don't have crazy money so for me it be a process of saving buying boat. Saving again buying engine for boat. Then the radio distress flares has been suggested as important and it's them things I'm trying to learn what you need to go out there prepared and safe. I've been watching a couple of your vidios which are great but wondering if you have like a basic raw knowledge of what you got to do and get to be set up to go out in sea thankyou. Going to subscribe as these vidios are great for me where you really breaking down information and what your doing and showing. Hi Jake, ive just been watching your video its great thanks. Im after some advice if you could help.
    Im very new to sibbing, and have recently purchased a Tobin Sports inflatable boat (from Costco). Its 3.3m long with a inflatable keel (the sausage keel) and air deck.
    The recommended psi is 3.5 for the tubes and keel, and 5psi for the air deck. Ive been told by others that this seems quite low compared to other sibs. I have a 9.9hp on the back.
    When i tried the boat last weekend for the 1st time, it was fine at low speed, but when i opened the throttle the boat seem to almost porpoise (im told thats the term) and the engine seemed to struggle. Again im told thats cavitation and ventilation. I thought it was fully inflated, but possibbly not. And the sausage keel appeared to be leaning more to one side. I then deflated the keel, managed to get it more centre and inflated everything again tonthe psi. It was better, but the cavitation / ventilation issue was still there at increased speed.
    I have been advised to ensure the air deck is under the lip of the transom (which it wasnt), and potentially inflate the keel higher than the recommended 3.5psi. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    • @steveboyle3611
      @steveboyle3611 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's also been suggested to me to increase the psi in the air deck also

    • @MuscleFishingOfficial
      @MuscleFishingOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good afternoon, thanks for watching. I found SIBS at higher speeds especially mine to react weirdly and it would sometimes veer. I assumed it was my driving style at the time (new to outboards) however I found out now the model I had was renowned for it, pressure is very important. Having that keel central and fully inflated is really important. I wouldn’t go much above the recommended pressure. However when the keel hits the water it’s subject to cold water. This will reduce the pressure as the air contracts, so pumping up a little over may stop that. Unfortunately I cannot remember what mine was as now have a more rigid boat. Hopefully a little bit of overinflation may help!

    • @MuscleFishingOfficial
      @MuscleFishingOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good morning, first of all you need to decide whether you want a air deck (lighter) less solid ride but quick set up time. Or ally floor (more robust, better for fishing). Have a look at all the different brands excel, honwave, hydrus. See what boat takes your fancy. Each boat has its positives and negatives. Outboards a decent 4 stroke that compliments your boat nicely is suggested. Main dealer websites for the SIBS and then a decent outboard stockist like power outlet. But many other stockists are excellent, a local dealer is always good as they are there for repairs, questions etc

    Enjoyed the vid...about to pull the trigger on an Excel sib...but having nightmares about the benefits of air or alu. I will be inflating every time I use it. Thus deflating every time. Tell me an alu floor is worth the hassle once seaborne ? 👍🤔

    • @MuscleFishingOfficial
      @MuscleFishingOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I have been on both and I much prefer the ali floor. And if your SIB isn’t that big with 2 of you they are easy enough just to lift up the beach. If your doing full long days out then I’d say the Ali floor is superior. However if short trips and lots of solo outings maybe the weight of a air floor is more beneficial
