I’ve watched so many videos on this over the years and this one has by far helped me most!! Thank you so much. First watch I could do runs I could never do before. Been practicing this a lot
Great job, Lisa! Thank you. Stevie Wonder is the king of runs. You can listen to pretty much any of his songs. Was listening to Fun day recently and was blown away by the beauty of his runs. With him it sounds so natural. I wonder if there's any technique there.
I can't do runs longer than 3-4 notes... feels like I get lost or stuck on an ascending or descending run,, whereas many pop singers go up-down-up a few notes... so frustrated :((((
Me too! I was looking specifically for runs that are 5 or more notes in 1 direction quickly and then more stuff off of that because I am having this exact issue
Wow! Taking this idea and running with this principle for a year could pretty much make anyone a pretty good singer. Most simplistic and beneficial lesson I've ever come across
Thank you! I ruined my vouce smoking and drinking for quite some time and I'm working on getting it back into shape. I used to be able to do runs so effortlessly but, this is what happens when you take your gift for granted. Its coming back though and your videos are so amazing! 😄
In my opinion, this is great. This lady and another one on youtube have significantly improved my singing, based on feedback I am gettin in public and my own recognition of the improvement. I am older than you so practice regularly (for short sessions) and you will likely make gains.
I love the way you have simplified this down in steps. I realise that focusing on the individual notes soon brings it naturally into your vocal phrasing and that with practising I may make my singing more interesting. I sing jazz so I'm looking at inspiring singers who use riffs and runs. Nice Elvis song used to inspire though.
How often should I practice the exercises? I can't seem to pull them together very fast without smooshing them. I lose the control. Will consistent practice help with that?
OMG thank you so much, that was so clear, helpful and fun! I was just listening to Laufey's Goddness song and the line "when the glamour wore off" -- the word "wore" has the slightest run, I was confused if it was 2 or maybe 3 notes, and it was driving me crazy how to do this clearly, but slow and steady, and clear notes is the key!
Just discovered Singeo channel. If Singeo creates a course made up of vocal exercises I'd have to buy it unless it's added to Pianote as a course or training pack. Any of those options would be awesome!
can u upleeease help me with the down run on ariana grands song tattoed heat. the down run on "name" i cant get it i got so flat or just blark i dunno what notes shes singing

I completely understand your frustration... Hang in there, if you just keep doing it you WILL be able to do what you want. Best of luck to you!
I feel you, take the run you want to emulate, and slow it down inyoutubes setting

I don't like the word simplistic but definitely agree with what you say here.
