Good for you for accomplishing what you have, you should be proud of yourself. That’s a big deal dropping out in 9th grade to now being in college. You’re heading in the right direction
You’re the only reason I’m on A-B Honor Roll. Every subject is school comes easy to me; except math. Math is the only class that stresses me out and the only subject that makes me study for 2hrs at a time. I’m really happy my teacher last year gave me this channel.
In the 90s, as an R&D Test Technician, I used y=mx+b in data acquisition hardware to graph literally thousands of data points, but never bothered to learn what the DAQ software's math was doing. I just plugged numbers into the y=mx+b equation, generated data matrices, exported them to MS EXCEL and the graphing functions gave beautiful results. Now I know exactly what I was blindly doing for 20+ years. Back then, the "DAQBook" was the size and weight of a 90's ThinkPad and cost $2,500. Now I do the same job in monitoring my garden light, temp, and moisture with a $120 Data Acq. DIN rail unit the size of a deck of cards and it is all powered by USB 5volts.

Here is how:- If you just think of a pretty basic equation like, x+2 = 6 Now to solve this what we do? We just subtract both sides by 2 right ? Let's do it then, x+2-2 = 6-2 => x = 4. Now in the equation you said we can also solve it like, 2x+y = 3 => 2x - 2x + y = 3-2x [subtracting both sides by 2x] => y = 3- 2x. Now to make it to y = mx+b form we can re+write it as, y = -2x+3 Hope you get it dawg.👍🏻

one question, I may be super lost but why does it become negative when you move it over? 1:00
When it is moved across the equals sign the sign will always change. Whether left to right or right to left. Whether if its negative then change to positive. If it is positive then change to negative.
Here is how:-
If you just think of a pretty basic equation like,
x+2 = 6
Now to solve this what we do? We just subtract both sides by 2 right ? Let's do it then,
x+2-2 = 6-2
=> x = 4.
Now in the equation you said we can also solve it like,
2x+y = 3
=> 2x - 2x + y = 3-2x
[subtracting both sides by 2x]
=> y = 3- 2x.
Now to make it to y = mx+b form we can re+write it as,
y = -2x+3
Hope you get it dawg.👍🏻
you subtract 2x (-2x) from both sides

Been asking my self, "what the hell does the " m " in" mX+b" have to do in the equation or formula?" Tysm,now I know!
In this part 3:31, where did the 1 come from in rise over run? 😅
For the fraction -2/1 is the same as -2
Pretend 6 is a regular number
Rise= Numerator
Run= Denominator
To make 6 into a fraction just simply make it improper
6/1
Another example, 3/4
As stated for rise and run, rise = 3 and run = 4
