@Tin Chak Xu 😭😭we were supposed to learn in 8th grade but my teacher gave us all the answers to everything and never genuinely taught us anything so i didn’t learn how to slope until the end of freshman year
@Tin Chak Xu basically, he didn’t show us how to do it, and instead gave us all the answers because he got paid based on how his students were testing that year. If he had atleast gave us the formula, or explained the formula it probably would’ve been easier to figure out🧍🏽♀️
@Tin Chak Xu bro i’m a junior now, it’s literally not that deep lmao i don’t use or need slope formula anymore. i was also 13 and grades don’t matter in middle school, no one genuinely cares about this as much as u do. i promise it’s not that important lmao

Hello, thank you for the video. At 6:26 how is the change of X 2? Ex: -4 -2 = -6 how is it 2? What am I doing wrong in the formula of slope: slope = change in y/ change in x slope = -1 - 0 / -4 -2 slope = -1/ -6 how are we getting: slope = -1/2? Thank you.

You are correct. Slope can, and usually is, different for different linear functions. In other words, two lines have two different slopes. But in a single linear equation, slope is a constant.

Hello sir. Thanks for the clip. A quick question that I've had for a long time, if you don't mind. For the negative slope, why do we indicate that the Y value is moving down when from another perspective one would say it is moving up from right to left. Same way, why can't we also say that the X value is moving from right to left and should rather be assigned the negative sign (for the movement) and not the Y. Notably, since in the positive slope the X seems to be moving from left to right, are we saying even on the negative slope, the X is still moving from left to right - could it not be said to be moving from right to left this time round? And how are we able to tell this from how the lines are drawn or marked (see second question)? Secondly, if the negative slope moves down from left to right, why don't we have the tiny arrow at just the bottom end but rather at both ends? I understand that this is to indicate that the line has no specific starting point but in terms of viewing the line as moving downwards (as we are taught) and not in either direction (upwards from right to left or downwards from left to right), it becomes confusing and begs my first question. Appreciate some feedback for a confused learner. Thanks!
That’s a great question! With a negative slope, You can move from left to right, Or right to left both will work. Both should give you the same slope. The difference is that if you move from left to right your x (run) value is negative. And the y(rise) Value would be positive.
