Totally normal, most calc students have not seen slope in many years. It doesn't mean you can't master calculus, or reflects upon your intelligence in any way. Just so you guys know.

I love how you did the derivation of the equation also! But I think it would be better to start with how you can go from m = (rise over run) to the slope intercept formula. Suggestion: Any chance you could provide a playlist of all "proofs" for equations such as remainder theorem, point slope, slope intercept, quadratic standard, quadratic vertex, as well as why synthetic division "works" - and any other proofs that someone like me could understand for college algebra and even geometry? I see a lot of tutorials for college algebra without giving proofs of any of these and for me personally, showing the proof helps immensely in helping me "OWN" the concept and make it mine. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!

For elimination, you would just multiply the first equation by 4 (making the coefficient of the "y" equal) and then subtract the equations. This leaves "x" isolated, so you get 9x = 21 and you can solve for x, and then you substitute that value of x into either equation to get y. For substitution, you would need to isolate one of the variables (isolate y in the first equation --> y = 2x - 11/2) and use 2x - 11/2 in place of y in the second equation. 7x + 8(2x - 11/2) = 23 and you just solve for x and then use that x value in one of the original equations to get y. The values of x and y give you the intersection point of the two equations when graphed.

Can you do how to do substitution and elimination for equations like
