    Great educational piece. I love it. For me it’s a refresher course but I learned new things from it. And reminds me to grab my filters before leaving my house.

    It’s critical to know the tide cycle when shooting an unfamiliar beach. If you have not been to a beach location, I encourage to shoot during outgoing tide.

    Fantastic shot and location, which was not your typical walk in the park!! #elilocardi #fstoppers #stukelistens

    I noticed you didn't have a leveling plate on the tripod. I suppose that won't add anything if you're just shooting non-panoramic shots right?

  • @robbieledwith8437

    It's also worth noting that you need to keep a close eye on sky when polarising ...especially when working with a wide angle lens...ive found that it can bring a vignette that can be though to correct in post..

    Which stop ND did you use for that last photo you liked and what were the camera settings? Medium format right?

    Elia. You’re in PR. You must visit “Survivor Beach” in Aguadilla, PR. You’re going to get crazy.

    Great work Elia. Not even precarious cliff faces will get in the way of a beautiful image.
    PS Were you vlogging on your own? I kept imagining the vlogging tripod and camera washing away as you were holding down the main camera 😬

    Can you not stack a circular polarizer on top with a nd filter?

  • @daishi711
    @daishi711 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think most people in this scenario would be better off with just CPL and stack several images in Ps to achieve the slow shutter effect. So not worth messing with ND, especially a square filter system.. my 2c

    It's a shame, you missed a golden opportunity to plug the Peak Design strap. Who walks out into the sea hand-holding 10k worth of equipment?

  • @stmrjs
    @stmrjs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Isn't there a specific amount of time you can expose your shot in relation to the number of stops on your filter?

    • @maxsmirnoff8200
      @maxsmirnoff8200 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each stop of ND filter increases your exposure length 2x

      It really depends on the situation. Sometimes i use them to increase reflections if you turn them the other way.
