    I got a Bernedoodle because I needed a larger service dog. Temperament tested and all. He is the most wonderful calm and intelligent dog. His whole litter was calm and sweet. (Because the parents had great temperaments) As long as you do your homework and buy from a responsible breeder there is nothing wrong with this breed. My boy has become the most perfect service dog. I prefer mixed breeds due to less health issues. Many goldens I have known died early from cancer, so if i can avoid it i will.
    As other comments have said that dog is not a 50/50. Probably more poodle or even has some Aussie in it. The more poodle it is the more like a wired poodle it will act.
    I think I will always have a Bernedoodle (standard) especially for service work. Just be smart and find a good breeder with health records, temperament testing and well behaved parent dogs.
    Oh and grooming I learned to do it myself, its a bonding fun time between my boy and I and he loves it.

    my bernedoodle was actually one of the best dogs we have ever had. by the time he was 2 months he has learned to not chew on things in the house and when he was only 1 month he was already potty trained without no professional training needed. he’s nice and cuddly. The only problem is he jumps on people out of excitement and he is already a pretty heavy dog right now at about 10 or 9 months. But he’s truly the best dog we have had and to me he is my big baby❤❤

    All dogs have different personalities! Some bernedoodles are chill, and some playful. Personally, my bernedoodle only takes about 10+ minutes of playtime before he’s knocked out for 2-3 hours. He loves other dogs, and is a little rambunctious, considering he’s only 9 months. We love him so much, no regrets! 100% recommend 😉

    Our Bernedoodle is the best dog I’ve ever owned, hands down. She gets groomed once every three months, is extremely smart, plays beautifully with our four boys, is not rambunctious (is goofy and playful, however), and is a gorgeous dog. Just to give another side 👍🏼

  • @MariaElaine0516
    @MariaElaine0516 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It’s also how you raise them. We did plenty of training for our sweet baby. Yes a lot of energy as a puppy but most do. He’s cool with whatever we do now.
    With grooming, we cut him short and he’s so much more comfortable

  • @ChadMichaelSimon
    @ChadMichaelSimon 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It’s all true. We brush ours several times a week and have her groomed monthly, especially in the summer. Because, Reason 4, Bernedoodles overheat. They don’t last long in direct sunlight and seek shade.
    Reason 5 is their diet can be expensive because of their finicky, sensitive stomachs.
    And… We wouldn’t trade ours for the world. She’s incredibly intelligent, a wonderful companion, and is endlessly endearing. But we put the time into her every day with training, plenty of exercise for both her body and mind to avoid negative behaviors (and boredom!). She’s a lifelong investment that pays in spades.

    I have a bernedoodle and I’ll tell you somethings about this type of dog
    They have a lot of energy but will cuddle you a lot afterwards
    No they will not chew your couch my dog and my friends dogs have never done this nor tried to
    The grooming can get costly but it depends is there more poodle in the dog or more Bernice mountain dog
    You need to think about getting any type of dog it doesn’t matter what type it is but you definitely need to think about any dog you want to own

      Problem is they're a mix breed, with one parent being massive. Buying a mini doesn't guarantee it'll be mini. I have 2 minis from the same litter. One is 28 pounds, the other is 60 pounds. It's a roll of the dice with these dogs. Scout for the runt of you want a small one.

  • @hlp2022
    @hlp2022 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've been a bernedoodle owner for about 6-7 months and all of these reasons could be fixed/don't fit my dog. There are different sizes for the 1st reason: a toy, mini (what I have), medium, and normal. The mini that I have is about 25 pounds. For grooming, I used to be a lab owner so it's just a little bit more than I'm used to but my bernedoodle needs to be groomed about 1 every 2.5 months. And the 3rd reason is really not true at least for mine, my dog matches my family mood. If you're relaxing she will cuddle up with me on the couch, or when I want to play, she will get hyper. Just another thing is that they are very intelligent. We got her when she was 8 weeks and by the time she was 10 weeks she knew t3 tricks, sit, off, and shake. Overall I think the berne doodle is a very underrated breed. Very smart, caring, and very sassy!

    My granddog is a Berne and I love him, takes me on walks, always up for a good wrestling or playing catch. They do need to run so if you just sit down all day, they may get rambunctious but if you share the same hobbies, all is well. I had a purebred Weimaraner 40 years ago and we went for runs and walks every day, played catch. You don’t need a dog as a part of the family if your going to ignore them and blame them for being active or bored.

  • @moonbuni59
    @moonbuni59 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hmmm. My dog has only chewed on her toys, I groom her myself and she really only runs around our yard but we exercise her. Yes it takes time, but her temperament is more like the Bernese part than poodle. I guess it always depends. Of course I was used to grooming my Cockers, so the grooming didn’t scare me. Ours also is a mini, so is only 38 pounds.

He’s great with the kids and we just had a baby and he loves him and I can see they will be best of friends. She’s not crazy, she’s never been destructive, is very willing to listen and follow directions and has been super easy to train. I groom her myself. Any dog can be crazy if you allow them to be or you get one from someone with crazy parents. It mostly comes down to finding a breeder who puts in the work the first 8-10 weeks and then being willing to put in the work yourself.

    Reason one - because a Bernese is a beautiful dog and it’s abhorrent to cross it with a poodle just so you don’t get hair on your couch

    I have a Bernadoodle. She is a girl. If you want one. GET A GIRL. I am warning you. They are so cute. Very funny. Half “I don’t want to be here” and half “OMG HI. HI. HI. HI. OMG I HAVEN’T SEEN YOU IN 5 MINUTES” Anyway ya

    My dood is friggin awesome - true on the grooming - do it ourselves but is it worth it vs. a shedding dog. Mine is a tad rambunctious but nothing out of control.

    I’m sorry, but I totally disagree with this gentleman. I have a mini bernedoodle, and she’s the best dog I have ever owned. She’s now 5. Very smart dog and behavior is great.

  • @vannessawalls7548

    We just got a bernedoodle and yes she is high energy! Luckily our breeder did educate us on this beforehand so we knew what we were getting into. There are tons of bernedoodles that are both therapy and service dogs so they can be trained with consistency. DIYK9 had already made a huge difference in our pup

    I don’t think these are reasons NOT to get one, just things to consider. I have a 2 year old Bernedoodle and she is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. She had lots of energy but is the best cuddler and is only 65 pounds!

      Absolutely! I rescued my Bernie and he doesn’t chew anything. Very well mannered and affectionate. I groom him so I just spend time but if you keep them brushed all is good. Same for my sheepadoodle.
