Hi Mr. and Mrs. Volt my name is Tammy from KY and this is my first time watching you guys. You seem so sweet and so giving and make a great teàm. I have only been diving one time and it was at the Dollar store in the town where I live. I just wanted to try it out and right on top of the garbage was two bíg boxes of different kinds of potatoes chips, peanut butter crackers, candies and then a small bag with children's clothing. I couldn't get over how much waste. I took all of it and donated the clothes to the free store gave the food items to family, friends and anyone who wanted some. It wàs fun but my car broke down and I didn't have the money to fix it. Have now been 2 years without a car. If your out diving and find one please donate it to me. LOL Thanks Tammy

I would have so grabbed the bags too!!! What you do not use for donations etc…are also great to shred and use in your garden beds to attract worms for worm castings that will make your garden go crazy!

Years ago we had an ice storm with power outages all over the region for days and people from out of state doing repairs. The lines ip and dkwn our road already had repairs, new residences hastily spliced in for years, and the guys from out of town wracking thier heads at what they saw. "Our" workers got generator made coffee, a few snacks frim what was left, one of the neighbors brought out thier propane heater, and neighbors "abandoned" thier camp chairs off by the heater; folks up and down the street and the neighborhood at the end of the street put little things together. We got power and light before most about our road. And, they declared that they had to fix some of our tangled lines before we could proceed. - It can work to be nice to the worker bees working on your stuff.

Awesome haul! I like seeing how Mr. Volt’s mind works while diving, always on his A game. You could look into if there is a charity that does birthdays/parties for kids for the noise makers and other related items.
I only do a little diving. Just started a few months ago. Dollar Tree, and I look for mostly food. If I find anything I can use as crafts I will take also. Went last week and on employee going to work told me not to get in the dumpster. I give to the people in my area. My daughter and her 3 teenagers. Dollar General has locks on their dumpsters, so can't get in it. I also donate to a food pantry.
That's nice that you're trying it out. Some places don't mind and some do just keep checking if you're able to pretty soon you will find places that are ok with it. Just always be careful. Thanks for watching.
Depending upon how eclectic your garden is and what you grow, things like that ladder are often used as a trellis or, stuck in the ground to the back with flowers like peonies and dahlias tied to them.
Yeah I've noticed that the most giving n caring divers can n will talk about something they need or want and they go diving and end up finding it! It could be anything too like food or parts to a household item or even a household item itself and they find it! It's pretty cool actually!

8n our area, the localish bigger city has a lotmof composting regulation. But the major chain stores are using compactors reserved for compostsbke items. Im sure there are some incentives beyond our sky high landfill garbage charges. At the same time, we have a big composter who began with 5 acres and as much free stuff as they coild get delivered, or simply get, 30-40 years ago. That operation has grown tremendously but we do have large scale composting available to us locally.

You never know if they had those sitting in their back room or something and are just now getting rid of them. I wouldn't want anyone getting sick. Thank you erna we checked them they were good the recall was for different products in different states. We made a post to let our viewers know incase they find some. They were thrown out because they had just passed their best by date last month when we found them. They still taste good. Thank you for posting about that we really do appreciate it.

Yeah, CVS is not environmentally evolved. They throw out brand new boxes of plastic garbage bags too, unused. It’s a shame that big business does the most landfill garbage, yet doesn’t care about their own Grandkids world. Where’s the rationale?! Why do divers have to do their work and donate for them? Baffling?
It’s so sad to see how much companies waste when so few can afford to buy it. Thankfully there are people who do the best they can to help others with the things they rescue. God bless.
I think the writing said "receipt inside". In Germany we have to give the receipt back if we return something. Is it the same in the US? So much in the dumpsters, what a shame. I'm glad there are people like you! ❤️
From just the few locations I dive at I got an aluminum rocking lawn chair last week. It needs cushions. I debated getting the cushions or scrapping the aluminum. Today I picked up three matching ones from that location. I guess I better look for cheap cushions. 😃

im from a small town in northern oklahoma, and all i have here are dollar generals, aldi, staples, and bath and body works.. most of the time i get chips and snacks from the dg, containers from the staples, and wall flowers from bbw. i love dd!
1:08 - aluminium can. Could have been part of the scrapping operation or donated to the scrap yard. Plus big aluminium tray at 20:33. The scrap yard would not knock that back. Not enough on its own to be paid for but they'd have it. As for stores being obliged to put unsold goods aside in lieu of trashing it, they should look at agricultural,, and other, over-production, and manditory ordering of goods and the resulting over-stocking, because there is much trashing of still good stuff just to make space for slightly newer incoming orders.
I just found your video it's great love all the stuff you saved. I usely find regular store toss out but my best finds have came from personal trash that people toss in the store dumpster. My best find was a set of 1800s era bookends.
I just started and I grabbed alot from CVS dumpster box of chips, bags of chocolates and and whole pack of pads. I didn't go thru the whole dumpster but going back tonite.
Ha Ha that brought back memories of when My Mama and Dad would do groceries together every Saturday and us eight kids would be so excited with our Saturday night Ginger Ale and 2 Bags of chips for our treat for the week, mind you back in the day a large bag of chips would be fully packed of chips not air lol, so it wasn't too bad for 8 of us kids to share but some of us would always get frustrated cause my sister Lorraine would always get to lick the bad when the bag of Sal n Vinegar chips were done cause we wanted too lol. When they would pull into the back driveway, we'd all go out to grab the grocery bags, which were the nice thick strong brown paper bags like you found(no plastic bags back then) They never had to buy peppers, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, potatoes, green beans, tomatoes sauces, salsa, pickle, jam, jelly, canned peaches pears and beets. All the stuff my Mama canned saved us from buying it. We had a cold cellar that held the potatoes, carrots etc... and shelves for the canned stuff all from the garden us kids all worked in every summer. You couldn't get any fresher then this food compared to today with the GMO's...Anyhow that brought back so many memories seeing those paper bags lol, we always had each other to play with , it was great, we also worked hard but it was ok with us, that's all we knew and we all grew up with good work ethics. Only two out of eight kids got Grade 12 cause we would find jobs when young and move out, education was not really supported in our home but hard work was , so I'm thankful for that ha ha. Oh I have found boxes of Marshmellow Twist, Boxed Valentine Chocolate Hearts, chips, balloon blow up things(blue, red) and bags of KIT KAT Chocolate bars and Excel gum at Dollartree. At Michaels I found an unopened box with eight beautiful ceramic coloured jars and two matching boxes of Pumpkin platters, really pretty, never seen these anywhere before. I've only been out dumpster shopping maybe 9 times all winter and found a few things. I only do 4 dumpsters and leave cause of my knees/legs can't hold up and waiting for knee replacement on both. It gives me something to get excited about once in awhile lol. Thank You for filling the blessing Pantry and Thanks for sharing your findings.
That's so nice Claudette, such wonderful memories. I love that your Mama was able to can all that. We have a little garden but would love to be able to grow all of that. We would love a little farm with chickens goats and a garden to grow our fruits and veggies. We are working hard with this channel and with the stuff we find so hopefully we can get that soon. Lol if we do we will probably make a channel about that too. That's good that you are able to get out when you can just always be careful and we hope you get your surgeries you need soon. I saw on another DD channel that one of their friends was at a pet store and found a parakeet in the dumpster alive. They took it home and it was fine. How cruel is that?? Actually, it's sickening.

Hay "Best By Date o Best Before" es solo la calidad de el alimento o bebidas y si es "Use By" es mas delicado por que susede mas en productos refrigerados o carnes. Tambien usamos guantes para solo manejar comida y sanitizador o tuallitas de alcohol antes de hacer cualquier donacion. Los fabricantes de los productos para estar mas seguros ellos reducen las fechas por su seguridad, pero usulmente dependiendo el ambiente y temperatura de donde se encuentran, nosotros chequeamos los lugares 2 a 3 vecez al dia para encontrar lo mas fresco. Well done it better then it all going to the landfill. We're sort of blessed over here in the UK we have a few companies that physically go and collect surplus food and do food banks. We unfortunately live in a throw away world keep up the good work and will look forward to the next video.
Coming out of a convenience store one time I grabbed a bunch of scratch tickets in the trash can and for whatever reason the people missed the bonus game on some of games. I ended up with an extra $125.
@@voltdivin i used to take them out of the trash when i worked at a convience store when the drunk people left for the night and we were throwing the trash away. i would find winners all the time. as long as i did not cash them in at the store i worked at my boss didnt care.

We saw that too. I cried and prayed that if something horrible like that ever happened again that some dumpster diver would find that baby.

Yeah, CVS is not environmentally evolved. They throw out brand new boxes of plastic garbage bags too, unused. It’s a shame that big business does the most landfill garbage, yet doesn’t care about their own Grandkids world. Where’s the rationale?! Why do divers have to do their work and donate for them? Baffling?
It’s so sad to see how much companies waste when so few can afford to buy it. Thankfully there are people who do the best they can to help others with the things they rescue. God bless.

From just the few locations I dive at I got an aluminum rocking lawn chair last week. It needs cushions. I debated getting the cushions or scrapping the aluminum. Today I picked up three matching ones from that location. I guess I better look for cheap cushions. 😃

im from a small town in northern oklahoma, and all i have here are dollar generals, aldi, staples, and bath and body works.. most of the time i get chips and snacks from the dg, containers from the staples, and wall flowers from bbw. i love dd!

1:08 - aluminium can. Could have been part of the scrapping operation or donated to the scrap yard. Plus big aluminium tray at 20:33. The scrap yard would not knock that back. Not enough on its own to be paid for but they'd have it. As for stores being obliged to put unsold goods aside in lieu of trashing it, they should look at agricultural,, and other, over-production, and manditory ordering of goods and the resulting over-stocking, because there is much trashing of still good stuff just to make space for slightly newer incoming orders.
Here in Maine where I live our stores donate to farmers for their animals. & the things that do go to food pantries.

I usely find regular store toss out but my best finds have came from personal trash that people toss in the store dumpster.
My best find was a set of 1800s era bookends.
Wow that's amazing yes some of our best finds were at apartment dumpsters.
I just started and I grabbed alot from CVS dumpster box of chips, bags of chocolates and and whole pack of pads. I didn't go thru the whole dumpster but going back tonite.

Ha Ha that brought back memories of when My Mama and Dad would do groceries together every Saturday and us eight kids would be so excited with our Saturday night Ginger Ale and 2 Bags of chips for our treat for the week, mind you back in the day a large bag of chips would be fully packed of chips not air lol, so it wasn't too bad for 8 of us kids to share but some of us would always get frustrated cause my sister Lorraine would always get to lick the bad when the bag of Sal n Vinegar chips were done cause we wanted too lol. When they would pull into the back driveway, we'd all go out to grab the grocery bags, which were the nice thick strong brown paper bags like you found(no plastic bags back then) They never had to buy peppers, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, potatoes, green beans, tomatoes sauces, salsa, pickle, jam, jelly, canned peaches pears and beets. All the stuff my Mama canned saved us from buying it. We had a cold cellar that held the potatoes, carrots etc... and shelves for the canned stuff all from the garden us kids all worked in every summer. You couldn't get any fresher then this food compared to today with the GMO's...Anyhow that brought back so many memories seeing those paper bags lol, we always had each other to play with , it was great, we also worked hard but it was ok with us, that's all we knew and we all grew up with good work ethics. Only two out of eight kids got Grade 12 cause we would find jobs when young and move out, education was not really supported in our home but hard work was , so I'm thankful for that ha ha. Oh I have found boxes of Marshmellow Twist, Boxed Valentine Chocolate Hearts, chips, balloon blow up things(blue, red) and bags of KIT KAT Chocolate bars and Excel gum at Dollartree. At Michaels I found an unopened box with eight beautiful ceramic coloured jars and two matching boxes of Pumpkin platters, really pretty, never seen these anywhere before. I've only been out dumpster shopping maybe 9 times all winter and found a few things. I only do 4 dumpsters and leave cause of my knees/legs can't hold up and waiting for knee replacement on both. It gives me something to get excited about once in awhile lol. Thank You for filling the blessing Pantry and Thanks for sharing your findings.
That's so nice Claudette, such wonderful memories. I love that your Mama was able to can all that. We have a little garden but would love to be able to grow all of that. We would love a little farm with chickens goats and a garden to grow our fruits and veggies. We are working hard with this channel and with the stuff we find so hopefully we can get that soon. Lol if we do we will probably make a channel about that too. That's good that you are able to get out when you can just always be careful and we hope you get your surgeries you need soon. I saw on another DD channel that one of their friends was at a pet store and found a parakeet in the dumpster alive. They took it home and it was fine. How cruel is that?? Actually, it's sickening.

Hola Silvia. Si, chequeamos las fechas de caducidad. Hay "Best By Date o Best Before" es solo la calidad de el alimento o bebidas y si es "Use By" es mas delicado por que susede mas en productos refrigerados o carnes. Tambien usamos guantes para solo manejar comida y sanitizador o tuallitas de alcohol antes de hacer cualquier donacion. Los fabricantes de los productos para estar mas seguros ellos reducen las fechas por su seguridad, pero usulmente dependiendo el ambiente y temperatura de donde se encuentran, nosotros chequeamos los lugares 2 a 3 vecez al dia para encontrar lo mas fresco. Well done it better then it all going to the landfill. We're sort of blessed over here in the UK we have a few companies that physically go and collect surplus food and do food banks. We unfortunately live in a throw away world keep up the good work and will look forward to the next video.
Coming out of a convenience store one time I grabbed a bunch of scratch tickets in the trash can and for whatever reason the people missed the bonus game on some of games. I ended up with an extra $125.
Oh that's true I forgot to mention to check those scratchers people are always throwing them out and that's awesome you found a winning one.
@@voltdivin i used to take them out of the trash when i worked at a convience store when the drunk people left for the night and we were throwing the trash away. i would find winners all the time. as long as i did not cash them in at the store i worked at my boss didnt care.
