"Guys trust me it's not magic I just use a spiritual sword that blows up continents"
You see those warriors from hammerfell? They’ve got curved swords! CURVED! SWORDS!
You see those warriors from Skyrim? They've got straight swords! STRAIGHT SWORDS!
Intriguing, but highly disturbing.
The Akaviri Order: (>°○°)>
Its heavily hinted that the next elder scrolls will be in hammerfell... and ive always thought our player character will be the latest avatar/manifestation of hoonding.
Nah the trailer is in High Rock.
@@RyanBright-wg1yk It's going to have both. It better have both.
I hope they will bring Aldmeri to heel in TES VI
I think Hammerfell might be a good place to go next.
If it ever gets made and if it is is not a piece of crap like Starfield. I think Bethesda is going to try and do away with free modding on TES games, I dont expect it to come with a editor like the old ones.
@@WizardsandWarriors 4:06 song name please 🙏

My favorite race in the Elder Scroll universe. I had no idea the lore of the time in Yokuda was so fleshed out. Most of my knowledge of them comes from the time of post tamriel invasion.
They're my favorite race in TES as well.
“Brown to black with thick and wavy to tight and curly black hair”
>Draws them as beige colour Arabs
@@JohnDoe-sw1rs Right?!
Redguards hold it down 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
As an Aliki'r warrior myself, I'm glad to see this
“It’s a prayer, Cap’n, to the God of We Like Our Bodies Just Like They Are.”
Will you also do video about Reachman? They are very interesting people with unique culture and actions of some of them left an mark in Tamriel history?
The Forbears are not descendants of the Sword Singers, but the general warrior caste of Yokuda which where the soldiers of the Ra Gada wave who killed off the other inhabitants of Hammerfell. While the Natumbo led the armies and were the nobility of Ruling Class of Yokuda.
Aaaaah the lore gods bless my weekend again!
Thank you once more multiverse lore masters
*YES SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRR*
*Been waiting a million for this one*
This video was long awaited. This is my favorite series on TH-cam. Thank you so much.
To see the rise of a redguard empire would be cool. We’ve had imperial, nedic, Nordic, and tzaesece empires it’s time for a redguard one.
YESSSSS !!! NEVER STOP MAKING DOCUMENTRY'S ABOUT THE GODLIKE ELDER SCROLLS UNIVERSE🤩🤩🤩🤩
Good video but a few things to point out. At the beginning of the great war the imperial legions fought along side the redguards in hanmerfell and even after signing the peace treaty the many of the imperial legion men staioned in hammerfell stayed behind to help fight against the dominion so while the redguards undoubtedly fought fiercely to defend their home to imply they done so by themselves isnt true. Also its implied in the video that the redguards never accepted peace with the dominion out of pride or honour, but that's not the case either. The peace treaty gave large swaths of hammerfell to the dominion, thats why the redguards never accepted peace because they were going to lose land, kind of an important fact to miss out. The redguards didn't accept peace like everyone else because they had the most to lose.
Also it's mentioned a little in the video but it really can't be understated that the red guarda really are prone to um "disappearing" anyone aren't like them and even brought some races, like the keptu and the gaint goblins, to complete extinction.
Redguards are undoubtedly one of the cooler races, but I feel like this video portayed them in the best possible light when in reality they really are a morally grey people which makes them more interesting.
They did fight alone..To say it isn't true is silly..In real history, when nations stood alone, they still often had help from various peoples.. But if you dont have sovereign support,,, Then we say "Stood alone".. Because that's what effectively happens in such cases.
Every race is morally grey
@markmorris7123 they did have support from the empire, albeit indiscreet one or cia style
@markmorris7123 except they literally didn't. It says in the lore that when the Aldmeri dominion landed on the southern shores of Hammerfell the redguards forces "offered scattered resistance" and the outnumbered imperial forces retreated across the desert in what's known as the march of thirst. The aldmeri dominion then took control of the whole of southern Hammerfell which was their goal. It was only when the imperial legion that marched across the desert regrouped in northern Hammerfell and got reinforcements from High rock, which again would have been other races mostly Bretons and Orcs, did the fight in Hammerfell turn in the red guards favour. To be clear at this point the redguards, specifically the Forebears, were putting up a fight but it was the imperial legions in the area with reinforcements from high rock that was doing most of the heavy lifting. The main opponent to the aldmeri dominion in hammerfell was literally an imperial commander called Decianus. When Decianus was ordered to bring his legions back to cyrodill he left behind the majority of his most veterans units to stay behind in Hammerfell to continue the fight. Its specifically said in the lore that these veterans formed the cire of the army that eventually pushed the dominion out of Hammerfell.
So not only did the redguards not fight alone, they weren't even the main adversaries of the dominion in hammerfell.
They did end up signing a separate treaty with the Dominion though as well just not the White Gold Concordant.
BEAUTIFUL JUST BEAUTIFUL, THE GREAT ANIMATIONS AND VISUALS WITH YOURE PERFECT CHOICE OF MUSIC AND YOURE AWESOME COMMENTARY IS JAW DROPING🤩🤩 thank you so much
I love the art style of your videos! I hope you soon find time to continue this series and that it'll be about the dunmer next 😊 I could use some cultural lore input for my writing project 😉
I would love to see TES VI be like the Thalmor won and in a 100 years you join up with a rebellion to free Tamriel.
the thalmor already won...only Curved Swords can heal the thalmor!
I see that the writers of Elder Scrolls were fans of Middle Eastern history.
They have some awesome lore and great characters through the series. The Redguard game is also actually pretty good and Cyrus is one of the best Elder Scrolls characters.
Great video, thanks. It'd be cool if you could mention where you are pulling different pieces of lore from though. Bethesda has always been fast and loose with lore... retcons, scrapped ideas, new ideas that're dropped later, etc. If you mention sources it'd help viewers work out which parts are more reliable, rather than suggesting all of it is canon.
I’m so happy you’re continuing these videos! Finished binging the warhammer playlist and saw this one, one of my favorite worlds and history’s.

Tall Papa? Thats Big Daddy to those of us who truly follow him.
Skyrim belongs to the Nords!
Unlike the Redguards nords are too weak to take their land,
They should take notes from their dark skin human brothers who singlehanded took their land from the thalmor and empire 😬
So interesting culturally with things like sword singing, which I know the next game will never address or attempt to use.
Wonderful Video.

I disagree, Dragons age and dragons dogma had a fair amount of black characters
@@LoopyLemon775I think he means as a unique culture. Most fantasy cultures are based on west and north European medieval cultures. Red Guards are a mixture of Tuareg Africans and Arabs.

Let Go the fantasy Moors from Baltimore!
😐
@@LewisB3217 That is a reference to Bethesda Game Studios original from Bethesda, Maryland. And stay still residing in the greater DC Maryland Virginia area. And Baltimore is the largest city for the studio.
What?
:IDE
Those are falchions, not scimitars
They are literally called scimitars in the game lmao
@@LewisB3217 Video game weapon naming conventions are notoriously poor.
It's why, for example, everyone thinks a longsword is a standard one-handed sword - while in reality longswords were two-handed.
If you think you are thinking about a longsword, you're probably thinking about an arming sword.
@@Spacemongerr that doesn’t make them falchions, falchions only have a slight curve, if any at all, they are very clearly scims
@@LewisB3217 My comment was not meant to address whether it is a scimitar or not, it was to highlight that a video game is not a good source to use regarding the accurate naming of weapons
@@Spacemongerrthere are plenty of historical examples of one handed longswords… the most famous example is a knightly sword more commonly just called a sword which is a one handed longsword that is frequently depicted in medieval/fantasy games…
Great video but too bad you used some light skinned people in the artwork. People from Hammerfell are dark skinned, like described in the beginning of the video.
The redguards come in all shapes and colours. They are based on Arabs who can also be light skinned. In the games there are plenty of lighter skinned red guards and the character creation also let's you change the colour of redguards to almost Caucasian levels of white.
Maybe stop being so obsessed with race and just enjoy the video?
Hammerfell is based on north africa and middle-east homie, they can look lighter skinned and black too. Plus, lorewise the Yokus intermixed with the native Nedes and it's not difficult to imagine the same happening to a lesser extent with their Breton neighbours too.
I've never understood why they have an oriental culture but are black.
A lack of respect for the different black African civilizations.
@@carbonyporto5091 they're a fantasy race. They take inspiration from real world ethnicities, they're not direct depictions.
@@carbonyporto5091 Me too. Bethesda could have drawn inspiration from ancient/medieval Ethiopia, Nubia, Zimbabwe, and several pre-colonial african kingdoms. It would have been so much cooler.
Àfter Tes5, the redguard are the only hope for mankind
stop making redguards white!
“Swarthy” that’s a somewhat problematic term you don’t hear anymore lol
Swarthy is as offensive as pale. It isn’t racist but kind of insulting
Inshallah the sons of Hunding will obliterate the Thalmor
Why did you describe all redgraurds as black . You must have never actually read lore
Enlighten us
@@Pakshee_C uh basic lore . Go read you bum
Because they are.
Redguards are black and nords are white, the end.
There are no redguards that aren’t black, they aren’t middle eastern they aren’t white or anything like that they are and always were portrayed throughout the games and lore as dark skin with 4c hair, large lips and nose, and in general look like real world black People.
@@LoopyLemon775 let me guess Skyrim introduced you to elder scrolls . Go read the lore
