Spoken like a man that knows👍. The older I get the more I realise if someone slags a piece of gear off but can’t explain why, they kinda don’t have a clue lol. I think you’ve given it a fair review 👌👍 wish I had the money for something that nice
I have a fusion 2 think its a good baler the neighbour has a khun baler a few issue but i will say it makes a good soild bale and i like the way it puts the net over the corner of the bale great for hay and straw stacking on trailers look i still prefer a fusion but in the real world it comes down to service and price
It’s a fine baler alright, but I feel Kuhn could have incorporated a steering axle to help reduce scuffing in the field during tight turns. The current rocking beam axle setup would make a steering system impossible without making the rear wheel track wider which causes other issues.
Its a fine baler fair play but my contractor had a john deere baler with d same double axel as your kuhn out on demo for a week and this year his fusion baler and d john deere were both in d field together and the fusion sailed around without leaving to many marks on the field but the john deere did leave a lot more and d contractor did say it was hard to pull. Once d first axel broke d sod the second axel was usless d wheels we're not even turning on the second axel when d baler broke the surface and both balers always stopped to wrap d bale and let it off as ground was soft.
For my perspective theres some oddities with that baler and how you (in general) wrap, prioritizing stuff regarding the extras and other small stuff. Some of it wouldnt work for me and my clients but id like to see myself as someone whos mature enough to realize farming is not the same from place to place and theres alot of variables around that i dont know at all. But regarding the backdoor alarm, wouldnt it help alot if you actually took 5 minutes to clean up the baler when youre done for the day? My quick theory is that theres grass etc buildup so the backdoor isnt as closed as it was when it was new, clean and calibrated. And if it still would beep regarding that (saying backdoor isnt closed when it actually is) i would get it recalibrated, moved the sensor placement if thats even possible on Kuhn or last resort get a new sensor. It is a fault and you shouldnt have to be dealing with it. We have been been having that as a routine for nearly 20years now and we drill it into every new operator that will bale for us too. Remove grass, dust and debris from the knives, between the backdoor and chamber, around the wrapper, around the boggi axles and the brakes (potential firehazard, spoken from experience) and the pickup. While youre doing that you might also spot something that shouldnt be like missing pickup tine, slack in the drivechain, missing knife, crack in the roller or anything really. Cant guarantee it but it has saved us from breakdowns when we really dont want any. Anyways I loved the video, its nice to see videos like these from the people actually owning and using the equipment. Would be looking out for more later on :) ps, its most common to use widefilm + 6layers on normal silage here but widefilm + 8layers is getting more and more common. And on hay and haylage we use 10, 12, 14, 16 layers and net.
What was the problem with your previous baler, i have a fusion 2 and thinking of changing to a fusion 3 so we can offer the barrell wrap to customers. The Kuhn is under consideration too
I'm the same that beeping gets irritating! Why they can't put a volume control on them it's not like many of us will be using them on a pre Q cab tractors! To be fair lots of tractors and machines seem to beep or skreech every time you press something or even change bloody direction! Why? 😂
@@Jasonculhaneagri tbh I don't know, but I can't figure how lads doing pit silage can charge per acre either. There's a lot that could happen both right or wrong along the way
You dislike mchale so you are not going to say a bad word about that Kuhn because you are just trying to prove your right . Kuhn will never dominate the market like mchale .
Stupid comment to make.. The only reason Mchale dominate the market is because there the only baler producer in Ireland.. If khun were making these balers in ireland you would see half the country running them.. Stop being a clown..

I find if I pick every second row there isn't a scuffing issue .
That is a smart fix👍

Might have been narrow tyres on the John Deere , personally I find this very good to travel in this wet year
They could have been not sure what size they were
Like the video nice to hear a review from the end user.
You can change the amount of layers you put on while baling by pressing circle button below the light switch on the working screen
You can yes but that whole top section should be touch screen
Love watching the farmer baling 🐶🏴☀️

If you look back on my videos you will see it, it was around Christmas
I did 7000 bales now with the Kuhn now this year and I don’t want another, I have the 23 knives, 3d wrapper and the big cc1 1200 terminal.
What happened
How many bales an hour do you recon you can get with net and 3d?
You could do with cleaning down the baler, sop everywhere on it and the season well over,
Your looking at a video several months old that was made before silage was finished.

There is volume control
If you press the setting button on the bottom left of the screen it is in there
@@mrcvx I don't think there is on the older none touch screen you can turn it off but then when the bale is full it just starts netting.

By the sounds of things (Bale Count ) she’s losing you a few pound by making such a good bale . Great for the Farmer . Not so good for Tom
if done by acre it's no different
@@kieranosullivan02 never heard of someone charge by acre for bales ? How would you price that
If you don’t make a good bale the farmer will more on to another contractor
Charge by kilo would be a good one for all involved, dm and protein sensor would also be awesome, but would be hard to make work
