Great video. Talented man . What I loved the most was how calm you remained when the hub wasn’t a match and you had to alter. If it was me I’d have the hammer pegged across the work shop 😂😂😂😂 Maybe you edited out the choice wards 😂thanks for the info on the welder. Looking to get a MIG welder and Have the same issue with the 3 phase so great advice. Looking forward to the next video
Absolutely mighty job you done there. Skills like yours are priceless in the farming community shame you don't live near me up north. Pleasure to watch and nice you got a dry spell to work outside
Great bit of engineering work that fair play. Love watching your videos , can really learn and pick up so many wee tips from them. It's getting harder all the time to find skilled men who will do these kind of jobs. Keep the videos coming 👍
If you get up every morning and enjoy getting stuck into your work that's half the battle. So many people don't enjoy what they work at, sometimes its not all about money.
Absolutely incredible workmanship 👏🏻. Love these kind of videos hope you record some more of your jobs . There’s a channel on here called snowball engineering he’s a young fella over in England doing similar work with agricultural machinery too. If you haven’t seen him he’s definitely worth a watch. He’s gifted like yourself 👍🏻
You put a lot of work into the project and fair play to ya. My mate added another axle to a tipping trailer last week. Made a mega job of it. It sits better and he recons its easier to pull along the road. Do you build many sheds?
@sheepschool365 I know all about it. I broke sod last July and of it wasn't for using up alot of favors there would just be a hole in the ground. It will be a while before I'm ready but I'll keep ya in mind 👍
It's like that from he bought it as a fairly new baler. I'd guess a car collided with the wheel from the side at some stage. Only way I could think how the back hub got damaged....
Good job mate, what did you think about the replacement back plate being so much thinner, you recon it's up for it or is it a wait and see cos parts are hard to get ?
Thanks for getting back to me, I was about to by a new jasic single phase of my local man but when I looked at the plate on the back it said it needs 52AMP to run so I got on to my electrician and he said that my house would only have 63AMP's so that would mean I would only have 11AMP left while I was welding I have a murex 251 at the min and it only needs 32amp so that's how I'm getting away but she has got very shuttering and I find her very under power at anything over 8 or 10 mil I wonder have the big single phase sappy with is 100AMP because that's what all the milk men have

Brilliant video David. You have great patience to take on that job. I never heard of your channel till recently even though am not too far from you. In fact I think your number is on my phone, are you or were you a member of Ballinagh Vintage Club?
Excellent piece of work. All action and not talkin profuse amounts of shite like the Americans.. BTW perhaps the axl shudda been tacked either side prior to being fully welded to avoid weld distortion despite the fact that it was firmly aligned with the angle irons.
Mate, i think you forgot to read John Deers statements on right to repair... farmers don't want to be able to repair their machinery and gear... or so they said... Also several farmers associations representatives somehow follow the manufacturers statements instead of those of their members... how dare you be a farmer repairing their gear... you are not supposed to exist (cynical joking of course...)
Hi Gregory, just trying something a little different. Thought of starting a different channel for the engineering videos but I don't think it really matters. People will only watch a video if they want to. Thanks for the visit, David.

You put a lot of work into the project and fair play to ya. My mate added another axle to a tipping trailer last week. Made a mega job of it. It sits better and he recons its easier to pull along the road. Do you build many sheds?
Make about 10 or 12 per year. None in the last 12 months due to the massive material prices....

Very well done not your first time, you self taught, or did you learn your trade somewhere? Thanks
Mostly self taught but worked with some great people in my younger days....
Great video, bit of rootin on the street, cleanest bit of concrete ye have hoping not to loose any bits 😂
And no bits leftover....😜
Very professional job ,did you train somewhere or self taught ?
Mostly self taught but worked with some great people in my younger days....
Have you bales to make soon David ? No bother getting one baler man at least now..
No bales made yet. Hoping for a good winter 😜
How did it get damaged I'd like to know. Great videos. Thanks..
It's like that from he bought it as a fairly new baler. I'd guess a car collided with the wheel from the side at some stage. Only way I could think how the back hub got damaged....
He must be baling on top the ditches when he bent the stub like that . The back of the boot 🥾 only job for getting her in. She flew on. 😅
Ya would imagine the front hub would get all the abuse first. I'd say back hub took a knock from a car at some stage....
Wow
🤙
love what you do ,and if you want 3 phase on the cheap a generator that runs off a tractor pto ,lots about and cheap regards
Thanks for that 👌
good job helo here from denmark
Velkommen to the channel...👌
Good job mate, what did you think about the replacement back plate being so much thinner, you recon it's up for it or is it a wait and see cos parts are hard to get ?
Thank you. I'm fairly confident the replacement hub will outlast the balers lifespan. 60,000 bales gone through it already!
That welder you mentioned i need to make the same move is your house and shed on the same connection
Yea. On the same connection. It requires a 32amp socket and trip switch.

How the hell did he bend the stub
It's like that from he bought it as a fairly new baler. I'd guess a car collided with the wheel from the side at some stage. Only way I could think how the back hub got damaged....
Hit a hole big enough while going fast enough and that's it😂

The tyre will wear badly when run in the wrong direction. Makes a huge difference, they scrub off in no time even if the bearings are good!

Axle Road-less 😄 😁
Ur a super worker David credit to ya how are the lambs going for ya for sale
Thank you..👌 Lambs are doing well. Should have sold more earlier...
Kuhn balers are made of cheese,it wouldn't be difficult to bend any part of one.
Excellent piece of work. All action and not talkin profuse amounts of shite like the Americans..
BTW perhaps the axl shudda been tacked either side prior to being fully welded to avoid weld distortion despite the fact that it was firmly aligned with the angle irons.
