- Who was Absalom? Absalom was one of the sons of David, a powerful and influential king of Israel in the Old Testament. Absalom was famous for his unusual and admirable beauty, as well as for his empathy and charm.
However, Absalom’s story was marked by two significant events: the vengeful murder of his half-brother Amnon and his subsequent conspiracy and rebellion against his own father, King David.
The name Absalom has Hebrew origin and means “my father is peace” or “peace of God”. However, peace was not evident in his biography.
He was the third son of King David with Maacah, daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur. There is no precise information about the year of Absalom’s birth, but scholars believe he was born a thousand years before Christ.
Hey thx for whoever created this content. It helped me tremendously while trying to understand this story. A lot of the times i dont clearly understand whats going on when I read the Bible especially kjv, so sometimes i like to see a video type format to help with painting the scenes in my head. Very well done.. this is absolutely a valuable video and content. Keep em comin!
It's sad because I would've done the same as Absalom.
This story has always lived rent free in my head. When life gets tough I listen or read it again. So so tragic. God bless everyone.

I have always cried whenever I read or hear the story of absalom and David. His fatherhood (David) shows how it reflected God's fatherhood be like because as a king he worshiped Him.
Also it makes me cry because the story is also an example of God saving David again and again from his enemies when he calls upon Him despite his imperfections.. ❤
King David's story is my top favorite in the Bible.
Absalom and Ammon both were very damaged young men. Ammon grew into someone with a pathological hatred of women who was just a hair’s breadth away from beginning to murder them for kicks. Absalom was a pressure cooker of rage just waiting to blow. He loved his sister and family. But this is someone who would never have been capable of normal relationships. Anyone getting close to him would have essentially even playing Russian roulette. He wasn’t safe to be around. Too much damage had been done.
King David is an example of how God often uses deeply dysfunctional families and individuals. He was flawed he made some terrible terrible mistakes. Which inflicted long lasting irreversible damage.
I believe this happened because of adultery with Bathsheba . It was already foretold by God tat some kind of punishment would strike David .
This is a real tear jerker
Absalom did not look like the pictures in this video
But he was told to be handsome
As there were no photos or videos in those days, nobody knows but he was a Hebrew and said to be very beautiful with long hair, so we can only imagine him.
No Shit?!
Black Man..
Jesus is coming through this rich lineage ...
Jesus will be so so good looking just watch
@@user-lw5xu8qo5vI started out as Solomon, acted like Deborah and feel stupid for looking back and going back to sins. I just want back esp my organs and not be in the world Satan trick me.
You did an exemplary job recapping this story. Thank you so much. To God all the glory.
Love this vidoe
No God doesn't want revenge so brother like abusolom will be punished with God praise God
Why did absalom adviser hang himself?
Because they did not follow his advice
Every sister needs a brother like Absalom 🫢
Definitely
Except that also means every father of male and female children would have a twisted son like Absalom too.
@Christusregna Maybe so, but he rode
for his sister in an era where women, both honorable and dishonorable were treated like utter trash. May not be right but I know who I was rooting for in that story since I was old enough to understand it.
@@shyy87 Women of the Bible were not treated like trash. There are many examples of faithful women in the Bible who were blessed by God... like Rahab, Sarah, Rebekah, Ruth, Naomi, Priscilla, Esther and more. Don't look at the few bad examples, because there are some men in the Bible who have suffered as well.
@@shyy87 Not sure how you were taught that the women of the bible were treated like trash. Absalom didn't allow his father or God to deal with Tamar's situation. He took it upon himself and most likely had designs on the throne before that using his sister as an excuse. What happened with david's children is a result of the curse that befell him from his murder of bathsheba's first husband and the cover up against God. David's house was in shambles and his children were victim's of that failure. God's blessing was becoming a curse. And since you DON'T understand any of this, i admonish you to READ the word through prayer rather than trying to read it through modern rules of engagement - try what GOD would have you to understand instead!
Very good narration. Actually enjoyed watching the video. Keep it up.👍
I love your feedback on these stories ❤
He was evil 😠 evil to the core, and he got everything... "he had coming to him" plan and simple, I don't care how"good" he look, or how "wonderful" his hair was, 😡 he opposed "every wish" of the Lord 🕊️
You are a Hater
Avshalom not Absalon!
Avshalom is meaning: Father of peace!
Thank you so much.
Confirms and educates what is in the Holy Bible.
Otherwise generational curses continue
Inspiring❤
Well explained ❤
All the characters look the same, your illustrations did not help
❤God bless
King Davids punishment for sinning against God with Bathsheba by having Uriah the Hittite killed so he can have Bathsheba is not whats mentioned here … Davids punishment was that he lost his first child with Bathsheba. King David had Uriah killed when Bathsheba became pregnant with their love child . He tried to get Uriah to go home and and sleep with Bathsheba the night Uriah returned from duties … but Uriah paid homage to King David that night instead and did not spend the night with Bathsheba . Next morning he returned to duties and with a letter King David to Commander in charge to put Uriah in front line to be killed instantly . Uriah delivered his death his death sentence himself , without knowing what was ordered . Uriah was a devoted man to King David . He was Davids best friend . He knew before hand that Bathsheba was pregnant thats why he was telling Uriah to go home to Bathsheba that night so he could sleep with her snd cover up his sin with his wife but instead Uriah was devoted in his serving King David and slept outside King Davids premises that night . Thats why he had Uriah killed front line. Imagine if Uriah read the letter … what would have happened then . But Uriah was too trusting and did not suspect anything evil was happening . I felt sorry for Uriah the Hittite . He was devoted friend to King David . But Bathsheba Lost the child she carried . That was Gods Punishment . This story of Absolom also reminded me of Dinah . The Only daughter of Jacob and Leah . And Dinah was the Only sister of Simeon , Judah and to three other brothers and she was also raped . And her brothers took revenge and they killed entire tribe .
Is there any way these videos could be done in a way that is not robotic...
This is important information being given, but the audio in this video is horrendous
Apparently God dropped his chariot out sky
Man that dropped absalom out sky
Adam in michael angelo
He wasn't God
Is Absalom is David’s most handsome son or Solomon?I’m confused some say Absalom is the most handsome some say Solomon….
Soloman was known for his wisdom and absalom was known as most handsome
Solomon was handsom but he was more known for his wisdom and wealth not his looks. David was handsome to
Absalom was said the most beautiful man in all the land
❤
😮😮😮❤❤
Please he could be anything but handsome. Have you tot ally lost it.He is defined by one thing alone trying to over throw David so stop this crap he was so handsome, sure in youth every young lad is handsome.Focus on what he did and repeatedly to David.Yes Bathsheba as she likes her house CLEAN so be it .
The Bible mentioned that he is really handsome and is perfect from head to toe
This makes no sense
Every word from the Bible has a purpose. His beauty was important because he used it to gain followers and deceived people cuz of it. People do this now in our present time.
You’re entitled to your rant. I can get on my rant with the best of them too. But try to spell above a 3rd grade level and try to be sober. Maybe I’m being anal retentive. But if you want for your words to be taken seriously take the time to string simple sentences together correctly and try not to be obnoxious. Atrocious spelling and acting like an arse is a combination that will make people’s hackles rise
You are speaking angrily against the Word of God. Read the story again, his beauty is emphasized multiple times.
This must be who the character from Pluto is based off of
