To me if you are going to masked a video about upgrading, it's cheating starting out with your shop pretty much fully upgraded, especially if you need it fully upgraded to take on the ships he is fighting.

Than I went to the top of the world map to get easy ships. And upgraded a lot after, and than worked my way down to the hard ships
this is impossible to do with the Jackdaw in its early stages you need at least to upgrade you ship to half to be able to defeat those big ships with high levels so this way has no use for me or anyone .
I actually have a way of doing this with cheats and saving the data too. You activate the cheats and when you get what you want go replay a mission in progress tracker and it’ll save. It works with legendary ships too. And when you’re done you’ll keep all upgrades and stuff and will have the chance to battle the legendary ships again. It works amazingly.

It's a better idea to begin doing this with hunter brigs and frigates rather than MOW's, but this is pretty much the gist of it. If you ask me, it's much faster to just destroy the ships and grab the loot from the ocean, fast travel, rinse and repeat.
If you complete the game you maybe will be able to take on a man o war because during the story mode you have to take on a man o war when you assassinate the sage.
Just took a royal convoy with an un-upgraded jackdaw. Did it by getting close, releasing the wheel, swinging over to the ship, and killing the crew. The ship will be ready to board after shooting it once when you do this

Ok, so the way to upgrade fast is to use your fully upgraded ship against large ships! Guess what, you should just kill all the legendary ships and then upgrade, much faster
they are easy if you have decently upgraded side cannons,mortars,and swivel guns.dont let the size of the man o wars fool you.they are pretty weak if you have good weapons
Your "Fast" in the title is a lie, because the precondition for the shown way is to have a full upgraded ship, which needs around 50 hours of monotonous, grinding work. Just for logic & truth!
umm yes your ship is upgraded so itas easy for you to defeat a man o war of lvl 60 and your ship is already high upgraded soo you have no prove that its fast

Diving around sunken ships and finding the plans in chests, or finding them around the many and hundreds of islands in the game. . However you will still need the supplies and money to build each upgrade, just like the previous ones did. There are quite a few youtube tutorials on how to find each upgrade. Hope this answers helps. :)

Get the small ships and sink alot of them
Go south as soon as you are able to take on and easily defeat schooners. You will get tons more resources from ships in the south.

If your ship is still low level.I'd say try and aim for level 17 ships than upgrade you ship than slowly aim for bigger ships over time

The upgrades are cheaper at first so just destroy smaller ships then try doing the larger ones once your upgraded
tip : raid warehouse they can give you a lot of stuff to upgrade your ship.
