One of my favorite things in this game was every time i returned to the ship my crew cheered and was happy to see me, unlike my friends and family. So wholesome.

This was such a sick game when it launched. One of the few where I 100% the game and just kept looking for things to do.

This game was so different from the typical AC, but man was it SO fun. The sea Shanties, the ship battles (with the companion app), the whale hunting, everything was such a nice grind.
Don't be fooled Peli, the water has an immense amount of salt and will dehydrate you! I know it's tempting to drink all that lovely hydration, but it's simply too dangerous.

This is really the only AC game I've come back to time and time again. Just started it again a couple weeks ago and it still holds up today in the fun factor department. I'm not usually one for remasters but I'd buy this game remastered in a heartbeat (as long as they cleaned up some of the sword combat jank, that is)
I'm hoping for a remaster (or a performance upgrade) for PS5 too but I guess that would be suicide with Skull & Bones on the horizon
Same here! I revisited it recently and I was actually blown away by the writing of Edward Kenway as a character. His character arc throughout the story is honestly better writing than most AC games, and I adore him as a protagonist.
Apart from that, the gameplay is just really damn fun!!
If they just fixed the bugs, it'd be perfect. A graphics update would also be amazing considering the game already looks great despite the low polygon counts and lack of high resolution textures
@@meowcow21 also ,i think they should rather remake the game keeping everything same but starting the story based on the novel where we get so much more backstory,i can gurantee ,if they would have included the whole backstory then the game will become one of the best games.

i played this game back in 2017 and my best time playing it was just sailing around listening to the sea shanties. it was by far my most enjoyable AC and i really loved the story and the bittersweet ending
This game was so good. Between the distinctly aggressive and angry fighting style of Edward and the freedom you felt just being able to pull up on anyone with your ship, this game is one of my all time favorites.
Personally I like pirate games, getting to spend most of the game on water is wholesome, u can never become dehydrated

Something I like about Black Flag is that is that it's so good even the annoying Assassin's Creed gatekeepers who get angry at you for liking any Assassin's Creed game that isn't a part of the Ezio Trilogy agree that it's a great game.
I never understood why people say this game isn't an Assassin's Creed game. Like bro, Edward literally fights Templars the entire game. Sure he wasn't an Assassin for 95% of the game but watching him slowly transform into one was way better than most people think.
@@Xeno574 I played it recently, it really isn't an "Assassin's Creed" game till the very end (and even after), but it was fun.
He didn't "slowly transform" because right when his "transformation" started, the game ends. Above all, what I hated about this game is how they replaced the First Mate in the endgame freeroam for no reason.
@@Kronos0999 yes he most definitly did “slowly transform” and literally the only proof you need is how different his personality is from the start to end, he very much changed from being a greedy pos to a pirate with a good heart trying to see the point of view of the assassins to the end where he actually becomes an assassin

Recently started playing this game again, more focused on finding secrets and treasures. Absolutely love this game and it's theme. Only thing that bugs me is the fact that the E3 gameplay trailer had a much more authentic pirate feeling. Lots of candle light, smoke and large vegetation. Seems the final version has a much more bright an clear feeling to it, almost like you're in pirate heaven
they're still working on a standalone sequel that focuses ENTIRELY on the pirate theme. it has been in development for a long time. look it up!
@@liftbread If you mean Skull and Bones... Please temper your expectations. I've seen the gameplay of it and they seem to have taken entirely the wrong direction from Black Flag's runaway success. They've completely stripped out the idea of playing as a bold captain exploring the Caribbean and seem to have solely focused on ship battles. You don't even board enemy ships for crying out loud! Just park next to each other and watch the health bars go down!

This game truly stood out to me as one of the greatest at the very end. Edward looking across a table and seeing all his friends, all dead and gone.
That ending made me feel the weight of those deaths when I really didn't before (I was young so I only cared about the mechanics).

Yeah that surprisingly touching. In AC 2 you lose those important to you immediately. But in AC 4 you spend a significant amount of time with your friends only for them to die one after the other.

I loved black flag so much, the amount of hours I spent at sea pillaging, whaling and singing shanties wasn't healthy. I remember upgrading my ship so much that I could take on multiple man o wars at the same time. Great memories 😅
One of my main criticisms of Rogue, a game I adore, is that there aren't enough high level Man O' Wars floating around, and ofc that the map is a tad smaller.

The one aspect i find this game hilarious is that you can get your character black out drunk and then just find him in a haystack when he wakes up. I literally do this everytime i enter in a settlement.
Black flag was honestly one of the best games ever. I'm surprised there aren't more single player open world Pirate games like this. People definitely loved this one so there definitely a market out there......I guess what's what skull and bones is doing
Assassinations Creed BLACK FLAG is THE BEST Pirate game EVER! I REALLY wish Atlas game included mechanics of assassin's Creed and instead of "the dead" in the seas, I'd rather it be flooded with npc people ships like black flag and of course online players. British war ships, Spanish merchant ships etc... Atlas could of been so damn cool if the bright in a lot of mechanics and abilities from Assassin's Creed BLACK FLAG

I’ve been playing this again the last 2 weeks, went back to collect all the achievements since I never did when it came out. Great game that still holds.
I come back to it every couple years or so, there's just nothing else that scratches that pirate itch.

Really wanted to come back to this game after Ubisoft announced skull and bones. Idk why they restricted us to being on our ship for 90% of the game when they clearly had the assets seeing that game was heavily inspired by black flag.
I can see they’ve added multiple ships that you can customize improve and upgrade but if they had traded that for less ships/upgrades for working more on developing on foot combat/exploration I’d take that any day

I love how they got rid of all the stuff from the previous games and rebrand it with whole new mechanics, creed's lores and gameplays that started in Origin, yet they decided to keep the 'modern time' part where you just walking and interacting, there are a lot of redundancy in previous games and they get rid of it, which is good, but why keeping this? it's excruciatingly boring, the most 'not fun' part of the game. I thought they gonna built Desmond character as the last assassin little by little in every AC games until the final game of the franchise where it just Desmond because he completed the simulation and learned every details of every single previous assassins, it gonna be epic. I stop caring the moment Desmond died, He was the main character in modern time, I dont care about the rest.
It was always about the assassins not desmond, you're in love with desmond because he was the first guy. If you played AC2 you'd understand when the alien/god character was speaking directly to desmond and confusing ezio. BTW, desmond died in in AC3, AC4 is you working for abstergo on desmonds retrieved DNA.
