Black Flag is the best! The only thing for me was missing is to be able to buy ship types. That would be awesome to change the ship type and fully upgrade like manowar type of thing :D
Dont expect them to be as maneuverable as the jackdaw or the morrigan, manowars were big and slow and clumsy.. the bigger they are the more clumsy and slower they become

Black Flag is my all time favorite. Odyssey is pretty good as well. I love the naval battles specially in AC:BF all the harpooing, ship boss battles, bell diving and all that.. Love it! They should make new assassins creed based on pirates and main character should be Edwards son or something like that :P
Edward's son is Haythem Kenway: The Antagonist of AC3. Haythem was groomed by the Templars as a kid, after they killed Edward during a raid of his house. He went on to have a bastard son with a native American woman: Connor Kenway, and it became father vs son, and it was the only reason he helped the Colonial Rebellion that would later become the United States of America.

To me its still the best game yes the gameplay is better in 2 and the rest but in 1 its the atmosphere and story was so great it set the whole series and made it what it is there is something special in AC1 first open world game in crusades times and altair was a straight badass the original assassin.
Loved both Odyssey and Black Flag, but as many here mentioned, Black flag was a really bad ass experience; one more thing i really enjoyed in BF that is not mentioned here that unfortunately is not present anymore was the fleet you can have and how you can command it via the companion app., that would sync to your progress and really help with resource gathering.
When it comes to ship mechanics, battles, travelling & atmosphere than surely Black Flag did it best. (And Rogue, cause it's literally the same.) People often say it's rather a "pirate" game before it's an "assassin's creed" game, and that's mainly to be credited to how good navel gameplay is in Black Flag. It really felt like the game was made around it, its foundation so to speak. In the earlier iteration (AC3) it felt like an 'experiment', one that absolutely succeeded which they then evolved & improved upon to eventually become the thing we see in Black Flag. While in later iterations (Origins, Odyssey) it's more a 'gimmick', they know they had a golden goose in their hand and gladly would like to make use of it. It's not that it's badly done in these game, in fact it still can be satisfying to some degree but you can definitely feel like "Hey, guys don't forget we need to put navel gameplay in here." when these games were in development.
Ac black flag is most likely favorite assassin's creed game of majority of peole and the best part about that game isn't even assassin stuff its pirates and ships and naval combat and sailing.
Yooo everyone's talking about the wrong things, this has to be the most professionally done comparison of a video game series I've ever seen! I deeply appreciate that and so should you! props to the maker you deserve a raise lol
actually, in Origins you are able to use boats whenever you want, the difference is that those boats are small sail boats that you can use to travel over big lakes or rivers. Also when you are swimming other sailors will come up to you and try to help you, so you can jump on their boat and sit down intil you decide to jump off and keep exporing.
I've only ever played Rogue. I enjoyed the hell out of it, 100% sync, platinum trophy, 70/70 Abstergo challenges. I loved the naval combat, the Morrigan is a fine ship (especially when fully upgraded), the Storm Fortress Legendary Battle is way overkill in difficulty but I still enjoyed it. I loved listening to my crew sing shanties as we sail. I look forward to giving Black Flag a go after seeing that the ships & naval combat works almost identically to that of Rogue.
I didn't know but when i saw black flag it was 100% identical both in lets just everything except the story of course (idk if its actually not the same I've never played blackflag anyways) the ship weapons and mechanics are the same and shanties super excited to play it

I loved AC 4's naval gameplay and it was perfect for the game. However, i can say that I also really enjoyed 3's naval gameplay, due to the fact that the ship actually felt heavy and slow.
I would love to see Black Flag remade with the new combat system, abilities and gear options, but with everything else left untouched. As much as I love Odyssey, naval combat in Black Flag was spectacular, but also they had massive ships with hundreds of cannons. I think a mix of both systems would be incredible.
It's actually pretty interesting to see that if you think about it AC 3 and AC Origins were the test subjects for AC4 and Odyssey seeing as how the two previous games had smaller sections dedicated to Naval battles and were almost certainly being used to test the waters(don't mind the accidental pun) for the next game who's gameplay heavily revolved around Naval Combat
wierd how i enjoyed both origins and ac3 over 4 and ody. now that you say it 3 and origins have a lot in common. the main characters are somewhat similar aswell as the stories.
It's crazy to think what new naval system would be in newer AC game. I guess it would be like using naval combat to weaken the base and then leading your army to the base.
The bad part of Origins/Odyssey I wouldn't even say were the boats- it was the ocean. The waves in black flags/rogue is just... So perfect. It is hands down the best ocean in all of gaming.
@@lucaskkj.9290 is such a bad game bro, it has nothing to do with the assassin stuff and is dicho boring game, even Valhalla looks more like an AC game
The only AC I ever played (and still playing) is AC Odyssey and I love the naval part of the game. I hear AC 4 naval is awesome, looking forward to playing that game in the future...
I played Origins first. Not knowing much about the naval play in the previous games I was happy sailing the small river boats across streches of water, which this video completely ignored. Being able to jump off and dive anywhere was a real treat, too. Diving to a Roman ship in the middle of the night and climbing aboard to take out the crew and to loot the cargo was so much fun. Next up was Odyssey. I thought the naval travel and battles were great. Adrestia could turn on dime with the rowers or raise full sails to fly with the wind, or so I thought. When I started Rogue I was amazed. The wind and weather plays such a huge role when sailing; the waves are big, the wind is always changing and they really affect the ship's ability to maintain course or lead an attack. After Rogue the sailing in Odyssey feels like cruising in an Escalade on a beach boulevard. Sure the sunsets and storms are pure eye candy but there's no real feedback. Looking forward to starting Black Flag... BTW I started gaming again in my 40's after investing in a "work station" for my company. The last 15 years of game development is a real treasure to loot. 😅
I played as Alexios and I sailed around starting fights and having fun. I enjoyed the battles where you could win a war for people too. I had the ability where you'd shoot everyone with multiple explosive arrows and everyone came on fire. Then I'd go in and jump up and make everyone fly in the air. It was great fun. Especially the effect where you could teleport and assassinate many people at once and they'd just disappear
Thankyou for loving these videos 🤗 And yes i got plenty of plans for new videos...like in coming days i will upload evolution of assassination, combat, Parkour, templars and many more....
People complain about every AC game since IV having open world sailing and naval battles, but it's such an underused mechanic and concept in single player video games as a whole that I don't mind, and it's always been one of the best features of modern AC games, for better or worse.
Odyssey is almost perfect as BlackFlag. Odyssey just missing the recruitment option where we can take enemies ship and make it as our fleet, then send it for a mission. Remembered that i had full of Man o’war fleet 😩
That's because you probably rushed the story then, older ac games tend have a less long main story. You'd have to play other parts in between the main story like searching some upgraden etc else you will never experience it to it's full.

Black Flag is my all time favorite. Odyssey is pretty good as well. I love the naval battles specially in AC:BF all the harpooing, ship boss battles, bell diving and all that.. Love it! They should make new assassins creed based on pirates and main character should be Edwards son or something like that :P
Edward's son is Haytham
Edward son is the templar who is connor father bro
Edward's son is Haythem Kenway: The Antagonist of AC3. Haythem was groomed by the Templars as a kid, after they killed Edward during a raid of his house. He went on to have a bastard son with a native American woman: Connor Kenway, and it became father vs son, and it was the only reason he helped the Colonial Rebellion that would later become the United States of America.
It should be noted, the Morrigan is actually faster than the Jackdaw, but as such it also has less firepower

The Morrigan looks better than the Jackdaw when fully upgraded. And the mortars do more damage. And the Morrigan is more maneuverable

Im not a fan of naval combat in AC. I've always disliked it and ALWAYS try to avoid it, but Black flag and Rogue I actually like. Since Black flag is about pirates and I just fast traveled everywhere. I decided I should try naval combat more often.

They need to make another pirate assassination creed. That would be fun

I loved listening to my crew sing shanties as we sail. I look forward to giving Black Flag a go after seeing that the ships & naval combat works almost identically to that of Rogue.

AClll- Mohawk
ACIV: Black Flag- Pirate
AC: Unity- french swordsman

Odyssey is my favorite of all the AC games, and I've played them all.
Free swimming was introduced in Origins, not Odyssey.
Talking about the ships though.
yes, but odyssey has a lot more to explore
I loved odyssy…especially the massive exploration by sea…
Plus the ability to split ships in half
Same. I also love the combat and the demigod aspects. Just jump right off a lofty height! Kassandra will not die. 😄
Seas in Odyssey are pretty empty
