I want to put a thumb turn on the inside of my door instead of a key because with the key in, you can’t open it from the outside with a key which drives me mad as multiple teenagers coming and going either the door gets left unlocked or someone can’t get in because there’s a key in the door 😡
Hi Ti Heera, usually all Euro cylinder lock will have a centre/fixing screw which is what secures it in place to the door frame. I have not come across one without it. You might want to check the face plate that secures your lock if there's a screw that secures your lock to the door frame. If there's one, then that's what you need to unscrew to remove the lock. @@GlowSync thank-you for the detailed reply. I appreciate it. Turns out it was one of those door handles without a euro cylinder, just two outside pieces and the lock and inside knob were a part of the two separate pieces.
Just wondered surely you can operate the cam by turning thumb turn ? And simply slide out . No need for key ?

My lock doesn't have the loosening screw, how are those removed?
