Please read the description box for more details of this video, but huge thank you to Bri for spontaneously doing this question & answer video with me :) Bringing some medical student perspective back to the channel. Rooting for all of the medical students watching this video, but especially the ones going through the residency application process this cycle. YOU CAN DO THIS! I believe in you.
Soft spoken more like calming and soothing! 😁 Exactly what we need in a doctor, especially when it comes to women's health. We're already so vulnerable when we go to those appointments, so someone who can make you feel comfortable is crucial. Bri is gonna be great! 🎉
I feel the soft-spoken aspect and that is something I have been challenged with myself and I put myself down for that sometimes. I am also interviewing for OBGYN right now and am just staying strong in who I am and what I value ❤ Good luck Bri!!!
I loved hearing about the bonds and camaraderie between you guys and the rest of the group. That is very special, and makes for a more tolerable and enjoyable experience 😊
I loved this :’) i’m a 2nd year OMS student and have been thinking of doing OB/GYN for a while now. I can’t really see myself doing any other field, but the fear mongering online about how demanding OB is has me scared of what’s to come. I don’t want my life to ONLY be medicine. Her personality will be amazing for her patients!! I love to see other women going into this field, it makes it feel less daunting. This was like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for the great questions!!
This was a really great episode, thank you for the vulnerability. I am a counselor for med students and this is helpful for me to understand your experiences!
I wish that sub-internships were standardized. It would be so nice. As a very self-driven and empathetic student to be at a place that does not value those things is so discouraging. I have not been allowed to participate in any deliveries and have done a single ultrasound the entire month. Most of the residents are not kind at all (thank god for those that are). I regret doing this sub-i.
Rachel, it would be so amazing if you found a non-US IMG who has matched into residency to interview. Would love to see some insights from them as I’ll be IMG applying to residency to USA in couple years and it’s a big process☺️
Curious if you guys are getting more education on menopause now. All of the online menopause educators always talk about how they didn’t learn any of it in med school or residency training. With all of the new information on how important estrogen is, I’m wondering if they’ve increased the education.
@ hopefully the times are changing because all of the doctors like Menopause Taylor, Dr Mary Claire Haver, Dr Heather Hirsch, Sr Susan Hardwick Smith are all shouting from the rooftops about menopause training and offer classes for other clinicians. Yay!
I think people always trying to put labels personality-wise all the time. I am almost done with my nursing program and all I hear is different kinds of personalities I have to have for other specialties and I question my own thinking I might not be a fit. But it's not true, and it shouldn't be. Also, Bri would be a great doctor as she is so well-spoken, and empathy is one of the most important factors we need in health care. She will be a wonderful doctor.
That evaluation on her personality is cringe. Patients *need* physicians who carry brilliance and empathetic care. Don't believe me? Think "it depends"?, I dare ya to ask your patients ;)

Leave your thanks to her below if you want!
Great collab!
She’s so calm sounding! I think most women will appreciate that when she’s their doctor.
She’s SO well spoken, glad to see great physicians in this field!!❤❤
Her demeanor is definitely a strength! She presents as very comforting which most patients want in times of stress❤
As a patient I would definitely want someone like Brie as my doctor 🙋🏻♀️ you’re doing great sister, don’t let anyone put you in a box!!!

thank you for keeping up with the content!!
You bet!
I would love her a gyno! She seems very respectful and would not make me feel dumb for knowing about some diseases like endo or cancer.
Bri wishing you all the best for your applciation for OB/GYN ❤❤
Bri definitely has the look and voice of a sitcom actress - if medicine doesn’t pan out, she could always try Hollywood 🤩🎞️ 🎬
I love how Rafiki is mentoring a mini Rafiki. Bri, you are a lucky woman to work with Rachel as she’s a gem. Best of luck with your career, Bri. ❤❤
There you are!! 🩷I always feel so comforted by your comments.
Thank you!! You’re too sweet.

We learn a lot about menopause in residency. Not sure about medical school?

Has anyone watched the substance?
No what’s that!
