I totally disagree with the steel cage take. The escape of the cage is what makes the match exciting, especially when someone is on the brink of escape and someone gets thrown back into the ring. So many classic moments and memories Edge vs Matt Hardy was unbelievable. If you wanna watch a match where the match ends in pinfall or submission inside a cage then thats why WWE created hell in a cell
People don't understand the point of cage matches anymore. The idea was that you beat your opponent so badly, that you humiliated them by being able to just walk out. It was a statement. 'I beat you so badly you couldn't stop me climbing a cage'
The Problem is that with steel cage matches, BOTH scenarios happen, escaping the cage AND someone wins by pinfall or submission, so there isn't much uniqueness to the cage matches.
Mine is when a guy gets clotheslined to send them over the rope but they botch it and instead of improvising or doing it again the guy just hops out the ring himself like he got pushed over by wind

My main pet peeve is when wrestlers have moves in their arsenal for no reason. And they don’t even perform them right or fit their character. There’s so many good moves wrestlers don’t use anymore. Everybody does suicide dives like they’re highfliers. You’ve got brawlers that can’t even do a worked punch. There are way less technicians than there used to be. Wrestlers prioritize “spots” more than they do storytelling during a match. I wish the matches still had the in match story telling that the ruthless aggression era had💯. Wrestlers don’t know in ring psychology like they used to. One bad facial expression or movement can ruin a part of a match. There’s so many young bucks. Not enough Randy’s , chad gables, or Mr perfects.
Have not heard this one in a while, but the "You can't wrestle" chants when the person being targeted obviously can, they are just not liked. Before the turn around on opinion for John Cena, he used to get this all the time.

Don’t TELL me they’re back so I start popping early, let the music hit. If it’s new music let the surprise pop the crowd. The only reason I think they do it is if it’s someone they’re worried about the pop for

For me the most annoying thing of wrestling is the lack of competence between brands, why have 2 brands “competing” against each other but they never deliver the concept
I agree but I think there’s too much movement for it too feel not forced. When I think of 2000s I think DX as mainstays on raw, undertaker mysterio on smackdown… when I think now I couldn’t tell you who’s on what brand definitely
Why would you want that when nothing happens to the losing or winning brands? Survivor Series 2016-2021 had brand warfare and literally no consequences or rewards followed.
Not my biggest pet peeve but just wanted to let you know you have helped me and you still are with my life whilst a lot of bad stuff has been going on and now after a year of crap thrown at me I’m officially going to my first pro wrestling training and I couldn’t be happier Thank you Santi
The problem with Steel cages ending in pinfalls is the fact the "no escape" thing is what Hell in a Cell is for. Steel cages are different by allowing escape as a win condition
I think Samantha has given us enough content to know that she wouldn’t mess up wrestlers announcements. Gotta give her some credit, she knows how to match tones to the superstars.
My biggest pet peeve is that titles never change on regular programming. I’m not saying that the title should be changed on regular TV all the time, but it takes all the suspense out of matches when they only change hands on pay-per-view. Just look at the attitude era. Titles changed hands quite often on regular TV and it was the best era in the history of wrestling.
My wrestling pet peeve is wrestling rules applies for some not others for example title holders must defend titles every 30 days while champions like Roman don’t defend title every months on end
Wrestlers dissappear in royal rumble matches for huge amount of time , laying down on the ground for like 20 minutes, just to pop up when a certain wrestler enters the ring.
Yeah, and if they'd have actually watched any of his matches in AEW they would that he BARELY has the ability to go anymore! Maybe he gained some stamina after a bit, I wouldn't know because I quit giving a shit about him when he started bitching about fans without masks trying to approach him AFTER he had DOVE into a Chicago crowd, most of which were NOT wearing masks either, TWICE, and then blocked a guy on twitter for pointing it out! I am so pissed off at myself for getting caught up in the hype when he returned to wrestling! He's just a whiney bitch that needs to go away!
My biggest pet peeve has got to be the champions continually keeping the title because it's protected by their stable, ie: the bloodline, damage ctrl, and the judgment day... a stable save once in a while is fine but constantly is old and lazy booking in my opinion
Royal Rumble matches having little to no surprise entrants due to all the Superstars declaring for the match, goes hand in hand with the fact there's not many Royal Rumble qualifying matches too
I know bills gotta be paid so I don’t mind it, I just wish it wasn’t always suicide dive , face celebrates, commercial, comes back to heel has them in a headlock
Here's mine and the reason why I stopped watching: Spanish announcers. Watching the shows on the cable provider don't allow to change the language, and I got stuck with the Spanish announcers, they got to a point where it became ridiculous, they were talking about anything but the matches, and when they talked about matches, one of them gave spoilers so he could pretend he's some kind of psychic. I can't remember actual spoilers they gave, but here's an example of how they did them: -Here it comes the returning world champion -Oh it's Jinder Mahal -Could you imagine if this is just a swerve and the Rock comes back, then beats up Jinder and then challenges Roman Reigns? *Proceeds to happen -HAHA, I TOLD YOU, I TOLD YOU, I'M ALWAYS RIGHT.
The 2016 Dean Ambrose cash in will always be the Best cash in Sell. The stare down between Mike Chioda and Ambrose is impressive like it was a serious business and Chioda confirming the cash in just 1 call.

Don't know if they still do this, but the varying level of damage a spine buster does in segments. I've seen dudes lay down for like 3 min from a spine buster before
The ref bump is the worst. The referee doesn't see or hear anything for 3 minutes because he was touched hard. And why there is not a subsitute ref waiting backstage if this happens?
Mine is when they have a person or team lose at a ple and then proceed to push them the next week on raw or smackdown as some sort of powerful force. A recent example is damage ctrl losing at wargames and then on smackdown the next week they have a segment where they are seeking gold and are becoming the most dominant woman's faction ever. That would have been great if they just won wargames the week prior.
When they make the heels say stuff so they would get booed even in their hometown like them getting cheered once a year isnt gonna hurt and its cool for the crowd to cheer a heel
My biggest pet peeve in wrestling is when you know the champion is going to win the match. I think this is from the long title reins of the champion. I do think this year will be different though bc they really focused on this in 2023. For example Bianca and Gunter. So hopefully this year we will get less predictable matches!
Mine are tag matches where the baby faces take forever to make a tag after hitting a move to drop their opponent and both the baby face and heel tag at the same time.
The one annoying thing that I think of when an opponent gets eliminated from like a Royal Rumble or a Battle Royale match, they will comeback and eliminate the superstar who eliminated that person. Now that’s annoying
This will always piss me off: triple threat and fatal four tag team matches where only two wrestlers are allowed at one time. Why does another team have to wait in the corner and why would anyone want to tag someone else other than their teammate?
Mine is, when the ref sometimes have leeway on the rules as the match progresses. Sometimes he/she will stop counting or allow a wrestler to get hit by an object when the match clearly was a regular match. I’m talking about you Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar
my biggest wrestling pet peeve is when there's any match with more than 2 wrestlers (like the royal rumble, mitb match, tag team match, triple threat, fatal 4-5 way) and everyone starts laying down after 5 minutes and it basically becomes a 1 on 1 match until someone gets up and the cycle repeats that way for the length of the match
I've always wondered how pro wrestling referees function in day to day life?!? I mean, a stiff wind could be very dangerous to someone who's THAT delicate, right!?!
My pet peeves are 1. When a Royal Rumble winner doesn’t main event WM. 2. When they take forever to climb a ladder in ladder matches, whist continuously looking around for someone to stop them. 3. When someone wins a KOTR tournament, for them to automatically have their name change to King *their name* remember King Stone cold? Me neither. 4. Legends coming back, cutting a promo saying they are back “home” only to be never seen again for months-years *cough, the rock cough* 5. When they throw a faction together based on their skin colour (hurt business, nation of domination, new day and the pride) 6. Booing the 30th RR entrant because it’s not a returning/suprise entrant. 7. Unifying titles only to split them in a couple years, to unify them again later down the line. 8. Not enough shock heel/face turns (you can predict them weeks/months in advance now)
Disagree with you on the Samantha take, she crafted and catered to the superstar, she would ask them specifically how they would like it and if they would like a custom announcement. So of course she wouldn't announce Roman Reigns the same why as she does with Chelsea, she would've done something more serious like how she does with Solo. The custom announcement gave the wrestlers in my opinion some extra personality and made them more unique. It also helped newcomers or super casuals by giving them a better and faster idea to figure out what that superstar is just by how Samantha announced them. Also it was just fun and she's fantastic at her job.
My biggest pro wrestling pet peeve is when the opponent just magically happens to fall into position for the wrestler's finisher. Example: Rey Mysterio and the 619
I absolutely hate in royal rumble matches, when a wrestler is trying to eliminate some but a different wrestler goes and starts attacking the person trying to eliminate someone else. Like why are you stopping an elimination that will help YOUR odds to win the match???
Here’s one I can’t believe people never mention. When one wrestler throws another guy into the ropes, the wrestler will often bend down at the waist and stand still, while the other guy bounces off the ropes and kicks him in the face. It makes zero sense and it happens all the time
The crazy beef part isn’t really a big deal, on the condition it’s not legitimate beef. In Sheamus’ and Castagnoli fka Cesaro’s case, they had a good story going with the best of seven series and only to be ruined just for us fans to forget they were feuding, I agree with that bit; the only silver lining is that The Bar became one of the greatest tag teams of the modern era. What’s commendable is that Cody Rhodes and Seth “Freakin” Rollins despite their legitimate dislike towards one another are still able to keep it professional even in storyline. When they gotta tag, they’ll tag. Storyline wise, the steel cage match where someone escapes the cage through adversity makes it intriguing. All depends on how it’s executed.
I recently went to my first WWE event live (RAW pheonix) and I think I can explain a few of these. As fans you want to do what you see on TV, you want to do a this is awesome chant, you want to do a what chant, ect ect, so it makes you basically look for an excuse for the whole event to say these chants you saw on TV. I think this explains a lot of the over used chants.

No, it IS crappy! I HATE when someone wins because they got thrown like a bitch into the cage and it broke!
I agree with you. It should be the other way round, pinfall or submission should never happen. Should be win by escape only
My biggest pet peeve is when referees take one thousand years to get up after a slight little bump
Carmella’s cash in comes to mind 😂 Mike Chioda took ages to confirm with her
Mine is when a guy gets clotheslined to send them over the rope but they botch it and instead of improvising or doing it again the guy just hops out the ring himself like he got pushed over by wind
Mine is when superstars take 10 years to make a tag by crawling knowing they can just stand up to tag their tag partner
-The most annoying thing for me is how wwe would have someone make an entrance
-have an unrelated recap once they get into the ring
-Go to commercials
- do another unrealated recap
-followed by a small backstage promo
-then come back to the person who made an enterance 10 minutes ago then cut the match in half by going to commercial when the whole match could have been aired without a commercial
Mine is when a match builds to a logical finish that makes sense. Then goes on for another 5 minutes to end on a flat finish. i.e. a small package.
Have not heard this one in a while, but the "You can't wrestle" chants when the person being targeted obviously can, they are just not liked. Before the turn around on opinion for John Cena, he used to get this all the time.
YUP! Remember when people said he couldn’t cut a promo but nowadays he’s considered one of the best on the mic.
I mean that was because Cena wouldn’t open his move set and played it safe. I do agree with you but there was backstory
@@jamiek9780couldn't cut a promo? John Cena he had some cheesy promos but everyone knew he could definitely talk
@@JarularaWell even if he did, the way he was booked would still bring him hate so good for him that he played it safe and avoided injuries, after all he was carrying the WWE on his shoulders for the better part of a decade.
Cena worked really hard on his move sets in 2010s but he has always been stiff in the ring, he was never the smoothest or effortless.
The biggest one for me is the constant deafening boos when Dominick Mysterio tries to cut a promo, it was especially apparent with the awesome truth promo recently, it was a fun bit for a few weeks but it has gone on for way too long
I agree. It makes it really hard for Dom to get better on the Mic if he isn't able to cut any promos without deafening boos. I think people singing Seth's theme during promos is also a pet peeve of mine. Let. Them. Speak. I want to hear what they have to say
I agree, he’s never going to improve on the mic if he’s not given the chance to talk. They may have handcuffed him here because now fans want it to be a “thing”
@@queenautumnween2796 The thing is with Dom is most of his backstage segments and skits such as him getting arrested at the Mysterio home, I actually really enjoy! He can be super entertaining and can be even better than he is now, but he isnt gonna get to that point if he keeps getting boo'd for "heel heat"
@@jamiek9780 fans will continue to do this bit for YEARS. Fans will not let up on a bit. Unless they decide to turn him face again, which would completely ruin him, I don't see this ending anytime soon, which will start to ruin his development of his promo skills. I think he needs a little more time in NXT, not because he isn't ready, he's been great on the main roster, but to help him grow on the Mic. At least in NXT, he can actually speak. I think his time with the north American title was great and really helped him in his career
Dom is getting force boos it's cringe too me crowd becoming NPC day by day
I agree with the submission take because Daniel Bryan had to change his finisher at SummerSlam because John Cena wasn't going to tap out.
I hate cena for that
Been binge listening to your videos while I was at work today, great videos
It is soo annoying when they cut to a commercial break when a match is really cooking. It makes me lose interest.
Mine is when people cutting a promo announce someone as a mystery tag partner or whatever and don’t let the music introduce them. Especially for returns. Don’t TELL me they’re back so I start popping early, let the music hit. If it’s new music let the surprise pop the crowd. The only reason I think they do it is if it’s someone they’re worried about the pop for
Mine is when a really long title reign, like Roman’s barely has any matches. The opposite thing happened with CM punk which is why it his title reign so legendary
My pet peeve of THIS video is there were no TH-cam comments at all.. only from twitter. And quite a few of those twitter comments had no likes or whatever on them.
The YT comments left on your community post had some damn good per peeves.
I agree
HOOOOO
Here’s mine: when a wrestler is in a tag match barely got hurt and crawl so slow for a tag💀
Mine is fans chanting “WHAT?”
Me too it’s annoying
What?
It do be annoying
WHAT?
Facts, it was funny before but now it just annoys me now
Mine is the fact that triple threat or larger matches are no DQ by default. Especially because that stipulation is rarely used.
For me the most annoying thing of wrestling is the lack of competence between brands, why have 2 brands “competing” against each other but they never deliver the concept
I say to troll those that notice maybe..go TH-cam - are you a good person by living waters
I agree but I think there’s too much movement for it too feel not forced. When I think of 2000s I think DX as mainstays on raw, undertaker mysterio on smackdown… when I think now I couldn’t tell you who’s on what brand definitely
@@Jpthaprince Rollins is def a RAW guy
Because the target audience of wwe is those who don’t think too much
Why would you want that when nothing happens to the losing or winning brands? Survivor Series 2016-2021 had brand warfare and literally no consequences or rewards followed.
Not my biggest pet peeve but just wanted to let you know you have helped me and you still are with my life whilst a lot of bad stuff has been going on and now after a year of crap thrown at me I’m officially going to my first pro wrestling training and I couldn’t be happier
Thank you Santi
Hope you smash it! Good luck to you
@@heateddragon7912 thanks bro
I hate how titles never change hands in title matches in general shows, it just makes the match outcome predictable
That Amazon take aged like fine wine with the Netflix deal being announced👀
The problem with Steel cages ending in pinfalls is the fact the "no escape" thing is what Hell in a Cell is for. Steel cages are different by allowing escape as a win condition
9:30 Did Santi just predicted Raw going to Netflix?!? He can never beat the WWE industry plant allegations
I think Samantha has given us enough content to know that she wouldn’t mess up wrestlers announcements. Gotta give her some credit, she knows how to match tones to the superstars.
Plus the Chelsea Green chant is because thats her personality. Of course if its Roman Reigns she will say his name with his personality and etc.
Plus, I’m sure she wouldn’t make any drastic changes without consulting with the superstars first
My biggest pet peeve is that titles never change on regular programming. I’m not saying that the title should be changed on regular TV all the time, but it takes all the suspense out of matches when they only change hands on pay-per-view. Just look at the attitude era. Titles changed hands quite often on regular TV and it was the best era in the history of wrestling.
My biggest gripe is when Wrestlers attempt something in a manner that only makes sense if the opponent reversing it.
My wrestling pet peeve is wrestling rules applies for some not others for example title holders must defend titles every 30 days while champions like Roman don’t defend title every months on end
Lol that title rule hasn’t existed for decades
Wrestlers dissappear in royal rumble matches for huge amount of time , laying down on the ground for like 20 minutes, just to pop up when a certain wrestler enters the ring.
My biggest wrestling grievance is when a non wrestling fan says that wrestling is fake. Like who cares?!
I think that the “ref gets knocked out” thing is used only to cheaply extend matches and gets used way too much
Back in the Attitude Era, sure, nowadays I don't see it often outside of Roman's matches.
Mine is that rhea ripley can interfere wheneve she wants and she thinks shes a male but nobody ever attacks her and does anything about it 😭
They did "you still got it" for Punk at MSG
Like guys...All In was only 4 months ago
Clearly those fans are more casual
The worst part is that he don't got it anymore
My biggest pet peeve has got to be the champions continually keeping the title because it's protected by their stable, ie: the bloodline, damage ctrl, and the judgment day... a stable save once in a while is fine but constantly is old and lazy booking in my opinion
But thats the entire point of having a stable. If you have a bunch of allies, why wouldn't they help you?
Super mf lazy
Is that the point of being part of a team? For extra security
00:12 “it’s human nature to be the moistcritikal”
Royal Rumble matches having little to no surprise entrants due to all the Superstars declaring for the match, goes hand in hand with the fact there's not many Royal Rumble qualifying matches too
My biggest pet peeve is when a match turns into a “beat up this specific body part for 15mins”
Streak vs Career lol
For the one talking about commercials during main events I like how AEW does it bc they have to show commercials but you can still see the match
There's been times where WWE does that aswell
I know bills gotta be paid so I don’t mind it, I just wish it wasn’t always suicide dive , face celebrates, commercial, comes back to heel has them in a headlock
Here's mine and the reason why I stopped watching:
Spanish announcers.
Watching the shows on the cable provider don't allow to change the language, and I got stuck with the Spanish announcers, they got to a point where it became ridiculous, they were talking about anything but the matches, and when they talked about matches, one of them gave spoilers so he could pretend he's some kind of psychic.
I can't remember actual spoilers they gave, but here's an example of how they did them:
-Here it comes the returning world champion
-Oh it's Jinder Mahal
-Could you imagine if this is just a swerve and the Rock comes back, then beats up Jinder and then challenges Roman Reigns?
*Proceeds to happen
-HAHA, I TOLD YOU, I TOLD YOU, I'M ALWAYS RIGHT.
An annoying thing is WWE announcing “EVERY SINGLE” participant in the royal rumble matches, you can announce 5,10 but not 27
They do this to lower your hype for return to not make you disappointed at the event.
How is hyping the he rumble annoying
@@pleaseshutup7053 You don't need to announce more than a few guys to hype it up! Surprises are nice too!
The 2016 Dean Ambrose cash in will always be the Best cash in Sell. The stare down between Mike Chioda and Ambrose is impressive like it was a serious business and Chioda confirming the cash in just 1 call.
Came back to this video because 9:13 Santi mentioning Amazon buying the rights to raw and in reality it turned out legit but with Netflix is still crazy !!!Insane foresight my friend!!! @MrSantiZap
That would have been great if they just won wargames the week prior.
yeah ive notice that too heels win the week to week and faces win the PLE..
The outcomes are usually predictable, it’s how they win that is harder to predict
The Carmella cash in angers me to this day
I hate when a submission puts someone to sleep that wouldn't put you to sleep🤣
Mine are tag matches where the baby faces take forever to make a tag after hitting a move to drop their opponent and both the baby face and heel tag at the same time.
I’m convinced that the referee that Carmella used to cash in wasn’t a referee bc he was so stupid 😭
YOU CAN BOOK HEELS TO BE STRONG, Roman should rarely have to need assistance in matches. They ended up making him look weaker at times because of that
Faces end the show before a PPV standing tall against the heels only to lose in the PPV, talk about predictable booking
The one annoying thing that I think of when an opponent gets eliminated from like a Royal Rumble or a Battle Royale match, they will comeback and eliminate the superstar who eliminated that person. Now that’s annoying
Naomi's suffered from that many times 😭
This will always piss me off: triple threat and fatal four tag team matches where only two wrestlers are allowed at one time. Why does another team have to wait in the corner and why would anyone want to tag someone else other than their teammate?
Mine is, when the ref sometimes have leeway on the rules as the match progresses. Sometimes he/she will stop counting or allow a wrestler to get hit by an object when the match clearly was a regular match. I’m talking about you Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar
"ArE yOu SuRe?" and they make this face: 😧
my biggest wrestling pet peeve is when there's any match with more than 2 wrestlers (like the royal rumble, mitb match, tag team match, triple threat, fatal 4-5 way) and everyone starts laying down after 5 minutes and it basically becomes a 1 on 1 match until someone gets up and the cycle repeats that way for the length of the match
I've always wondered how pro wrestling referees function in day to day life?!? I mean, a stiff wind could be very dangerous to someone who's THAT delicate, right!?!
Didnt know you had an youtube channel , only followed you on tiktok , big up santi , chop chop wrestling boy
Royal rumble spoilers. We don’t need to know 25 of the 30 superstars beforehand
My pet peeves are
Me neither.
4. Legends coming back, cutting a promo saying they are back “home” only to be never seen again for months-years *cough, the rock cough*
5. When they throw a faction together based on their skin colour (hurt business, nation of domination, new day and the pride)
Why can you win a steel cage match by walking out the door? With a team of refs on standby to even open it for you.
"Why are you handing me this breifcase?" - Every ref ever
That “are you sure” instead of just telling the time keeper to ring the bell
My biggest pro wrestling pet peeve is when the opponent just magically happens to fall into position for the wrestler's finisher.
Example: Rey Mysterio and the 619
I agree! Every time somebody is facing Rey Mysterio they suddenly decide to rest on the bottom rope
Like can't you get up man 😭@@webmaster-brawlstars5422
I absolutely hate in royal rumble matches, when a wrestler is trying to eliminate some but a different wrestler goes and starts attacking the person trying to eliminate someone else. Like why are you stopping an elimination that will help YOUR odds to win the match???
Royal Rumble time when it’s so hard to toss people over the top rope only once a year.
Here’s one I can’t believe people never mention. When one wrestler throws another guy into the ropes, the wrestler will often bend down at the waist and stand still, while the other guy bounces off the ropes and kicks him in the face. It makes zero sense and it happens
all the time
Yeah the Irish whip move really never made sense. If someone threw me into the turnbuckle, I’d just stop moving. That’s it.
When Brock Lesnar is about to do the F5 and the ref decides to stand really close 🤣🤣🤣
When the commentator says it’s over after a finisher like obviously after hearing them say that the match won’t be over
Wrong
Mine is when a superstar finally gets his or her push then they get barried the next month or two
Kofi Kingston 😢
The Vince McMahon special booking
I recently went to my first WWE event live (RAW pheonix) and I think I can explain a few of these. As fans you want to do what you see on TV, you want to do a this is awesome chant, you want to do a what chant, ect ect, so it makes you basically look for an excuse for the whole event to say these chants you saw on TV. I think this explains a lot of the over used chants.
I like the long title reigns. It makes titles and reigns have a more realism feel to it
