I never realized how crappy the mismatched stock pieces were until i installed this product. It looks sick! Matte black with beefy bolt hardware. I'm sorry i waited so long to do this upgrade. Install was pretty easy. the shifter piece i tried to save, but if you're not, just drill right through it. makes it alot easier to remove.

After installing mine today here are some take aways that I have:
    1. This video does not do a good job of showing the entire process of taking the console out of your truck. You need auto trim removal tools to help the process out.
    2. The console shifter trim is a PITA to remove (even with drilling out the plastic welds). In the video he says after you drill them out and push them out, the piece comes out fairly easy. What he didn't mention is that the trim piece is glued down in vicinity of the plastic welds (you can check out a few other install videos and they will show the same thing). You need to get something to pry it off.
    3. The cupholder trim looks good installed, BUT the clips do not line up with the OEM clips that were on the bottom. I remeasured it a few times before drilling to try to make it line up but it still wouldn't. Doesn't look bad but i can tell that there is a gap where there shouldn't be.
I would buy this product again but I wish AJT was a little more transparent in the process rather than showing us an "install" video on a center console that has already been taken out of the truck and had all the holes drilled in it.

Everything you said is bang on. After installing it on my truck, I can notice a little gap which really bothers me. I'll have to use to glue one of these days and be careful when you put back your shifter, the thread is in plastic so very cheap.

      I completely agree.

When purchasing this I saw it said assembly was easy. Unfortunately there was nothing easy about this. The drilling and remove of the shift knob trim was a PITA! Looks great overall, but maybe switch the difficulty rating!

IMO - "Install" video should show the center piece removal and the cutting/drilling. That is obviously the most difficult part and what many of us are here to see.

Thanks, AJT! I put in the black cup holder/shift holder trim rings with the red anodized aluminum screws in my Tundra TRD Pro. It looks like it was supposed to come this way. I can't get over how fantastic it looks!

You guys rock. Toyota really loves that crappy grey plastic and chrome

You guys have really outdone yourselves, so many cool ideas to change and accent your vehicle, I just ordered the black shifter trim insert, that chrome around it has been bugging me for years. I was going to attempt to paint it and I came across your channel. Will most definitely be looking at some other items on your site!

Why are the locations of the drill-outs not even close to being entire holes? This is very shotting design work and the fasteners used won't do a thing if they're not even in a proper hole. Glad I watched this before purchasing so I can save some money and not get these.

Great idea for starting the blackout but I cringe a bit having to drill holes. Why didn't you include the clips in the mold?

Then you would not have the allen bolt look.

Just installed. It’s a bit of a pain in the butt for the gear shifter trim….However, I think it’s worth it. The all black looks great

I’m currently doing my tundra and when I got to the part of drilling into my plastic of my truck I cringed a little. If you don’t want to drill DONT BUY.

Eager to get mine…. Wondering if you guys will ever make a whole console custom for the tundra? Perhaps a few different styles. ( RUGGED, fancy, tech or tactical styles) Just a thought…

This is what should happen. Sell the center surround as a complete drop-in replacement.

I want the dam cup holders bigger, cannot fit any larger cups than 12oz. I miss my 2003 tundra with larger cup holders.

I was hoping they would just pop in using the clips instead of taking it all apart. I painted my cup holder chrome ring and all I used was a plastic pry tool and it just popped out.
