These are great and look so good. But wonder why they don’t sit flush. Is the backing on your rings too deep? My kit sits just like this and I thought I installed them incorrectly, but I guess it is correct.

Great video. Easy to follow. For those of us that have never disconnected the electrical plug, it would have been nice if you included that. I just left it plugged in and had to go by feel for a couple of the screws since I couldn’t flip it over all the way, lol.

This wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Ended up with some surface scrapes to the PWB....but it still works. Key fob looks cool when done though.

Great video and great mod. Easy process, just take your time and step by step. Took about an hour with just a screwdriver needed. Looks more intimidating than it really is and super happy with final result.

Installed mine and it looks so much better now. Took all of 10-15 seconds. Love AJT upgrades. Good quality stuff that makes your Tacoma look even better. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with for the 2024 Tacoma

I gave myself a headache wondering how a dealer could charge that much for a key and programming. GOD BLESS MIKE @ AJT. This thing made it so easy to replace the housing while keeping the key- and ignore the dealership and their lies. I had a hairline crack form in one- Mike replaced it asap after I sent a pic. Awesome people and excellent product !!!

I never realized how crappy the mismatched stock pieces were until i installed this product. It looks sick! Matte black with beefy bolt hardware. I'm sorry i waited so long to do this upgrade. Install was pretty easy. the shifter piece i tried to save, but if you're not, just drill right through it. makes it alot easier to remove.

Just changed mine for the FJ cruise . Having a tiny screw driver helps a lot . Very easy thanks for the products

Man I wanna do this, but this seems like quite a bit of work. Not difficult work but a lot of tedious bits. Will need to set time aside for sure though and I just pause and rewatch a bunch 😅

All the way from Walvis Bay, Namibia, Southern Africa. Ordered these for an FJ Cruiser via Amazon about a month ago, and got them after about 2 weeks. Installation was quick and easy. The hardest part is removing the actual key🤦🏻‍♂️. I try cutting it like what you said and it just doesnt come off.. im trying to break it, and hopefully i can get the key out..

I am having a really difficult time trying to get the trim ring pushed into my 2023 4Runner Limited 4WD. The red center button went in just fine. The black ring does not want to go in and I don't want to break either the ring or the switch. I need help.

I just installed this and its definitely harder to get the center console back in then you are showing lol. I'm still not sure if its all properly aligned but it feels like it

What a sob! I just used wire cutters and cut away carefully. Definitely not a save the old case kinda deal. Happy with results though.

Do you plan are making the center console storage bigger? Those built in shelves inside the console are annoying and take up so much room. Contemplating that cupholder though since my cups fall out when I make certain bends 😅

For everyone’s situational awareness, these AJT key fobs don’t work on the 2024 Tundra models. I just got my AJT key fob today and it didn’t work for my 2024 Tundra Platinum. The internal design is slightly different and won’t close properly.

Just bought a 24 Tundra Plat and yes I hate those cup holders. These are so much better and improves the aesthetics as well! 👍

I'm struggling to understand what issue this case swap resolves. I mean, what's the point? Beyond that, how would you use the physical key when it's no longer attached to something you can turn it with?

Are the rings and buttons interchangeable between a 4Runner and a Tacoma or are they different sizes?

You're using a thinner battery. I had to line it all up and hold it together as I pushed the battery against the negative retainer until it all clicked together. Easiest way is once you have it squeezed together rest the fob on its side on bench and use a small flat head to move battery in position and apply pressure on the battery ans squeezing the fob together until it can close.

I have a Platinum, does the cup holder assembly remove the same way?

Big fan of this comp, I’m on my fourth AJT key fob-2 Fjs, a Tacoma, and now a 2022 4Runner. note a cross tightening pattern seems to help the screws settle.

FYI. This is not compatible with the 2024 Toyota Tundra. I ordered one and the internals are not the same as in this video.
