My buddy had a supercharged Joe Gibbs and his converter locked up with the "Tow Haul" button pressed lol, but I'm certain he had his tuner make that happen.

@@SiskBuilt I’ve always wondered. Also, My manual 1-2 shift is instant, 2-3 is a little slower and 3-4 is really slow response time, I wish it was all super responsive or had a way to go full manual in the tune with a switch
@@SiskBuilt also if you ever figure out how to make it full manual shift electronically without a valve body swap, plz do a video on it

swap an 8 speed in there! zero gravity performance has an 8 speed controller, the 8l90 is an extremely strong trans once you address their shortcomings and they are so much more fun compared to a 4 speed
I’d want to do a 10 speed if I were to swap a again!

My 80e doesn’t hold 1st either and has a shift kit. I was doing more research and your tuner can help out with it. There’s something to do with the tune. I had the exact same trans in my nnbs before I built it (again) and would hold 1st no issue
I’m going to look into it and see what needs to change!
@@SiskBuilt I had the same issue with my 60e. Go to the shift scheduling tab in trans on hptuners, click D1 and change the 1 -> 2 shift speed to a high number like 200, do it in the D1 Urban table as well.
Tell your tuner abt it shifting to 2nd not sure what it is but my tuner made it so it stays in 1st.

Cam position sensor or crank position sensor. Make sure you use OEM (AC Delco). It’s worth a shot… I’d start with the cam position sensor, it happened to me after I LQ9 6.0 swapped an 06 1500. I put all new sensors and all the goodies on the new engine but I used an untrustworthy brand for the cam sensor because the OEM was a few days out. Well once I fired her up it was inconsistent... it wouldn’t fire up on the first crank, I would have to back the key off and crank again to start (mostly on cold starts or about 15 minutes after shutting it off). Had to do some troubleshooting but found that the china cam position sensor was no good. Also, I know this comment is over 1 year old but I hope this helps anyone out, sorry for the long paragraph, just sharing some experience.

@@CaptainOgg222save your money bro, a choppin 402 is gonna impress anyone you can fit in the passenger seat, your gonna turn your vehicle into a big money pit with boost and your more than likely gonna break stuff over and over again. Get a nitrous bottle and run a 150 shot when you need too race it’s certainly alot cheaper than dumping 8 grand into a supercharger. It’s better too have a vehicle that’s on the road that’s a little slower than a project you never get to drive
My truck does that 1-2 shift on its own too and its annoying
