    Great list! Totally agree with you on buttons and belt loops on shorts. It is harder than it should be to find stretch/yoga waist hiking bottoms! In 2022, I wore Rab shorts, which I see you mentioned in your Camino Frances packing list, and OR Krypta capri legging pants. The waist on the OR capris was a little snug when pulling the down over my hips, so I am hunting for a replacement for the capris and keeping my fingers crossed that they bring them back with a more stretching waistband next season.

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another likeminded person! Yay! I loooooooved the Rab shorts. They were a bit tight to pull over my hips for the first month of wear. But the elastic relaxed enough that it wasn't an issue after that. And, they still fit great despite the slight stretching. I'll keep my eye out for the capris!

    Alpkit make hiking shorts with no zip or button. They have a 2" (5cm) elastic waistband. Very comfortable.

    Dear Lainey,
    My sister & I are walking the Chemin Du Puy starting April 4, 2024.
    I am staunchly bringing my Costco lightweight quilt. My sister thinks, since we'll be staying mostly in Gites (demi pensions), she doesn't need one.
    I sent her your "Women's Packing List for Spring/Summer" but she seems to need a " from God's lips to your ears" final answer. 🙂

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Joyce, April will likely still be quite cold on the Aubrac Plateau. If you sleep cold, it's probably a good idea to bring the quilt. We found that most gîtes had blankets but they weren't always very large or warm. We also walked the Le Puy in summer, so I wasn't looking for the blankets. Bon Chemin!

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful. It's the Coolmax Cocoon. alnk.to/9xgF46b I've had this one since 2015. When I upgrade (eventually), I'll go with a silk one. Lighter, packs smaller, but more expensive.

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. A full size. I'm usually a 7.5 and I have an 8.5. It's definitely a preference whether to size up 1/2 or a full size.

    How much you spend depends per day one person in Camino

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely. We save a little money traveling together, but albergues charge per person, and most meals are still per person, so it's almost the exact same as traveling with two people.

    Looks like a great backpack! Were you able to try it on in the store to make sure it fit?

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really love it. It's fully adjustable on the back panel, so I didn't need to try it on. USWE kindly sent us this to try. I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't absolutely love it. I have more details on the bag in my Invierno packing list video: th-cam.com/video/vlEGq-eT96w/w-d-xo.html

    hi. so do you need to bring a sleeping bag for the camino? I am planning only to bring the cocoon liner

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on the time of year and if you want to use the blankets that most albergues have. In the summer, we recommend only a sleep liner.

    I was thinking of taking 2 T-shirts for hiking instead of 1 so that I could wash one out and if not dry, hang it from my pack the next day. Didn't your shirt smell after all of those days??? 🙂

    • @DaysWeSpend
      @DaysWeSpend  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It totally works to bring 2 hiking shirts. I’ve found that my shirt is always dry (enough) the next morning. I always wear a Merino wool shirt. It dries quickly and doesn’t smell the next day.
      As long as you bring a quick dry fabric, you won’t have a problem with wet shirts. Socks on the other hand, even wool ones take forever to dry since they’re thick.
