And then we want 20 Hormagaunts. And then we want 20 Hormagaunts. And then we want 20 Hormagaunts.
And then we want 20 Hormagaunts. And then we want 20 Hormagaunts. And then we want 20 Hormagaunts.
Fellow poorhammer fan, I see you
And cause we got points... 20 nurogaunts
After painting the first hundred, the edge highlighting just goes out the window
and then we want 20 termigaut and then we want 20 termigaut and then we want 20 termigaut and then we want 20 termigaut and then we want 20 termigaut and then we want 20 termigaut.
and then we want 22 neurogaunt and then we want 22 neurogaunt and then we want 22 neurogaunt.
oh fk im out of deployment zone. could i tranfer some to reserved?
The most impressive thing is that you didn't use a single flipping movement tray
That is a fact!
Word
I run 160 battleline in my unending swarm and used to use movement trays. When it comes to screening, pile-in, consolidating, and stringing out models to get into aura range. Movement trays become in the way
Movement trays are overrated.
Idk they do help transporting them
This is the exact amount of disposable bodies that a commissar wishes he could have at his disposal.
This does look like the Imperal gaurd
I found a list of 60 gargoyles, 120 hormagaunts, 120 termagaunts, 66 neurogaunt+nodebeast, Warlorded neurotyrant, totalling 367 models on the table. The deep strike feels necessary at that point, cause with that many models without deepstrike you'd run out of space to put them all!
Was that the Poorhammer meme list?
@@DnBGolf i don't think so, but I do remember that list and I reckon it was probably the inspiration
How many points?
@@pyrofrog368 2k
As a regular swarm player, I both congratulate you on your excellent choice of army and sympathise with your ravaged lower back.
As much as I love watching you play Imperial Guard and hear your insight to an army you know inside out and backwards, as a Nids player happy to see swarm getting some love
Fellow nids players, don't usually watch your channel but loving this video
Mordian please I can't afford to start anymore armies... After this one.
Its still a better problem to have than cant find the time to finish painting the partially complete army thats been sitting in your craft area for over a year and half
@@mikeloeven don't call me out like that 😆
I remember seeing Poorhammer talking about that meme list.
I am happy seeing it
THE INVOLUNTARY CACKLE I MADE WHEN THE ARMYS DEPLOYMENT PHOTO FIRST SHOWED UP AT 8 MINUTES!!
"Did you go to washroom before tournament?"
"No, why?"
Starts unpacking.
The feeling of supremacy just rolling up with 240+ PAINTED minis absolutely covering the whole deployment zone must give. The intimidation alone must be great!!!
A wise man once said "Movement wins games" so the assault option was the way to go. ;)
Almost like the Thousand Sons knew you were coming...
Nonsense. It would take the strongest psyker in the galaxy to see the shadow in the warp before it arrives.
Just as planned?
I mean if theres one thing that ksons specialises in: its aoe damage that rips low wound count units apart. Its why our anti-tank sucks
That Thousand Sons army is beautiful. Great painting and I love the little pink foliage on their bases.
Another funni idea, now that firstborn tactical squads are 14/model, you can field 60 for just 840 points. Add in scouts and maybe some other battelline you can have like 120 marines.
Im actually playing a version of the horde marine list. Being 111 models with 30 lascannons. 6 tac, 6 crusaders, 3 devastators and some extra stuff.
Its my 111th las corr
@@cavedog1989 That actually sounds good and fun.
I personally like the idea of 50 Heavy intercessors for 1k points. 150 wounds with 6 toughness and 3+ save. 120 or so str 5 shots. Completely impractical though!
@@XHobbiesPrime That might honestly work with Anvil- give up turn 2 and 3 Primary scoring to kill everything, then advance up on turn 3 to score on turns 4 and 5.
@@shadowmancy9183 How much damage do you think 60 Heavy Intercessors could do? Especially if they are getting +1 to hit and wound?
Rule of Thumb with Thousands Sons: Target the characters. Reduces Kabal points to then turn their army rules off/weaken it.
Yeah as a ksons player its really hard to get value out of our army rule if you can somehow take Ahriman out early
I did this to my friend and recently stopped going at it so hard when my death jester one shot his terminator character with dev wounds. Started to not feel to good when he was passing out 6 dev wounds to a character each turn
So cool dude. I've always wanted to play against something like this. Getting swarmed by hundreds of aliens is what this game is all about.
The screenshot (at 13:26 say) of the state of the board as the nids just swarm forward is so cool, absolutely achieving the Starship Troopers vibe you want to see with this sort of list.
would have been better if his opponent would play infantry guard^^
G'day Mordian Glory,
Just wanna say that this is totally epic and you crazy man you I can't believe anyone did this! But as good as the narration is I really feel like this would be more digestible as a three or four video mini series. Not to say long form doesn't work. It does, but where able I feel the flexibility is more viewer friendly.
Anyway I'm happily subbed :)
Just a suggestion but if you do this again and you and your opponent/tournament peeps are ok with doing a little proxy-ing the spine fists would probably work better on your termagants than the flesh borers, you lose some strength and range but pick up an attack per model, gain twin-linked, shoot in melee at no penalty and keep assault. I just suggest this cause it may work better when you're trying to use your termigants as control pieces. Nice to still be able to shoot when engaged and trying to hold the mid-board for example.
Lol, the Mordian Bugs! Love the variety. If you run non-guard I’m glad you do meme lists!
Ahaha as a tyranid fan of 30 years this made me smile thank you ,,,you have made the choir of the void proud
This got me back into painting my minis! I have a box 60 termagaunts to start my horde. I'm so impressed with how you have so many painted!
That was fun to watch and id imagine play against. I considered a Necron Meme list of 6x20 warriors, 3 with Techno for the FNP and extra heals, and Overlord with Res Orb. Think of them as the from ranks of a 3 x 2 grid. Front guys with the Technos having reapers, the guys at the back with Overlords and Flayers. Then in between the two ranks 3 reanimators.
Would probably completely suck, but could be fun.
I miss being able to run exactly 101 genestealers as a 3000 pt army... Dalmation painted, of course!
Now's the time to get into Horus Heresy with the absurd number of infantry units you can feasibly take on Solar Auxilia. One troops choice with the right doctrine can contain 120 lasrifles on its own.
Awesome seeing the swarm moving across the table - more photos please
Great tourney report. And good job getting to the podium!
I once saw a tournament where someone was playing with orcs. And they picked almost all the lowest price per model that they could. They were playing matches where one player started in the center and the other played on the edge. All their models took up so much space in the center that they allowed them to make a circle and go past the standard deployment area because it wouldn't all fit otherwise. They ended up with a good third of the table, which kind of made it difficult for the other guy to get things setup. Sadly I didn't see the end of the match, not sure how they were scoring it. If it was based on the defending player keeping control of the center then the orc guy won, simply because the other player which was playing space marines couldn't kill enough even if every dice they rolled had killed an orc. If it was based on number of kills or even just points killed the space marine player won, the orcs were very bad at killing anything he had and he just stayed at ranged and gunned orcs down faster than they could get to his units as they moved around the edge of the board.
I took a 120 bug swarm to a three day tournament. Three days leaning over the board moving 120+ nids gave me a sore back.
Watching my opponent put down 200+ models and seeing the look of horror as I place down my most powerful warhammer model, a mini leaf blower with Ad Mec decals.
Awesome break down and non-bias discussion. Loved it.
the balance in 40k is insane! if you are not prepared you die!
Love the swarm Mordian! Great showcase for the Nids and what a thematic sight that must have been… they’re coming out the goddamn walls!!
My Drukhari have finally made it onto TH-cam... on the table next to the last game 😂! I still claim glory for the kabal!
Great content, you are a trooper, a true officer and a gentleman!
So, I definitely visit this channel because you focus on Guard, which is an army I have long liked, but it was a lot of fun to see you focusing on something else, and the Nids are a good choice. I'm also personally fond of Swarm Nids, which is part of why I stuck around.😊
The thing that is so weird, too me, is how little kills seemed to matter. When I got into 40k, 20 years ago, I'd say it was just a different game, but the focus of each battle was, effectively, Annihilate!, so trying to table the foe was not only crucial; it was basically everything, and while I certainly am not saying that this is without value today, or they'd care less about curtailing Indirect Fire, it's so odd that you could win without HAVING to drain the enemy force. A mob is a mob, and keeping enemy bodies from reaching points of value is almost the same as deleting them, but it's funny that you can just focus on surviving, and holding ground, instead of needing to kill the enemy, before their battle royale collars just explode, at the end of round 5. And yeah, I can see "movement wins games", when it's what gets you to gumming up shots, and keeping them off objectives, even if most of them are still there; just unable to kill you fast enough. Good games!😊
Truly glorious stuff. Squeezing some blobs of gargoyles in there is a must though!
Awesome list and recap, thank you! Grow the swarm!
Simply beautiful! Love to see them all on the table. 🤗
Those are the older gaunts on 25mm bases?
Aw man... The feeling of Marines vs The Horde is why i love the idea of doing a 'nids vs marines match.
Its what i did actually like about the Leviathan box.
Just seeing the pictures of how your army looked on the board is hilarious.
Now this is how tyrannids are supposed to be played!
Amazing. I'd love to see you do Ork list in the new detachment.
I'd also love to see you go with a Black Templar Marine spam list too!!!
I play both armies as well as guard!
this is tickling my nostalgia in all the right ways.
Pretty awesome, would love to hear your tips and tricks for running a list with this amount of models under the tournament time limit
Lists like these are the reason we need templates back!
Oh the joy of placing big blast over a 20 bug unit....
Tbh current system is fine, far less fiddly, but I do wonder the difference in hits landed in 20 bug unit between old and new...
Very exciting battle report.
wonder if swapping out a Tervigon for two Psychophages now that they're 95 points would help since they can give their FNP aura to Hormagaunts
Lethal hits is kind of needed so the swarm can actually punch a little bit.
@@chrisbaldwin8570Tbh they just sting a bit harder(from 20 gaunt shoot marine from average 4 to 5 wound) and he park his tervigon home nearly the whole time so isnt get much 6” aura lethal hit.
i think mixed some venomthrope is good too caz most gaunt will get stealth and cover but both not help against flamer.😅
Make it devourers and stratagem for sustained and crits on 5+ and more than just stings. C'tans, 3+ tanks, infantry outside terrain melts fast
some dude in your list of supporters is named potatowrangler! thats a cool name i was a potatofarmer back in the days! good fun!
Go my minions, GOOOOO! 😂. MAN I love seeing swarm lists. ❤
Try swoping one of the Tervigons with a winged Hive tyrant. Hive Tyrant has "Will of the Hive Mind". Use it for the unending waves strategem for free.
Long ago a friend of mine fielded an all infantry guard army. It was glorious.
I love this!!! Can we get some unit reviews for tyranids? I play nids but not guard and I even watch your guard unit reviews just because I love your stuff
I've actually been slowly assembling a very similar list. Neat.
If you can manage would love to see a meme infantry guard v this list
I don't play but man this is my kind of game. Lore accurate
I actually did this on tabletop simulator a couple weeks ago, its a hilarious list to run
i think we need more gaunts
Green tide Green tide !!!!!!!!!!!
Fun stuff! 17:08 into the Batrep and it's real nice to see Night Lords represent!
Hoenstly the NL list looks mostly fine. I think the only change I woudl do is change the Warpsmith for Cypher and I see chosen models so i'd just take them out and either get more Legos in Rhinos or Warp Talons. There's a few play errors. Looking at the Oblit bomb and that should have been on T1. Yes they're only 4" of movement BUT they have the firepwoer for anti-horde and they really need to either focus fire on the Tervigons to take out the synapse or, just Oblitorate a complete blob. They have the durability to just grind out and hold the gate against volume of CC attacks. The Preds and Forgefiend is good but I feel this is really trying to slowly walk away from the predecessor of the old CSM meta pre-jan dataslate. If there was a 'lil buck and rush and some further aggression of force concentration/Rhino chokeholding either left or right lane I feel the game could have been pulled back. That being said it is nice to see fully painted Night Lords and I am a sucker for Oblits and Forgefiends this edition
I've wanted to try an infantry heavy tau list for a while.
Breachers up front with Ethereal support.
Pulse rifle strike teams behind them with fire cadres.
A couple pathfinders and Stealthsuit teams for movement.
Its horde without the need for kroot.
I have painted 500 gaunts and I would paint 500 more.
Now i want a list of just DA BOIZ
Awesome list. Wondering how this list deals with battle shock with only the two synapse?
Halving the units seems like the best tactic and probably common tactic
Now we just need to see this list go against a pure infantry guard list.
I cant get over how simular he sounds to dantdm like hes him if he got into warhammer
Green tide sounds awesome
Literally the only change I'd make is putting the 2 stranglewebs in each Gant squad for 2d6 flamer shots that deal mortals on 6s and also has the assault keyword so that 12" range is longer than it looks and it makes them a little more annoying to charge them. But having them all already modeled with fleshborers is a good enough reason to not have run them.
The second game against k sons was probably the perfect storm of being both countered in list building as well as having the worst type of mission (the one where your opponent can outscore you on 1 primary).
Also, I'd LOVE to see this in a GT. Just out of curiosity on how well you could do.
48:00. If you are already at the objective you still can consolidiate. Need to be toward it. Not totally free but does provide some movement potential. You just need unit to be in range of objective. Nothing about not having been in range already
would have been hilarious if the necron army was also a flayed ones warrior swarm
I would love to see green tide when it comes out!!
It was a ton of fun. Pls play jeans stealing
Didn't think you could Doombolt twice seeing as you can only use a Ritual once per phase.
Hi Mordian.
Would you recommend the same fixed objectives for a pure infantry guard list? Cheers :)
Guard are awesome, but I'd love to hear about your take on the WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!! Especially as you have a very good idea on how to fight the orcs, so it'd be cool to hear you apply that knowledge in reverse :)
Bringing Flamers to a bug fight that thousand sons player knew what he was doing 😑
And useing the unending swarm detachment is cool however maybe assimilation swarm to keep respawning the models in a unit would be cool aswell but can see how with the units you were useing it’s not as effective
Ah, the elusive "angry carpet" list
Green tide would be really cool.
If I ever do a Tyranid army. It'll probably look like this one.
I would like to see you take a massive army of kabalite warriors ( Drukahri )
Why do I want to see this army and his guard army square off!
what took you longer, painting them or a pile in?
JustPlay is my local FLGS! Best staff in there by a mile
ah yes, my average admech army size
Hordes are the name of the game ever since they removed armour values. The more dice the better.
If you had any Gargoyles you could stomp TS too!
God, i can't even begin to imagine how long it must've took to paint all that lol
As unending swarm lover I miss gargoyles. I find 20 of them invaluable and indeed practically every win with US been thanks to them.
Also devourer plus tervigon plus stratagem has given me ability to kill something fairly reliably if he's not saving on 2+. But without swarmlord/hive tyrant kinda cp expensive. Especially with fixed secondaries so can't discard secondary for cp.
I would be both salty and excited to play a swarm army like this. It would be a great time against my MSU grey knights
Glad my bullets are imaginary. Otherwise Id run out.
Ah, of course. The xeno Imperial Guard.
Bust out the orbital raid.
Not to be cliche, but id like to see you use the Swarmlord. It gives you a little more kill potential, and that extra CP revive a unit first turn.
PS~ Amazing video man, this was awesome to watch!
I am new to 10th. Can you double move here and shoot but with - 1 hit?
Have an army like this, but instead of 2 tervigon, i take just 1 and then take in 66 neurogaunts and 2 ripper swarms for a total of 309 minis havent run it yet but i intend to do a game with some friends once its all painted lol
Taking an army other than the Guard?!?! HERESY!!!
Not quite what Poorhammer wanted to see, but I suppose you are allowed your sanity.
I wonder how that army would fare against a high pressure melee list, like orcs or world eaters
Man I want to play this now lol
