Here's another bonus about the Zoanthrope Neurotyrant combo I've noticed a lot of people haven't noticed: The Zoanthrope 6++ aura is when you are close to the unit not to Zoanthrope models, so the aura from them is extended out further by adding a Neurotyrant! Its a small bonus but its yet another cherry on top.
The absolute insanity that 3x Exocrines + Hive Tyrant causes is insane. I jokingly amongst friends call it my hit squad just because 1 can cause decimation to elite infantry that allows the 2nd to likely wipe it whilst the 3rd targets the biggest armour threat so a Casino Canon (god it's so good now) hits its target on 2s and rerolls 1s
All they do us slow things down which is okay but I've played 2 games now and they shot a lot of things and done a grand total of maybe 5 or 6 wounds over both games combined. I'd maybe take 1 unit of 5 but no more
Synaptic is sweet! I love to go crazy with it, doing things like, 2 Rapture Fexes next to eachother with a Maleceptor or Zoanthropes near them. Irrisitable will on the 2 Fexes and Zoay´s kill any tank that dares to poke their ugly head out. ^^
In my first game with these new buffs i ran a Neuro Tyrant with 6 Zoanthropes in Invasion Fleet, and they are extremely nice with Overwatch against 10 man infantry squads. 6x3D +12 + exploding sixes + the 2D6 auto hitting flamer from the Tyrant absolutely decimated anything that tried to charge them. Can wait to ran 12 Zoanthropes soon. 😂
Took a Vanguard Onslaught list to the local RTT at the weekend. The new Rupture Cannon is glorious, managed to blow up loads of stuff and weather a ridiculous amount of fire. Finished off a lord of skulls which blew up and did a ton of damage to half my army - It might have cost me the game but it was hilarious. Also left an imperial Knight on 1 wound (to be finished off by a trygon shooting attack) Overall loving nids following the buffs, but please GW give us shrikes back ;(
Excellent lists! Two weeks ago I took a Crusher Stampede list to a 3-0 finish at a local tourney. The detachment may not have the best tools of the six, but it is slept on! So many Nid monsters hit on 3s that the plus 1 to hit after their damage makes a world of difference. Basically Custodes Nidzilla!
Got a bunch of the mono-pose starter Nids mostly to drag a friend back into the hobby with cheap Space Marines. Was thinking of filling it up to a 2k Assimilation army, but I'am rather dissapointed with how my painting turned out on them >.>
Played my first game of the buffed nids the other day against dark angels and they felt very very good! I'm loving my nids right now, wish csm was as good as them right now
Man, be quiet. CSM is doing just fine. Just because you can't spam warp talons doesn't mean they're bad. I've won plenty of games with them after their codex and after their nerfs
@@gavinziozios1431 I don't play any warptalons and have never played any warptalons. Don't just assume I'm a meta chaser. I've chatted with a bunch of other CSM players and we've all agreed that CSM is a bit over costed at the moment. And I never said that CSM is bad, don't put words in my mouth. They are just a bit middling at the moment and I wish they could be a bit better. Don't be rude
@chaoticrevenge7950 Maybe in a competitive setting they're mid, but in casual play, which is what most players do, they do just fine. A lot of their stuff doesn't really feel all that overcosted either. Sure, things like Warp Talons and Lord Discordant are a bit pricey, but most units are still perfectly viable for getting the job done. Things like the Legionnaires themselves? Yikes, I ended up with 60+ attacks from a 10-man unit with full re-rolls. And Vashtorr against any army that has a reliance on range (which is to say, a fair amount of them do)? Their shooting phase just becomes his shooting phase. Point I'm making is that I think the CSM are actually in a pretty good spot right now. Some things could be adjusted, sure. Most of the complaining I've seen has been from people who are upset they can't abuse the Warp Talon's deep strike ability anymore. If you play for a theme instead of a win, they become really enjoyable
@gavinziozios1431 Well, that's what I tend to play in, a competitive setting. In a casual match-up, csm can do just fine and can be quite fun to play. But I just got done playing in a tournament with a bunch of other csm players and not one of us managed to place well. Maybe you can chalk that up to us being bad. But we just think that csm is in need of some help. Nothing major, they aren't bottom of the barrel bad but they are underperforming. Plus it would be nice to see the underperforming detachments get some buffs as well
I feel like after seeing the changes and this, Zoanthropes were a massive winner, as now so many lists are running a block of 6 with the neurotyrant and it just adds so much punch to lists...
Needs a better damaged output D6+1 attacks is a bit too swingy, needs to get either some kind of extra attacks or to get bumped up to d6+3 or something A shame, I like them a lot!
I wouldn´t use them for the FNP, except for when you got 40 gants in the middle or something. But he is an excellent action farmer. Dmg output sucks, so no bad feelings when doing any actions. And his uselessness compared with his fairly tough profil, makes your opponent think twice to dedicate any firepower into him.
Seems most people are taking 6 Zoanthropes + Neurotyrant - how do you overcome their slow speed + short range? esp with not that many wounds and a big need to make lots of 4++ saves
I feel that it's somewhat telling that one of the most popular factions has only gotten the first place 3 times since the codex dropped at the very start of the edition... But we are still paying for the sins of the 9th edition.
Hello! The Synaptic Nexus strat isn't reroll 1's to hit and wound. It's reroll 1 hit roll of 1 and 1 wound roll of 1, per unit in synapse range of the unit you pick.
No, it is on a model by model basis. But it is effectively reroll hits and wounds of 1. Otherwise, it would specify "reroll one hit roll of 1 and one wound roll of 1"
@@TheH0ff yeah and most likely will get there own detractment which is what make sense. The death watch was by far the worst example of space marines getting special treatment
@@jarlathquinn2628 the rules are already leaked in their entirety. Idgaf about marines getting special treatment - that's always going to happen. Tyranids can kinda do whatever they want. Monster mash nids are super popular and a core part of the faction identity. Although they do need to buff the horde aspect, as he said it used to be strong but the once per game revive really killed unending.
CORRECTION - sorry I included one extra neurolictor in the first list (it should only have one!).

3 trevigons and max gaunts. Will it win? Maybe not. But it's funny
The Queen knows best
Fun and playable 😁
We count opponents leaving the table as a win q
I really feel that Barbgaunts are massively overlooked, especially as they are now even cheaper
Need up ! Malus move is situational
Barbgaunts are A+ chaff clearing, and the movement debuff is super handy. Def underrated for 55 points.

Crusher and Synaptic are my favourite two detachments.
I’ll be playing a Synaptic Nexus list for my next upcoming tournament

I swear Auspex watches my search history. Was looking at a nids list for a new to the game friend YESTERDAY
Awesome to see the Norn on the board!!!
It’s sad to see that Genestealers aren’t included in any competitive list anymore.
In WTC Teams that just ended, Spain came second and had a list with 3 broodlords + 30 genestealers.
As a Gsc player, this genuinely makes me happy.
Whish auspex also did a similar video on them, even if they’ve gotten some publicity recently due to the codex.
People are under the delusion that melee warriors are better. They must be disabused of that notion
@@humantwist-offcap9514 I’m not saying that melee is particularly better, i just like genestealers because they’re cool
Being new to the game, it would be helpful if you splashed the figure you were talking about on the screen.
Thanks for the highlight. I had 1 Neurolictor instead of 2.
Ah apologies for the error then - I've pinned a correction comment above! Congrats on the wins with the list, it looks nicely destructive :)
