Brilliant bat rep as ever, keep up the good work. I have a challenge for you though, I loved your beginner guard army vid and I'm working to building that myself. my challenge to you, Take your recommended beginners list to a tournament! I DARE YOU GOOD SIR!!!!!
I second this, Morrison Glory should roll up his sleeves and enter the tournament to just have fun! Show everyone how orks are not the only ones playing for good times! Make new frienmies, try out that wet bar!
I went into Deathguard at a tourney last weekend. My cheeky Leontus redeploy with 2 Dorns and an exterminator allowed for a turn 1 Mortarion kill. Love the Dorn.
Awesome Tournament report as always! I’m loving the edits and photos, great quality! And just wanted to say that I loved seeing a hybrid normal guard list, very similar to what I run, nice to see it went very good for His True Finest
They locked abilities that are crucial to the index behind Creed and Solar, with 'Reinforcements' CP is too precious to go without one or both and getting a tank commander can arguably be worse than just getting a regular tank and saving the points.
Sadly because of this very issue I don't take guard to GTs. I'll place 3rd or something at an RTT with them not taking Leontus or Creed. Though at a big tournament with a ton of try hards, you pretty much need the CP tech.
@@hpenvy1106 Poor MG is literally tiny, a lot of people don't know it but he's only 5'4" and has donald trump hands and little ducky feet. But by god he has the spirit of a king!
Great game round 1 mate, proper gentleman tank commander. That one executioner was an absolute beast. You'd be a force if you weren't too soft to play two days.
Lol that Nid list is basically the default "what list should I bring" in the last 3 weeks of every Nid Facebook group. Little variation but definitely net-listy. That sounds like a fun tourney though for sure.
I'm not who you asked, but I'd like to say catachans are a good counter to world eaters. Just take 2 units of 10 and put them in a wide line at the edge of your DZ. Scout move and you basically dunk on WE turn 1 nonsense.
Are most tournaments ok with running Cadian shock troops and saying their catachan fighters or Kreig for instance or do I actually need to model them as actual catachan fighters for instance, sorry but been years since I’ve worked on my guard
It seems strange not having a single Black Templar double PCS list in a tournament. Btw It's true, i didn't see any objective control by the opponents while where i live people tend to run minimum 10 men squads who can deal both antitank and hordes alike with as much blast weapons as possible, so blobs of infantry tends to be cut to pieces in a turn
It's rough because if you roll low with your 8.dice and get no 5s or only a few and he passes FNP, then mortarion kills the charging tank for free. It's much better to not do it in a tournament.
@MordianGlory That's great to hear, I have been conscripted into his imperial guard about two months ago. And I am watching every video you put out since.
Hey, Mordian! the Cadia stands box on amazon has dropped to $99 is there a reason that you know about that could be dropping the price? Like some crazy new release around the corner that I am not aware of? It seems like such a crazy good deal for all those figures.
Artillery-wise, what do you think about Ursula attached to an Infantry squad with a mortar and vox caster as a back bone? She can hand out fields of fire every shooting phase for free, the mortar can give -1AP to units in other places of the battle field without being shot at. And through the vox caster she will even generate a CP here and there through that 0CP stratagem. Then she has two orders she can give to a heavy weapons teams or even field ordonnance batteries. Or is this just too many points dedicated just to support artillery?
FOBs are terribly overcosted. Mortars are okay for holding backfield objectives, but Creed ends up kind of wasted sitting there with them, because there is no use for her Order stacking ability. A Cadian Castellan babysitting your mortars is better, in my opinion. He gives them sustained hits, and Drill Commander enhancement makes you crit on a 5+. That gives you decent backfield objective holder with Lethal Hits and Sustained Hits on a 5, just plinking out damage on things pretty reliably.
@@PF_K the idea with her mortar wasn't direct damage per se. But instead giving a free "fields of fire" stratagem to infantry team with vox + mortar. Generating a CP on 5+. The mortar then gives -1 AP to an enemy unit anywhere on the battlefield within 48". Whether it hits or made damage does not matter. But all other units can benefit from the increased AP and she does not need to be near it. She then has 2 Orders that she can hand out to other rigement units in the area (thus the FOB or heavy weapon teams), to make them hit better. But yea, the lord castellan ability is wasted then. But she has better survivability back there and can more effectively spread her -1 AP where its needed every turn throughout the battle.
@@orangeblack1285 Eh I still think she's wasted like that. She can do almost exactly the same function in an infantry brick that you can move up the table and make use of double orders. With things like the Hellhound and LR Exterminator already giving you great AP buffs, I don't think the occasional loss of a free Fields of Fire is worth it. You could still use it on your mortars if you really need to debuff an indirect target for some reason, just not for free. Don't get me wrong I think it's a valid strat, just a bit too much opportunity cost for me.
Infantry and a Command Squad and Creed all together; radio all the orders with the master vox and do what you are talking about. Also, the roll for CP is a 4+ as the officers are within 6".@@PF_K
It is legal, battleline unit from the guard can attach up to 2 leaders in the Cadian shock troop, Death Korps of Krieg, Catachan, and Infantry Squad. You can take a look at the unit composition description or at the back of the index card.
Look up a channel called Auspex Tactics, they keep up to date information for all active armies and have strategic/tactical guides that might help you out!
Now granted, I'm not a tournament player, and my primary game is Mordheim. But I don't understand how anyone can play on that terrain and say anything good about it. Like, at a mate's house who has just started, naff but fair. At a paid for event?! Nah, screw that.
sorry but it may not look pretty but it doesn't have to be fun to play with / on. its really hard to expect a place to have high quality painted/ sculpted terrain while hosting a tournament of easily over 80 people all playing warhammer at the SAME time.
@@braxtonrasmussen2110 because those 80 people are all paying to be there, and scenery can be reused for multiple events. So a chunk of that money can be used to invest in terrain that's actually fun to play on.

Those terrain diagrams are a great addition.
Well played. Great come back against the Death Guard, killing Morty is always going to make me happy.
