    The slow playing is actually perfect to get a sense of the 3 against 4 rhythm at 3rd page. Thanks!
    Also at 14:08 you missed a G octave which is not really of importance

    Hello Jane, thank you so much for your channel. Thanks to you I can play Debussy's Arabesque 1 which I had never thought I would be able to one day. However, I don't understand why you have indicated level 6 for this one which seems to me so much harder than the Debussy (which you'd written as a 7). It's meant to be played very fast isn't it? Are there any other Etudes by Chopin that you would consider playable for someone who is really more of a level 6? Thank you!

    • @janepianotutorials
      @janepianotutorials  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Claire, my levels are just estimates, based on how difficult I found the piece to sight-read while making the tutorial. Because my sight-reading is improving from making tutorials daily, the levels might get lower and lower :) For me, the Op.10/12 is easier than The Ocean, also the Op.10/3, except for the midsection. Those are ones my teacher assigned. But difficulty varies among players, it depends on hand structure, flexibility, and whether you practice scales/arpeggios. I was skilled at the latter before I played Chopin Etudes.

    Hi jane :) I've recently discovered that you put the level of difficulties in the description for the videos you put out. And I've been watching your Chopin etudes lately. You said this was a 6 on the difficulty and ocean was 8. Is it bad that I find both at 8? Or revolutionary even harder? XD cause ocean is easy to read and abit hard to play while revolutionary is hard at both.

    • @janepianotutorials
      @janepianotutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My levels are very subjective (and silly?), they are based on how difficult I found the piece to sight-read while making the tutorial.
      Doubt the Revolutionary is harder, for that is the first etude my teacher assigned. I think the most logical way to find out whether we are ready to tackle a piece is: take a short section that looks most difficult. practice just that for 3 days (15 minutes each time?), if we can learn it, we should be able to learn the entire piece.

    • @firstbourne8799
      @firstbourne8799 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jane oh, thanks :). I can play revolutionary though. I just think it's harder than ocean. Maybe at the same level as op. 10 no 4 or op. 25 no 11. But I'm amazed that you can easily read pieces like this. I read the revolutionary for about 3-4 months long, so I do need practice :)
