So love this! God is on the Throne! and we are not! God knew what this man needed ... that is what, when, how the Holy Spirit should probe into one's heart. AMEN = SO BE IT! Yes, I also, love how Ken Ham explained why we should read all of God's Word! Those genealogies have helped me much when reading many other parts of Scripture. It unlocked them. Same goes for Leviticus ... I do not understand how people cannot see the justness of God when reading that book. Carry on good and faithful servants of the LORD!
God's way is perfect, God's timing is perfect, God's way is the only right way. For He knows exactly what we need and what we've been praying for. We must be patient for God is always on time. Trust, believe, receive, keep the faith.
Yes, those genealogies are important! Years ago, I had a man tell me that the story in Genesis 1-3 was just figuratively speaking - in that Adam & Eve were not real people, etc. Thus discounting not only creation, but our sinful natures roots. But he did believe that Jesus was real. So I showed him those geneology passages in Matthew & Luke, reading them to him. When I traced the one passage back to Adam and showed him the lineage of Jesus - it left him speechless! He had to think about it for a while and reevaluate his view of the beginnings. No, he did not commit his life to Christ that evening - but who knows how that night may have affected him years later, as he moved away from my area. He heard the gospel that night, saw clearly his sin & its roots back to our sin in Adam, and the purpose of Christs coming to this earth - the shedding of His blood for the remission our our sins.
The genealogies show us who fits the end time wars too, the seed of the serpent is shown as well. Those genealogies explain who is involved with Ezekiel 28, and 38-39. Those wars are gearing up which means the church is very close to being caught up, and Israel finishes her last seven years. The first shall be last, and the last shall be first.
Adam and the woman, (who became Eve after the fall) were most definitely real people. They have a direct relationship to the *great mystery regarding Christ and His church* that Paul speaks about in Ephesians 5:29-32. It's one of the first *fulfillments* of Proverbs 25:2., and Amos 3:7.
In Papua New Guinea in the 1970's while doing Bible translation into an unwritten native language, one of the translation teams read the passage in Matthew. As was the custom the translator would read passages they had completed, with the aid of the native speaker, to the nationals to get feedback regarding understanding etc. Because their history was oral everything was handed down through memory. The first chapter was translated last. After nearing the genealogy of Jesus, they believed. Their comment was if God was so precise in his ancestry his word must be true.
@@darrellwatson1071 the truth is it is all nonsense and made up, just like the Greek New Testament and the christian religion with it's fake human-god sacrifice.
If you read the genealogy and contemplate the stories of the people that lead up to Jesus, it is amazing to consider that these people have committed about every sin a person can think about and that Jesus died for them too. The part about both the lineage of both Joseph and Mary leading to Christ amazed me the first time I connected the dots (and it still amazes me).
I remember my husband coming home from a seminary class all excited about the genealogies in Genesis. The professor talked about how when it was mentioned "and he died" they knew that the man was not the promised one from Genesis 3:15. In Genesis 4:1 if you read the Hebrew it can be translated "I have brought forth a man, the Lord." She thought she had the promised Messiah already. But each time it says they died it was pointing to the one who would die for all. Jesus said ALL scripture is about Him. Even the genealogies!
The problem I continue to have is with archaeological digs, carbon dating, and the supernatural. I believe in the Holy Spirit but also assume that Mary is part of the Trinity and that male chauvinism has relegated women to second class religious identities. The 'Suffragettes ' was a breakout point in early nineteen hundreds. The churches are closing their doors due to lack of flexibility. How do you convince a class of 13 year old students today to read the Bible?
@@rodrickauMary is absolutely not part of the Trinity. She would be APPALLED to know people view her as such. This belief is heresy, period. God the father, The Son and the Holy Spirt. It never ceases to amaze me man’s ability to twist and pervert scripture.

In earlier years, I would just skip over the genealogy but now I read them to help understand the family of God relationships. It also helped me understand that the names of His family is important to Him, that HE will be faithful in recording my name in His book of life.

The gospel is revealed in Genesis 5. If you look at the meaning of the names from Adam to Noah, it spells out a sentence: “Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow, (but) the blessed God shall come down, teaching (that) His death shall bring (the) despairing, comfort.”
The many believe the genealogy the age of man or the ages of each patriarch but have symbolic meaning. God’s plan after the first fall was to restore his earthly family with the birth of Jesus made in the flesh … the genealogy provides for this. Our enemies (disembodied spirits) and satan wanted to corrupt mankind’s genealogy and seed with theirs (Genesis 6) creating hybrid offspring such as the Nephilim. God had to destroy this offspring. The genealogy demonstrates that the “lineage” of Jesus was not corrupted by satanic and demonic disembodied spirits. Has nothing to do with how long ago Adam lived.
I learned this a couple years ago and I have been trying to ensure that this is true, I find this to be one of the most mindblowing revelations if it is true. Meanings of names is given throughout the Bible so we know the concept is important. I've yet to see someone research the meanings of the names of Joseph and Mary's lineage to see if there's additional meaning! Thanks for reminding of this.
Great point! LORD in capital letters , for instance which is used about 7,328 times in the KJV version, in Hebrew is YHVH, in the Hebrew pictographic= "hands behold, nails behold".
As I get older, the more I read the Holy Scriptures and listen to the Word being preached, the larger God becomes and His mystery only deepens. For me it's not a source of frustration, but of increasing wonder. The larger He gets, the smaller and more grateful I become. I also began to appreciate that our languages are insufficient in describing Him.
@@NVRAMboi True! Did you know that God says he is going to return to the people a pure language during the millenium? Yes! I was a new Christian going to church the first time. The Bible study was in Nehemiah. I didn't know how to follow rules and be obedient. I didn't know and understand the basic rules of life. That helped me understand that being obedient was very important.
Thank You Brother Ken Ham! In the past several months after spending time listening to your messages on the power of Genesis 1-11, the key to understanding the entire Bible, it has transformed my Evangelism and Discipleship training of those The Lord has given us. Why would we skip the beginning of “The Book” and think we could fully understand and trust the true story?
Thank you, Ken. You have been a tremendous treasure in the foundational belief in The Truth. Thank you for the many years of your work in apologetics that the church has ignored in a lot of ways.
At every midnight Mass on Christmas Eve in Catholic and Anglican, and maybe other churches, the genaeology of Jesus is read aloud at the beginning of Holy Mass. It is so beautiful and cements for all listeners the validity of Jesus as the foretold Messiah.
I once attended a conference at AIG Museum, and went on an employee-led tour of offices. I was not surprised to see Ken Ham, who has led so much in Apologetics, has a modest office.
I saw it in 2018, it is extremely impressive! I for sure want to go again for another visit! I was speaking Spanish to three different families that were visiting for the first, like I was, from Mexico. Church leaders, in my mind should encourage their congregations to visit there!

Not wrong. Just incomplete in genealogy or some other factor. Bible has incredible scientific accuracy like round Earth and jet streams and the hydrologic cycle and much more. But genealogies in Bible do have selected potential. Also, it could be a city or even tribe rather than an individual being referred to.
I decided to read through some of the comments and was surprised to read so many who attacked you and Truth. Keep up the passionate labor…it is clear that you are hitting The Nerve! "Don't cry, honey! Of course you are not a hooker. You are the loyal wife of nameless trinity of the Husband." Here is Christ's question, Mathew 15: 3: "But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" Malachi 2: 1-4: "And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith Jehovah of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and ye shall be taken away with it. And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant may be with Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts." (ASV) A women say "the Husband has no name". Another ones say "the Husband has many names". Some of women "love the Husband in all his manifestations" like: neighbour, taxi driver, coworker, and so forth. Some women in a Husband-fearing way call him "H-D"... But, all of those prostitutes say "the Husband is the only". Their prostitution has created another women saying "there is no Husband at all". Then they even talk about "trinity of the Husband" and they are not against "the Son taking the Husband's place". In the same way religious prostitutes try to hide their disgusting fornication with different gods. Furthermore, a correct pronunciation of the Name is unknown now. This is the “loyalty” of traitors! Here is the God's word spoken through Moses, Deuteronomy 11: 16-17: "Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you." So, the God says there are other gods, but blind leaders of blind lead people into trap. Names of an idols/false gods are well known: Zeus, Rempha/Chiun, Aurora, Baal, Moloch and many others. "Jesus" means "Jehovah is salvation". This is the name of Christ real christians are hated for. "HalleluJah" means "Praze Jah" (Jehovah). Psalm 83: 18: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." (KJV) The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why liers feel so good while righteous people are persecuted. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. He has anointed the king, Jesus Christ. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)

I was 6 or 7 when I first saw that genealogy in school. I thought, "This tells us when the flood was." So, when I got home, I found the place in the big Bible and added them up to get 1400 and some years. I realized that I could be off up to a year per generation, and that I might have made a mistake adding, but I was confident that it was not millions. Mom was sure it did not work to add those numbers up, but could not explain why, so I accepted my sum as somewhere close to right.🤔

@@rema_styleI’ve heard this repeated but have not actually ever heard the names of the kings, at least not that I could remember, maybe the genealogy split off?
My only critique of the points made in this video is the claim made regarding gaps in genealogies of the New Testament. If this is referring to Matthew, it is an assumption born of attempt to reconcile the apparent contradictions between Luke to Matthew's genealogy, preferring to believe Matthew has gaps despite explicit generational numbering, rather than preferring to believe there are others of the same name sometimes in the different genealogies. But I challenge anyone to demonstrate a single verifiable case of generational skipping in a Biblical genealogy, as opposed to reusing of the same name for different people. Ken even mentioned one of them, Enoch, whose name was both for a son of Cain and a son of Jared later on. Hence Jude specified that he meant the latter with his mention of "the seventh from Adam." There are many times in the Bible that names are reused for different people, just as Ken shares the same name as the man who baptized me. There is even occasion where the father/son name combination of Shealtiel/Zerubbabel occurs at least two times for different men at different periods of Israel's history. This is a complicated subject that requires more than a cursory investigation to understand, admittedly, but as Ken often stated, we should be interpreting the Bible as written, not dismissing Matthew's claim of 42 generations out of hand. As I already mentioned in a comment on the recent Answers in Genesis video on Bible contradictions, the truth on this one is likely as simple as a mistranslation of "father" as "husband" to Greek in Matthew if Mary's father had the same name as her husband. It simultaneously settles the apparent shortage of one generation in Matthew and the problem of the two Josephs having different fathers. Two surviving Hebraic language manuscript copies from Italy of the start of Matthew reflect Joseph as Mary's "avi" as well.
@@bukowski20 It’s wrong to you because you’re only using human science. You cannot only use human science but philosophy. Why do you think Albert Einstein said “The more I study science, the more I believe in God”. Science is half of the answer. Then we have Aristotle a philosopher, which we all know, came to the conclusion that an “Unmoved Mover” must exist. With Einstein’s science and Aristotle’s philosophy we now know the universe is not eternal it had a beginning not only that but space, time and matter all came to be at the same time. So whatever the “unmoved mover” is, it has to be outside of time, outside of space, and outside of matter.

I find it fascinating that every person, living or dead, on this planet has the exact same genealogy from Adam to Noah. When we read the list in Genesis, we are reading about our many great-grandfathers! The other sons and daughters mentioned are not named because they died in the flood and their lines ended. Makes you look at the Olympics differently. The Olympics are a big family reunion held every other year depending on the season.
Remember though, that Noah’s sons had wives that did not share that exact genealogy. This is my pet view as to how giants appeared out of the tribe of the Canaanites, possibly a recessive trait of Ham’s wife passed on to Canaan. Something to think about. ❤
With all due respect, any student of ancient biblical texts will tell you that the present translation of our Hebrew text is the Masoretic text. 1,300 years earlier than that are the Septuagint, (LXX), Samaritan Pentateuch (SP) and the Dead Sea Scrolls, (DSS) (and more), which do NOT match our present translation. What does this prove? That scribes and copyists were not perfect in copying new Bibles. The New Testament genealogies in Matthew and Luke are not perfect either. The Book of Jude is crammed full of insight and he reveals so much spiritual information. Jude’s writing is like “Hello mature Christian brothers and sisters. I’m not going through the “milk” (1 Corinthians 3:2) lessons of vacation Bible school, I am jumping straight into the “meat” (1 Corinthians 3:2 “solid food”) of God’s word and the spiritual realities.” Jude has the ability to casually reveal some deep spiritual truths and meanings in just 2 verses compared to other books of the Bible. I still find myself reading his relatively short letter over and over again through the years. As my knowledge of the Bible grows and matures I am constantly amazed by what he’s written about in this short letter. For instance, Jude 1:9 referring to the “archangel Michael…disputing with the devil about the body of Moses” (NIV translation) made me stop in awe and confusion when I first read about it as a young person. In that moment I realized I had A LOT to learn lol. And the genealogies found in the Bible are fascinating! They too reveal little nuggets of information in addition to their record of God’s faithfulness to all generations and so much more. One example of a “nugget” is located in the genealogy list of Genesis 10:25; during Peleg’s time the earth was divided, which means “to split” both literally or figuratively (Strong’s Concordance reference H6385). Mr. Ken this is a bit funny. Just asked this question yesterday. Why is King David so important? my first answer/thought, JESUS! then I began my search. Did not realize that it has been explored by both Matthew and Luke. Matthew through Joseph, and Luke through Mary and Nathan. then I looked up Nathan. God is so good Mr. Ken. @@CP-012 No, it is a lie. Jesus NEVER said that He would tear down the temple. This was the accusation of the Jews against Him. Again you've completely missed the point.
I only recently started paying attention to, and getting interested in the genealogies. I noticed that there were some names of people who also had a parentheses with another name they were known as. I must have read through those notations several times yet never paid attention to them until the past year or so. I'm not trying to tear into every genealogy, but I'm starting with the ones the Spirit has called my attention to.

Thank you for the work you've devoted your life to doing, @aigkenham. It has been the most desperately needed message of our time for the doctrinally compromised church. But I challenge you to demonstrate a single verifiable case of generational skipping in a Biblical genealogy, as opposed to reusing of the same name for different people. You even mentioned one of them, Enoch, whose name was both for a son of Cain and a son of Jared later on. Hence Jude specified that he meant the latter with his mention of "the seventh from Adam." There are many times in the Bible that names are reused for different people, just as you share the same name of Ken as the man who baptized me. There is even occasion where the father/son name combination of Shealtiel/Zerubbabel occurs at least two times for different men at different periods of Israel's history. This is a complicated subject that requires more than a cursory investigation to understand, admittedly, but as you yourself have often stated, we should be interpreting the Bible as written, not dismissing Matthew's claim of 42 generations. As I already mentioned in the recent Answers in Genesis video on Bible contradictions, the truth on this one is likely as simple as a mistranslation of "father" as "husband" to Greek in Matthew if Mary's father had the same name as her husband. It settles the apparent shortage of one generation and the problem of the two Josephs having different fathers, and the two surviving Hebraic language manuscript copies from Italy of the start of Matthew reflect this.

Day 6 Church Age
Day 7 Kingdom Age (a.ka. Millennium, Day of Christ, Day of the Lord, Sabbath Day etc...
Let's take the day of Pentecost as the start of the Church Age. That happend in about the year 33 a.d. (some think possibly 30 a.d.). So you do the math. Each day (age) is 1,000 years. We are approaching the end of the Church Age now.
End of church age can't come fast enough. The sooner we can be done with churches and religion, the sooner mankind can progress.
Check out what Enoch says about this subject.
@@johnsipes6340 yes, some time after 1975 when I came to believe this, I then discovered that Enoch also presented 6 days of history followed by a 7th day of rest.
no the "millennium" started on Pentecost and will last until the end of time (2nd coming). at that time everything material is destroyed.
2 Peter 3;8 also verifies this pattern (with the Lord, a thousand years is as a day). And regarding the two “church days” and Christ’s return, Hosea 2;6 is quite pertinent to this pattern. He is coming for His bride… very soon!
When I first read the Old testament genealogies. The question of timeline came to mind. I had to re-read and count on paper. It made me appreciate the verse. The span of our life time is like God's blink of His eye.
Thank you Ken for this video.
thank God for you Ken Ham sensible basic teaching that we need - you are always a good listen

Great message, thank you. One of my favorite subjects!

My pastor just last sunday preached an absolutely outstanding sermon on that part of Genesis. It was so deep. I was astounded he could bring so much out of that passage. We also had a guest joining us for church last week. And I was so happy that was the day they came.
I hope that he covered the meanings of the names in that particular genealogy because that itself has a message

I heard a Jewish commentary on geniuses,
Where the original text reads “In A Beginning,
not in THE Beginning. Genesis is definitely
The Father’s history of humanities time cycle
on earth, our chance to become the “Image &
Likeness “ of our Father! This PRE-sin status
IS The Father’s will for us! Thanks forever

The Father’s First Intent for His Children!

Separation from our Life source, we ARE

That makes no sense. There is only one beginning for us! God had no beginning so it isn't ( A ) like their are/were others! So if they're using "A" instead of "The" it's either being used in the same context as "The" or they're downright trying to change the creation account. I have a Jewish Bible with the Hebrew and it reads "In THE beginning". So don't know where you got that from.
haha I was definitely someone who thought the genealogy part of the bible was the most boring, now I find it the most fascinating.
Thank you. Enjoyed this so much.
Wonderful. I recently read through the genealogies and I enjoyed them. Interesting to read about their life span and lineages
Thank you for presenting this.
Thank you for your amazing work Ken Ham ! Ive been to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. I saw you from the back of the auditorium at the Ark Encounter... Amazing information from that stage each and every time.
Thank you Ken!
Highly recommend the book After the flood by Bill Cooper, it’s the history of Europe traced back to Noah’s 3 sons using the table of nations in the Bible and early post flood nations genealogy’s, also some very interesting information concerning dinosaurs that where alive after the flood.
Loved you used the KJV! I fell in love with the KJV! It's the only one I'll use. My wife is using the NKJV which is great! Either way, we're a KJ family! Thanks for this video!

It is interesting to me how people come to know the Lord in so many different ways. God knows what a person needs to hear and then He anoints someone to speak it at what might seem arbitrary.
A wonderful and hidden content of the genealogy in Genesis 5 is: Translate all the Names into Hebrew and make a sentence of this words in the sequence the names are. The result is the gospel!
Sorry, I can do that only in german, because english is not my mothertongue:
Der Mensch (Adam) kam in die Stellung (Set) eines sterblichen Sünders (Enosch). Er musste klagen (Kenan). Der lobenswerte Gott (Mahalel) stieg herab (Jered). Er lebte in geweihter Hingabe (Henoch). Sein Tod sendet/gibt ((Metuschelach) dem gewalttätigen Menschen (Lamech) Ruhe/Frieden (Noah).
Now do that in Hebrew 🙂God shows us the Gospel in that names!! Fantastic!!
My mother tongue is spanish but if I remember well, the list with the meanings of the names of Genesis 5 in English could be like this:
Mankind (Adam)
Apointed (Seth)
mortal (Enosh)
Sorrow or spear??(Cainan)
God who is praise (Mahalaleel)
Come down (Jared)
Teach or instruct (Hanoch)
His death shall bring (Metushelach)
Despair or lament?? (Lamec)
Rest or confort (Noach)
I learn this some years before, still blows my mind, its awesome! To God and LORD Jesus be all the glory for ever and ever. God literally comes down as a human being, and He died for us to give the salvation we totally need! Blessing from Chile!
His Word, The Word made flesh, Jesus Christ, is ALL for our good. Thank you, Jesus. 🙏
Neolithic structures called “ dolmens “ were constructed to memorialize the events in genesis. They were the first cathedrals . The have features in them that simulate details on the ark. There are about 80,000 examples worldwide.

I often times have thought there is little reason to include things like genealogies, or divisions of the land, or passages that seem less about God and more about history. Except those passages get used to prove God in empirical ways. Every word is God-breathed and useful. If we don't understand it, yet, pray and wait and persevere.
Uhm, God did not waste words for those who never studied or understand
genealogy and Israel tribe groupings are extremely important.
thankyou so much for this
Good to see a Bible. I have one like that. I'm going to it buried with me.

you're doing an amazing job sir. it's short but concise and compact full of truth...
Good point!
Remember though, that Noah’s sons had wives that did not share that exact genealogy. This is my pet view as to how giants appeared out of the tribe of the Canaanites, possibly a recessive trait of Ham’s wife passed on to Canaan. Something to think about. ❤
A very amazing word, thank you very much.
You only have to compare the OT with the NT and see there are gaps and disagreements among them. Please do more research, Dr. Ham...thanks for your ministry and God bless...
Who killed Goliath? LXX Brenton 2 Samuel 21:19 - 19 And there was a battle in Gob with the Philistines; and Eleanan son of Ariorgim the Bethleemite slew Goliath the Gittite; and the staff of his spear [was] as a weaver’s beam
The Masoretes had a clear purpose in mind.
Hide or obscure all references to the divinity of Jesus Christ.
@@Bible_bits_7Both David and Eleanan slew giants from Gath referred to as Goliath. Goliath was another name for giants in ancient Hebrew text I believe.
@@wataboutya9310 Not sure, Elhanan slew a brother of Goliath, there fore I think Goliath could be a proper name. Og was the name of another giant, I think.
I enjoy the journey of researching the Bible with the understanding that every word in the Bible is specific and no words were chosen to fill space. I appreciate Pastor Ken Hamm’s ministry and his work.
Thank you so much for using KJV!
The King James. The actual Bible. 👍
@AVKingJamesBible don’t say things like that. If that is true what you said that means no one had the actual Bible until the 1600s. That’s wrong. And most English translations are just as faithful as the KJV.
@@michaelsears6702 I encourage you to truly research why people believe the KJV is the only translation for English readers. It has changed my view and my walk with GOD.
@mmiller3366 oh I know why (well sort of) but I disagree that it’s the only English translation for Christians to use. I’m glad it has helped with your walk with God and that you enjoy it.
I was telling someone in my church that the genealogy was very important and he told me that the genealogy was not important. My answer was if the genealogy is not important why is in the Bible. I like to study genealogy is very important and teaching us a great human lesson
❤❤🎉
Ken. I was only curious but it keeps looking like God wants me to have this info so I keep listening. Love to all and God gets all the Glory.
If God created the heavens and the Earth, and Jesus did raise from the dead, then everything in scripture must be true.
Does that include satan saying "ye shall be as Elohim" ?
@@nealcorbett1149 “you will be LIKE God, knowing good and evil “.
@@CP-012 "This man said that He would tear down the temple and in three days raise it up again". Is that also true ?
@@nealcorbett1149 yes, the (temple) is Christ’s body, and in three days he rose from the dead.
I beleive that God created the Earth 6,000 years ago with a history. Everything Science is learning was preordaned as history at creation. I'm not talking about Macro evolution that is just a poor way to explain what they don't understand.
Really important.!!!✝️
Canham Kenham, where is your ham? Where is your ham time to eat? Are you preaching out of the authorized Bible 16 and 11?🎉😮😅
Really make fun of him. That’s the argument. Make fun of Christians and hate them that’s one of the main tactics I see you guys do. But no hate to you or the atheists that hate us you may not like us or what we do. But we will stand our ground. God bless you. Even if you hate that.
Authorized by who ?
Apparently you don't know who Ken Ham is. Years ago Bill Nye the Science Guy and Ken Ham had a debate on Evolution versus creation. You can watch that in the archives and Ken Ham when the debate hands down that we were all created I got Almighty
I read the 1611 authorised King James version, and the verses and references are also exactly as Ken states here. So you're not escaping the truth he is laying out by going on about Bible versions.

Thank you for the work you've devoted your life to doing, @aigkenham. It has been the most desperately needed message of our time for the doctrinally compromised church.
I have an excel I made that shows from Adam to Abraham and the years that passed between then. It’s fascinating to track this!
