The opening shot is in the same maid cafe (@home cafe) in Akihabara where Miku Kobato worked as "Himawari"(sunflower). Miku is the one with the red flower, playing rhythm guitar, singing backing vocals and screaming "Don't say you love me!". She is the band founder and chief lyricist.
“Play,” official live video would be my personal recommendation for your next step in the journey of fun and adventure 🚀 One of the things that make this band so special is their sincerity. They love each other like sisters and love their fans like an extended family. And as you’re already seeing here in the comments, the Maidiacs have a community that reflects our Maids pretty well ❤
I would recommend that you watch the Band-Maid documentaries by Ohrenje. There is one for every band member with Miku Kobato being a three part series. You will learn things about Band-Maid that you didn't think you needed to know.
Thanks for returning with another reaction to Band-Maid. Thanks to Pigeon for the request. Can't wait to see you react to a live performance. So many great ones.
Tierwha, One of the reason you have so many Band-Maid fans on TH-cam is because it's the social media so many of us discovered Band-Maid through, especially during the pandemic. We have all experience the joy of discovering a band that excited us so much. Many of us are old geezers (I'm one) so Band-Maid's music reminds us of the great rock and roll we grew up with an we want new fans like you discover them, react to their videos and become a Maidiac (that's what Band-Maid fans call ourselves. One of the special qualities about Band-Maid is their musical versatility. Yes, they are a hard rock band, but their mid-tempo songs and ballads are beautiful. We feel they are actually genre defying because they can incorporate many musical elements into their songs, including classical music, jazzy, and blues. The more songs you listen to by the group you will also discover some of those elements. These five incredibly talented young Japanese females can do it all.
@@BillHallisey Who are you calling a geezer, Bill? Hold on a minute... "You kids get offa my lawn." Oh damn. You are right. (LOL) Seriously, it is impossible to pin only one musical genre or style on Band-Maid. Their bending of genres and styles is one of the things that helps them to stand apart from other bands. I discovered them in 2017, jumped headfirst into the pigeon hole, and have enjoyed every second of it.
Alan, there is no shame in being a geezer because you have to be tough to be old. These Maids bring SO MUCH joy to my life. Also, I wonder what incident at the maid cafe pissed Miku off so much that she created this scenario for the video. "Don't say you love me!" may give us a hint.
@@WilliamHallisey I have noticed there are not a lot of old fools in the world. This is because you don't get to be old being a fool. You might be on to something about the reasons behind this video.
ur mind is going to be totally completely blown when you watch Domination Official Live & Freedom Official Live! Also, lot's of people recommend HATE? official Live but I would work up to that one. The lyrics and singing are really atypical for Band-Maid and it's fun to see how they've progressed by watching some of the earlier stuff first.
Akane (drummer) Afterlife Dance with MISA (bass) these girls are a Hoot! th-cam.com/video/hzV8DdeZYL0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NCLOa7A09qJTWsoe LOL! Here ya go Tierwha, your Official Unofficial Cheat Sheet: Band-Maid Is: *Akane Hirose (Ah-kah-nee or Ah-kah-nay) -Drums, Nickname: “Ah-chan” and "Gorilla" because she eats lots of bananas for her stamina and is a BEAST on drums. Lost her "little hat" back in 2018....a sad day indeed....you'll find out the more you get into them.. *MISA (Mee-sah) - Bass Guitar, Nickname: "The Barefoot Assassin" MISA always performs barefoot as she states she likes to feel Akane’s kick drum through her feet, and "kills" and just murders that bass. *Kanami Tono (Kah-nah-mee) - Lead Guitar/Genius Songwriter Nickname: "Mincho" “Kanamincho” ……Miku’s guitar Sensei. Kanami is the driving force behind Band-Maid as she challenges the girls to be the best and pull out their God given talent they never knew they had in them. *Miku Kobato (Mee-koo) - Band-Maid Spokesperson/Rhythm Guitar/Lyricist/Founder/Backing Vocals/Lead Vocals…hardest working girl in music. Nickname: "Little Pigeon" (Miku’s surname means “Little Pigeon”) ....po! Getting caught up in Band-Maid means going down the “Pigeon Hole”…….. no rabbits here. Miku is a former Maid-Cafe employee and Japanese Idol. *Saiki Atsumi (Sy-kee) -Lead Vocals Nickname: "The Princess" “Si-chan”. I call Saiki "The Princess" but Miku is The Queen….. Saiki is Kanami’s “crush”......and Saiki just keeps getting prettier as the years move on. As a whole, Band-Maid are actually hilarious girls both on and off stage in their personal life and adore each other and their fans, as they call them "Masters" and "Princesses" and Miku's Omajinai Time (Magic Spell Time/intermission) at LIVE shows is FUN!
At the end of the day, Band Maid is a hard rock band. This song proves it. And ADO is coming to my hometown of Fort Worth next year! I can't believe it.
Great reaction! For a live performance, I would recommend "HATE?" The lyrics are brutal (and funny) and the musicianship is S-tier. They also have a video for song "influencer", which you might relate to since you are a TH-camr.
@ I see, now you also interest in holo🤔girl😱. A saying “if u live long enough, anything can happen”. Like A PIGEON, when She live 810 years, Her hair color changes all the time.😁
I would venture to say that you can pick any random Official Live video from Band-Maid and it will generally be great. However, the former most recommended OLV was "Domination" while the current most popular is "Hate?". Those work too, but there are a lot of other great ones.
Interviewer: Maid outfits aren’t exactly rock ‘n’ roll. What is your ultimate heavy metal costume? MIKU “Now Band-Maid’s outfits are part of rock n roll, so we pick these!” Interviewer: What’s the meaning of the name “BAND MAID”? Miku: I used to work at a maid cafe, and I thought “I want a band!” So it became BAND-MAID - maids in a band! Interviewer: How did BAND-MAID come together? Did any of you know each other before joining the band? Kanami: Miku was looking for members to be in BAND-MAID. I was approached to join the band, and then I brought my friend, the drummer Akane, with me. Then, Akane brought her friend, the bassist Misa. So the instrumental performers were all gathered through connections between musicians. After that, our vocalist Saiki joined through an audition.
Not their whole life story. For that watch the Documentary Series by Ohrenji. There's one for each of them with 3 for band founder Miku. Interesting fact: This was filmed in the same building that Miku's old Maid Cafe was. And as a bonus: The guy playing the Manager was her old Manager.
I will keep suggesting Moratorium live at Zepp Tokyo (not on their official channel but a HQ version from one of their recorded studio shows is top search on youtube).
The drummer for Band-Maid is easily the most talented member of the band... and she's just ridiculously good compared to drummers of all kind. She really makes every song she plays.
While I agree that Akane is probably one of the best drummers alive today, I'd argue that ALL of the Band Maid members are elite players, and Miku has become an awesome guitarist in her own right.
Welcome back princess Tierwha =) You should check out a older live performance by Band-Maid " Real Existence " Official Live is a good place to start ! Then "Don't You Tell ME" or HATE? Official Live to see how much they have improved ! Thanks Great Reaction / New Sub Po !
Band-Maid reaction videos get lots of comments because of the Maidiac demographic, which is biased toward older men who remember what live rock music was like in their youth. Men that age know how to write and Band-Maid has that classic rock vibe with which those men resonate with. I'm one of those older men, but I see fans of all ages and gender at Band-Maid concerts.
Is there “life after” Band-Maid? Maybe. But it won't be the same. And I'd miss my aching 10 year smile. Miku's "after life" came once she quit the maid café thing and started Band-Maid. Thank you Miku! And thank you, Tierwha, for bringing Band-Maid to your great viewers!
I am really curious why all recommend the song Hate?. Is it the dual between Kanami and Misa? Or the lyrics? IMHO they have instrumentally better songs 😅 Try Play, Puzzle or Corallium live ... 🥰

Band Maid is about as real as you can get.
If you've ever been in love , "Daydreaming" a softer side of BM and one of the best guitar solos this century.
