Had a freind go out on his own, first year , just doing jobs contractors would not , extending CF pull chains/changing switch plate covers/install disposals, etc, he made 73,000 . The work is there . Guys today cant do much outside computers. Hands on repair will boom in the coming years.
Spot on man! Been thinking doing same thing with a family of 7. pick up jobs contractors pass on. Needed some things done around the house and couldn’t find anyone. Did it my self and figured I can do this for money. I Plan on leaving my commercial construction job in 10 months. Thanks for words of encouragement. God bless
Customer service across the board has gone down in the US as we all know. People are shocked when they're treated like a human being these days. It's shooting fish in a barrel.
If you are a busy owner/operator, you can't answer messages, the phone etc. all day or you will never get any work done and you get distracted. I wait until the end of the day and early mornings to return text messages and set up appointments. I've also set up auto-text so if someone calls or sends a message, it will leave a message that I am at a customer's house...working... and that I will call or text after 5pm. I've lost a few, but that's ok my blood pressure is a lot lower.

That’s what I keep telling my boys! They are so excited to get into it. I tell them they’ll be unicorns and be able to make their price

I agree with that, I do the same thing. It’s just that so many don’t end up calling or responding at all. Excellent insight.
@@thehandyfamily11 Very true there's a lot of people in the trades with no communication or people skills whatsoever.
What state do you live/work in please? We live in a rural area in TN and are struggling to get on our feet because nearly no calls coming in.
Nah I don't want them to return the phone call. More business for me. Call it a competitive advantage
I love Facebook messenger. The whole conversation is proof of what’s said, pricing contact info. I rarely pick up the phone.
I use that regularly too! Love it
Straight 🔥🔥
Thanks!!!
It's also the easiest part of the business! That's half of the "sell", and the other half is showing up on time.
It truly is, crazy how many just don’t do it.
