    I get it. I started XIV at PS3 release. I took my first break from a little bit after the release of Syrcus Tower all the way until the middle of SB. I took another break at some point during ShB. I don't recall how long that one was, and then I took yet another break after finishing 6.0. That break was almost 2 years long. Trying to keep up two characters is rough. And, as much as I prefer the combat pacing of XI, the story of XIV just keeps me coming back. Crafting and gathering too. Take the breaks you need, and let them be as long as needed, then dust yourself off when you get back. I'm so looking forward to DT.

    Thank you for sharing your story! One night during the Pandemic lockdowns, I was in Limsa. There were so many people there and it felt like I was in a real crowd! It just felt SO good! It was then that the game became another place I could be and hang out. Even to this day, I love just hanging out in the game doing absolutely nothing, not even AFK. Just there living my life for a bit!

      i love that for you!! i used to hang around Limsa and Gridania in the beginning but now that I have my FC, I mostly just hang at my house comfortably. But it really was nice during pandemic to feel that sense of "going out" too when we were inside!

    I found your channel through a couple of your FF14 shorts, specifically the one where estinien came over to your house. I actually tried playing FF14 twice, and the second time around I actually made it through the whole story which made me love the game so much. Needing a break is totally understandable and sometimes its the thing you need to make sure you can play it with a healthy mindset. I hope you continue to upload FF14 content, but if you ever decide not to, thats perfectly fine. I plan on beginning to stream FF14 content as it is my favorite game and im so excited for Dawntrail!

      I hope I can continue to do more XIV content! Right now there’s not too many exciting things I’m doing other than doing Manderville weapons, but I’m glad you like what I have so far.
      I think quarantine definitely made it so video games as a whole really consumed my life but xiv moreso. I’m really glad I allowed myself to have a break over the past few months bc now I’m really excited for DT! I hope you enjoy XIV content creation and I can’t wait to see how DT unfolds💕❤️

    I started the game April of 2021 (technically 2019 but I finished base arr and never touched it again for some reason) literally cannot stop for more than a few months playing that game since 😂 I was burned out of the game after doing heavy crafters leveling but more importantly finally beating p12s so I took a break only for me to miss the story again so now I’m on my 4th new game+ run of the entire game (optional content like alliance raid stories included) currently in stormblood doing the omega storyline, after 3600hrs played I did love playing all the extremes (barbariccia was the best one by far omfg) and savage raiding is super fun I intend to do ultimates too one day but for me it’s really just redoing the story again and again like reading my favorite book that is keeping me playing very excited for dawntrail 😌

    I dove back into the game because I missed the raiding and ultimates part of the game. But coming back I somewhat see why I left sadly (most of my friends I initially played with are different timezones). I think travel between the timezones (Like with Materia rn) will make it a lot easier to find people for my own timezone (EU) whilst still being able to play with my NA/OCE friends.

    I started playing in October of 2023 and I only really got into the game because of RPing I do with a friend of mine and he wanted me to give 14 a try since it's a really nice outlet for that, fast forward through much of my sprout and learning phase and doing about just enough of the MSQ on my own and feeling comfy on what jobs I'd like, And now I'm out here with a handful of characters to play with, but still I find myself still ending up in this box of only logging in to play with my 1 friend, he has encouraged me to try and make other friends with like joining FCs and such and that interacting with people isn't that tough on this game, but even now all the way in May, I still play this game with nobody but them, not even just for RP but like any sort of fun content I only do with them cause my social anxiety in real life is really that bad and even in an online fantasy world I'm still more or less exactly that, I have tried to make friends and then sometimes end up ghosting people cause I'm overthinking, and then on top of being a sprout still not really knowing all the content of the game I feel the need to be annoyingly apologetic with when we all die or raid wipe, and also just being way too silent even when I am brave enough to try making groups with people.
    I still have a lot of fun with this game don't get me wrong, but I do wish I wasn't so terrified of people even behind a screen.
    I'm also not sure where this story was going once I started typing it haha but I mean I feel ya on the not wanting to be perceived part. But deep down wishing you allowed yourself too just to get a more fuller experience with something like a you know... MULTIplayer game lmao! I haven't experienced my first burn out with the game yet even 7 months in but I'm sure after DT comes out and content is drip fed to us slowly after that, My first unsub and hiatus will happen. I don't know who you are but i hope your journey with 14 goes well, maybe I'll keep an eye on it.

      Thank you for sharing YOUR story with me❤️ I have social anxiety so even online I get nervous too, I understand! I’ve had an interest in RP but I got too busy with raid and I got nervous talking to ppl. I think it’s good to push yourself a bit but if you want to enjoy the game more quietly and at your own pace, it’s what you should do.
      I’ve had my fair share of bad interactions in this game, but I play for the story and characters I like and to spend time with friends I made (even if it’s suffering in ultimate raids). I still sometimes cry during raids bc I feel bad but I am truly blessed to have friends who teach me in a very kind manner and are patient with me too.
      I wish you the best of luck in your journey in life and with XIV❤️

    Heyaa, my relationship with FF14 is very much the same!
    In the beginning of covid is was putting in 14//16 hours a day. Blazed through the story and finished everything up to ShB in about 3 months. Immediately got into savage, joined a FC and loved the social aspects of things as I’m extremely extroverted + during covid that was hard for me. However It’s also a game where there is always drama happening, and thats some I still very much dislike about 14. I took big breaks right and left. Now I’m returning once again and I’m always finding new fresh stuff to get into. Just started learning BLM as I looked for something completely out of my comfort zone, and I love it lol. This game is awesome when you play it a bit more chill imo. You just have to take great care in making sure you don’t burn out the fire too soon! Cheers

      @killerkadoogan783 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've played around 2000 hours and have honestly rarely come across drama. Maybe it's the people you're choosing to spend your time with.

    • @juunibug
      @juunibug  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@killerkadoogan783 everyone’s experience is unique. I’ve made some very precious friends and as I mentioned in the video, had a falling out. Sometimes when I mention my negative experiences, people have said that “that’s weird that it happens, I’ve never seen anything bad because this community is so nice.”
      I think every game has good and bad people. With XIV growing in popularity, it will attract all sorts of people. And I think at least with my experiences, it’s just people dealing with their own IRL stuff and they project it in the game.

    • @juunibug
      @juunibug  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for sharing your story! We seem to have a lot of similar experiences. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with drama and I think it’s okay to have criticisms of the game or work through negative experiences. I think as social as the game is, everyone has to find ways they enjoy playing it.
      I hope you enjoy Black Mage (this class stresses me out XD) and I hope you enjoy DT❤️

    • @killerkadoogan783
      @killerkadoogan783 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@juunibugI understand. That's fair enough. I don't expect everyone to have the same experience and have met many who have had a bad time with people in FF. However, i was just saying that the people you spend your time with makes a big difference in that. When I first joined I found myself in an FC that had a lot of arguments etc. I had to shop around for a while but fortunately found an FC that is super chill where nothing bad really happens and everyone gets along and now i very very rarely encounter BS. I think its worth saying that if youre finding yourself surrounded by drama, maybe think about changing your surroundings is all.

    • @juunibug
      @juunibug  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@killerkadoogan783 I appreciate this response and discussion. I moved from the biggest FC on my world (and while I didn’t have drama with the FC, it was just way too big for me) to an FC I made with my friends which is like 10 of us.
      It can be a difficult thing to step away from friendships or people who are toxic (vs randos from duties you just never have to see again). It def takes time to find your people in every game or hobby and I hope everyone can sort out their stuff or find those good friendships!

    classic YT algorithm knowing what I felt these past few days. Thinking of coming back to DT because I heard DRG is getting reworked and Eden is getting an ultimate. I quit during ShB after burning out of clearing ultimate/savage contents and the classic FC dramas lol.

    • @juunibug
      @juunibug  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m learning DRG since it’s my fave dps class only for it to get changed haha! But I’m also very interested in Eden ultimate so hopefully I’ll survive savage long enough to do it!
      But 100%, I feel lucky to not deal with any FC drama but I know people have had their experiences on top of general burnout from pouring many hours in the game. I hope if you come back for DT you enjoy yourself! ❤️

      @@juunibug hopefully they lessen the stress of positionals with the rework or just remove positionals hahaha. I believe you'll enjoy Eden savages, as they have some of the most fun raids in the game, blind or even with guides. I think you'll even finish it before DT.

    I played 14 in the past for about like 4 times, and 4 times it failed me, the MSQ was just tedious, especially ARR. I tried 14 again 2 weeks ago and gave it a final shot because i was really looking for an MMO home and bbbbbbbbbbbbooooooooooyyyyyyyyyyyyy i am loving it - it was dreadful leveling a hunter but i knew i was gona try the samurai class before playing it and when i finally got the job, i was drawn to the class (not the msq fetch quest), and now? i spent $50 on skins alone .. LOL but on a side note - u lucky u have friends to play this game with and raid.. im playing it on my own :(

    FFXIV certainly has a lot to offer and it easily gets overwhelming. I won’t lie it has caused some minor conflicts but we come back to have some fun with helping each other farm some mounts or NieR gear. Have you ever been to any Eorzea Cafe? I went to the Osaka one and I really wanted to get back into the game afterwards but had to wait another week since I can’t exactly bring my whole setup to Japan 😂

    • @juunibug

      Definitely, I think if you put so much into a game you’ll naturally run into more problems and not good people but I’ve truly felt better and can see the good things in the game!
      And I’ll be going to Japan in the summertime so I’m hoping to get Eorzea Cafe reservations without any issue! Last time I was in JPN I didn’t start my XIV journey yet so I had no idea it was a thing! 💕

      I fell down this whole culture war rabbit hole of freedom maskers vs. non-maskers...
      Overall my conclusion came to "I myself am gonna do what I'm gonna do and other people will do what they're gonna go"
      But when I would throw down with people about it... Yeah... It was miserable, dreadful and terrible.
