I love Tig Notaro's style of comedy. She starts out with a story, tells a side story, and you kind of expect to know the direction of her joke and punchline, but half way through her story- you totally become lost and ask yourself "what the hell happened?" Its funny as hell and some people get annoyed because it kind of meanders from topic to topic.
vantha doun She doesn’t just hand every joke to the viewer like so many others do these days. I love this kind of humor. It seems so much more genuine.
Stephen is a true pro. I love the way he can feel out any guest, speak to them in a way that mirrors their personality and just create talk show gold. Tig is very funny, love her too. She might catch me off guard though lol Great clip.
Kody Estep I completely agree. I wish we had more of that in the US. This kind of understated humor is 10x funnier than the lowest-common-denominator comedy we sometimes resort to (my opinion of course!) Stephen Colbert is down for that vibe whenever and I love it.
I like how Stephen just said, "We don't have to be funny all the time" at the end, just going with the moment and acknowledging the importance of what they just talked about.
Tig is such a real fucking person. I love her style of comedy. I can cry laughing and she doesn't even move a muscle in her face, brilliant. All content.
I need to practice embroidery and not expecting to find inspo in the comments of a Colbert interview w tig notaro. But here i am, sketching "pray the gay to stay" on fabric
I would like to know who is fighting this gay thing ,most gay people I have known don't seem to be angry about anything . Actually there kinda funny ,and very happy people. Well except when there partner leaves them they become pretty damn aggressive.
Yiğitcan Erdoğan so youre saying its not funny... ? I thought it was fair, but craig, no..cause that guy flopped so bad at comedy, he was literally the worst of the worst late night host... thats why he didnt do it long and now does a low budget game show, also watched by less than 50 people in reality
the only reason craig didn't host the tonight show is because he wasn't interested and the only reason he's not hosting the late show is because he doesn't want it he always talked about wanting to host a game show and that's exactly what he's doing he's by far the best host i've watched
+Nancy Mesek Hi Nancy! This is an independent TV show, not connected to any network. Like Netflix and Hulu, Amazon has created their own television shows & series. So any country that Amazon is available for its residents, you can watch the shows. You do need to have the Prime level of Amazon membership. There are also movies they offer to customers as one of the perks. HTH.
such a brilliant interview. I remember watching this, I already loved Tig but it made me appreciate Stephen as an interviewer. He makes guests feel so comfortable.
her sense of humor is so fantastic and unique. ive never seen someone able to make awkward pauses so hysterically funny. she says one word and everyone laughs, its magical
Her show sure doesn't need a laugh track! The funny is REAL funny, the serious is REAL serious, and she plus a fabulous cast pull it off so well. Hope there are more than 2 seasons!!
And FYI for the people spreading false information in the comments section. She didn't accuse Louie CK of sexually harassing her. There were multiple female comedians saying a popular comic was masturbating in front of them. Rosanne finally named the person as Louie CK, and Louie gave a strange, vague answer...never dispelling the rumor. When asked about it, Tig said he should take care of the situation and explain himself. That's all that's been said on Tig's part. She's not one of the female comedians in question.
I am so glad Tig has her own show!!! She is one of the strongest women in show business, and so funny. Yaaasasssss , Tig!! Happy Motherhood!!🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🌹🍀🌹I don't have Netflix 😭!!!
Huge fan of how most sane people upvote instead of heading down into these insane comments. I would love to see an hour long interview with Stephen and Tig. I find that late night can't really get enough depth. Not enough time.
i really like her, she's always good fun on shows and her stand up is funny as hell. and she's putting into words what clearly needs to be said quite seriously and urgently, with all these social and ethical schisms coming to light more and more nowadays.
Interesting how she only cared after is was massively public. This has been known for quite a long time, but she didn't seem to care when he was advancing her career. Seeing as though I'm a random nobody from the middle of nowhere and I knew about this years ago, I find it incredibly hard to believe that Tig also did not know about it working with him. What he did is incredibly wrong, but it's just as wrong to ride his coattails until it's not publicly okay to do so and then act like you were never okay with it.
@Marten Dekker If by minor you mean the legality, then sure. If you mean creepy, disgusting, inappropriate, and an abuse of a power dynamic, then I would beg to differ. It's especially bad since his standup act is so much about creepy men and their need to jerk off - it worked fine as long as people weren't aware that pretty close to reality in his case.
I didn't get her at all until this appearance. It was a weird spot and Colbert dropped the ball, but she laid in some solid shots. I thought she was a one trick pony, but there's a good, solid comedic mind there. Fan now.
IXCat ... Damn, you just made me realize it and it broke my heart. For the record, I believe Stephen did talk about how awkward it is to greet a celebrity when they come in because one never knows how they will do it. Still, it broke my heart. Not to mention that I was a very shy entrance, I must say.
xfactor541 Yeah of course it wasn't intentional I'm not blaming him or anything I was just pointing out something that happens most of the time, even to me
You can see how her mood was changed after she suddenly realise that he did not remember their last interview where she told him a lot of the things that he seems to have forgotten!
Tig you are inspiring. While I'm all the way over the other side of the world I feel solidarity with the women in America and feel as if a big shift is about to happen.
Yea If you notice in this clip Colbert is wearing a maroon colored tie, in the Conan interview he's wearing a grey"ish colored tie, but both aired on the same night (Friday).
I love her and her humor. She’s a breast cancer survivor, as I am. She’s smart...and reminds me of my favorite Beatle George Harrison, both physically & her humor.
I wish the same thing Tig. People who have been abused are in need of understanding, and help. If the abused person was treated with respect, maybe more people would report their rape. I just wish one day, rape was gone from our society. But it's in the news every week.
Tig Notaro blesses us with a dry, slow yet rapid-fire humor as well as truths and is multitalented. Ellen Degeneres will be doing a stand-up comedy Netflix and has chosen Tig to be her Director. That should tell you something. There's a vid on TH-cam with Tig on The Ellen Show. Search 'Ellen Degeneres Tig Notaro out of Body'. Worthy. Thanks to Stephen Colbert for having her on his show. They're hilarious together.
Jeez this woman has the greatest straight face in the world.
funny since she is as lesbian as they come :P
no pun intended? :D
So ironic.
And the voice!!!!
"Nicky, stop flirting with me". Lol.
that was the best closer, hahah
I feel so awkward because my preferred name is Nicki but I'm gay as fuck.
Had this been real life, her head would have probably exploded. I know I spit my coffee out when I heard her say it. I must watch this show now.
Kitty *
😂
I would love to see Tig interview Aubrey Plaza - most awkward thing ever!
Yes!
Want that
They would make great costars! I don't even care what the show is about.
Omg yes
I would literally pay to watch that 😂
Toyota Sienna
Colbert: "Oh, that's a good one. Are they sponsors?"
Jimmy: "Yes."
Colbert: "Fantastic car."
That got me laughing so hard
I love Tig Notaro's style of comedy. She starts out with a story, tells a side story, and you kind of expect to know the direction of her joke and punchline, but half way through her story- you totally become lost and ask yourself "what the hell happened?" Its funny as hell and some people get annoyed because it kind of meanders from topic to topic.
vantha doun She doesn’t just hand every joke to the viewer like so many others do these days. I love this kind of humor. It seems so much more genuine.
I agree, read the first 3 words I wrote, "I love Tig" been a long time fan of hers and her delivery is smooth as Vanilla Mocha frappacino.
The pace is amazing. Like the Yazoo River on a summer’s day. Xx
vantha doun you mean rambles like a typical bore?
Yeah, I like it too. The first time I saw her on Conan with her cell phone bit, I was hooked.
Stephen is a true pro. I love the way he can feel out any guest, speak to them in a way that mirrors their personality and just create talk show gold. Tig is very funny, love her too. She might catch me off guard though lol Great clip.
Kody Estep I don't understand her humour just too slow and boring for me tbh
Kody Estep I completely agree. I wish we had more of that in the US. This kind of understated humor is 10x funnier than the lowest-common-denominator comedy we sometimes resort to (my opinion of course!) Stephen Colbert is down for that vibe whenever and I love it.
Surrey Mane that's okay I def get that. She's into akward comedy
Anastasia Rath definitely! If only we had more Stephen's haha
Kody Estep you're a cool dude, I wish you the best of luck in your life
Tig and Stephen have such comedic chemistry
Watch that smile when she first walk in...he is just gleeful to see her :-)
is it just me or could they pass for brother and sister?? at least here they look like they could.
Tig has comedic energy with everyone I see her with
Yup INTP and INFP chemistry
I like how Stephen just said, "We don't have to be funny all the time" at the end, just going with the moment and acknowledging the importance of what they just talked about.
Always love seeing Tig with Stephen or Conan. She's funny in a very slow, sloth-like way.
Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother you... But I just have to tell you.... I love your voice
Ringo Brat kill me
you aint funny brian
I love your name and your comment
Tig is such a real fucking person. I love her style of comedy. I can cry laughing and she doesn't even move a muscle in her face, brilliant. All content.
We moved to flat land
Watch her Conan's bit on Sia with kids. Cringey cringe
Her mastery over her delivery is incredible
Pray the Gay to Stay needs to be a T - Shirt.
YES!!!
I need to practice embroidery and not expecting to find inspo in the comments of a Colbert interview w tig notaro. But here i am, sketching "pray the gay to stay" on fabric
I have a t-shirt shop. How do you want your design? Pica pica plaza. R n R Graphixs.
I would like to know who is fighting this gay thing ,most gay people I have known don't seem to be angry about anything . Actually there kinda funny ,and very happy people. Well except when there partner leaves them they become pretty damn aggressive.
All can anyone tell me what small rodents have to do with gay people.
The way Stephen go along with Tig and being awkward just brilliant, so hard to give a straight face from the whole interview
As a survivor, I respect Tig so much for using her voice.
Me too.
That hug at the beginning is the most affectionate I've seen Tig in an interview. The chemistry between them is amazing :D
This is a masterclass in awkward and I love it
Just binged her show and I loved it! Has a ton of guts, heart and humor! Found myself crying and laughing equally.
Italian Mainer ugh please avoid me
Cody S k random TH-cam commenter.
I had the exact same reaction to the show. Equally as heartbreaking as it was funny.
The same for me. Just discovered her (Yes, I was living under a rock...). I love her humor !
What network is it on.?
this is the kind of awkward id pay to see every friday night.
Whenever Tig is on a talk show, the host immediately has to adapt to her sense of comedy in order for it to be great. She is an absolute force.
I love her dry humor. I need to watch her show 😀
"Stop flirting with me." Coooold Blooded!!!
One Mississippi is a great show. Six 30-min episodes are NOT ENOUGH!
I absolutely love Tig's dry wit and sense of humor. A sign she's super smart.
I love her so much! Her style of humor is just the best
#PrayTheGayToStay
That clip where she accused Nicki of flirting with her was *priceless*
Make the gay go away.
#PrayTheGayToSlay
Which movie was that clip from pls cause I didn't see it in one mississippi
Interview with no question cards. More of this, Stephen. You're good at it.
I wish she was here every week. I love her, and her show is very funny.
this was a very craig ferguson-esque interview. :)
Yiğitcan Erdoğan so youre saying its not funny... ? I thought it was fair, but craig, no..cause that guy flopped so bad at comedy, he was literally the worst of the worst late night host... thats why he didnt do it long and now does a low budget game show, also watched by less than 50 people in reality
derty churchtablet speak for yourself.. Craig was way ahead of everyone else.
the only reason craig didn't host the tonight show is because he wasn't interested and the only reason he's not hosting the late show is because he doesn't want it he always talked about wanting to host a game show and that's exactly what he's doing he's by far the best host i've watched
It was like a Craig interview without all the hilarious bits or the host being great at pushing conversation... other than that, maybe.
Omg I know, I thought that the ENTIRE time before the sexual harassment part. It was EXACTLY like Craig's interviews! I really miss that show :D
I love her style of humor
D. Foxx very unique
Brian DePalmaDeMajorca I think she’s very funny because of her style of humor...
D. Foxx nonexistent?
eric anton it’s called dry humor.
She is hilarious.I love her personality, and her sense of humor
Never seen her before but now I gotta watch her show. The awkwardness between them was hilarious!
This may be one of my favorite interviews :) Love Tig
she seems like someone who can't wait to be old
Ssgt Griggs how much older you want her to get? She looks 65yo right here.
Lol! It is fun being old.
Ssgt Griggs She looks 20 years younger when she smiles - that is so charming!
SHE WAS BORN OLD.
EQ-smoove glad that we got the comment from a 13 year old boy through so early. Now we can move on to people who aren't retarded.
I love Tig. I had no idea she had a show. I've got to find out how to view it from Europe.
Nancy Mesek I think you can see her show on amazon prime
Sian R Thanks. What network airs it in the USA?
Oh I'm not sure I'm from the Uk
Nancy Mesek no network, only on Amazon prime and season one is here on you tube. It's really an incredible show.
+Nancy Mesek Hi Nancy! This is an independent TV show, not connected to any network. Like Netflix and Hulu, Amazon has created their own television shows & series.

such a brilliant interview. I remember watching this, I already loved Tig but it made me appreciate Stephen as an interviewer. He makes guests feel so comfortable.
I haven't seen Tig in a few years and she's even funnier. "Let's pray the gay to stay." Lol.
HBO should never have cancelled "One, Mississippi." That was truly the BEST show on any network for years. I am so discouraged.
"I feel like there is hope."
Boy, there'd _better_ be.
"Are they sponsors?"
"Yes."
"Fantastic car."
Bless you Tig notaro, you're the greatest
The first scene of her show is bloody gold.
They compliment each other so well comedically
Tig is the best!! Glad she is speaking out about sexual assault.
Welp, that's been comment ;)
Aw, tom cruise is so cute. Lol
he wishes he were as cute as Tig.
LOL
her sense of humor is so fantastic and unique. ive never seen someone able to make awkward pauses so hysterically funny. she says one word and everyone laughs, its magical
No question Tig is the best.
Her show sure doesn't need a laugh track! The funny is REAL funny, the serious is REAL serious, and she plus a fabulous cast pull it off so well. Hope there are more than 2 seasons!!
Tig Notaro...great as usual...that was hilarious! I also liked her show. I just finished watching it a couple of weeks ago.
but I wish her segment was longer.
No Name she was right!
Lolllll. I love her humor & their chemistry .
I am so glad Tig has her own show!!! She is one of the strongest women in show business, and so funny. Yaaasasssss , Tig!! Happy Motherhood!!🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🌹🍀🌹I don't have Netflix 😭!!!

All I could think about was Louis
I don't think I've ever seen Stephen so flustered. Tig is amazing. I think he's intimidated.
"stop flirting with me" should be used *way* more in public discourse these days...
Tig is so gracious. Colbert didn’t know her most basic info.
Refreshing natural human being.
I adore her and her sense of humor!!
That Interview tickled my funny bone... I had to really lol.
she's brilliant
So, she's clearly talking about Louis CK, right?
Yep
Interesting how she only cared after is was massively public. This has been known for quite a long time, but she didn't seem to care when he was advancing her career. Seeing as though I'm a random nobody from the middle of nowhere and I knew about this years ago, I find it incredibly hard to believe that Tig also did not know about it working with him. What he did is incredibly wrong, but it's just as wrong to ride his coattails until it's not publicly okay to do so and then act like you were never okay with it.
Jaded Wonderland oh shut up, she’s not responsible for other people’s actions.
Among others
@Marten Dekker If by minor you mean the legality, then sure. If you mean creepy, disgusting, inappropriate, and an abuse of a power dynamic, then I would beg to differ. It's especially bad since his standup act is so much about creepy men and their need to jerk off - it worked fine as long as people weren't aware that pretty close to reality in his case.
Tig please come to the U.K.! They’ll love you.
I love them together
I laughed..
I cried..
I was inspired..
This was perfect
The world needs more shows like One Mississippi
i love your show Tig!
the vibe here is amazing
I didn't get her at all until this appearance. It was a weird spot and Colbert dropped the ball, but she laid in some solid shots. I thought she was a one trick pony, but there's a good, solid comedic mind there. Fan now.
I am so late to the game, just saw her show on Amazon and wish they had extended it. She is great!!!
Tig is a legend!!!
best talk show interview ever. Conan-level chemistry
Oh, Tig wanted Stephen to hold her hand but he didn't realize :(
Look at it she made it awkward and hard to tell...
IXCat ... Damn, you just made me realize it and it broke my heart. For the record, I believe Stephen did talk about how awkward it is to greet a celebrity when they come in because one never knows how they will do it.
Still, it broke my heart. Not to mention that I was a very shy entrance, I must say.
"It broke my heart"? lol Jesus it's not that serious. She just mistook his welcoming motion to sit as him trying to hold her hand.
xfactor541 Yeah of course it wasn't intentional I'm not blaming him or anything I was just pointing out something that happens most of the time, even to me
IXCat i mean I'm clearly not referring to you're comment but alright
louis ck is what you thought when she said stand up comedians...
Lmfao they're so funny and they barely made an effort 😂😂😂
I love that she's so deadpanned, she does it well
this is such a great interview
You can see how her mood was changed after she suddenly realise that he did not remember their last interview where she told him a lot of the things that he seems to have forgotten!
...Amazing
"Yea... that ones right" 🤣🤣🤣 she is so awesome.
Tig you are inspiring. While I'm all the way over the other side of the world I feel solidarity with the women in America and feel as if a big shift is about to happen.
Was Conan's interview recorded at a separate time or something and that was the joke at the start? That he wasn't actually there?
they filmed him on wednesday I think they say in the Conan interview, so yeah he's not here
+Nicolas Gorszczyk Thank you Nicolas, for the clarification. That part was confusing to me.
Yea If you notice in this clip Colbert is wearing a maroon colored tie, in the Conan interview he's wearing a grey"ish colored tie, but both aired on the same night (Friday).
np
Nicolas Gorszczyk Based on the tie Stephen wears in the Conan O'Brien Interview, it was recorded on Tuesday. He weared the same tie back then.
I love her and her humor. She’s a breast cancer survivor, as I am. She’s smart...and reminds me of my favorite Beatle George Harrison, both physically & her humor.
She's talking about Louis CK 6:57
Love this interview
Thank you Tig ♥️🙏😌
For some reason, Tig reminds me of Bob Newhart. Flat-affect…and absolutely amazing.
They sure are. They are closer then you think.
I think there are more child creepers around. Too many.
The best entrance of any talk show guest ever
One Mississippi is awesome!
"these abusers are actually being taken down."
Immediately like video.
Wow never heard her talk but very funny person
Now this is some good comedic chemistry.
Stephen really knows how to interview different people and play along and how to get the most out of the time.
I wish the same thing Tig. People who have been abused are in need of understanding, and help. If the abused person was treated with respect, maybe more people would report their rape. I just wish one day, rape was gone from our society. But it's in the news every week.
Tig great work and interview good on you
Tig Notaro blesses us with a dry, slow yet rapid-fire humor as well as truths and is multitalented. They're hilarious together.
most underrated comedian of all time
She is so deadpan and I love it
Eddie Panedi she is funny as hell, you unfortunately have a massive stick up your ass.
She is so cute and seems to be fun to spend time with and just listen to her talk.
0:55 ahhh... the old "are we gonna do a handshake hug or a regular hug?"
