  • RV Awning Sunshade Hack - - on the Cheap!
    Sunny days are great when camping, except when you’re sitting directly in the sun, under your RV awning, and you are either blinded, sweating profusely, or both. RV sunshades, or rv awning shades can be easily purchased on Amazon or camping world, but at what cost? Today’s video, I show you an effective way to have your sunshade at a fraction of the cost.
    Harbor freight has four different sizes of ‘Mesh Tarps’. Here is that link- www.harborfrei...
    Pair that with some awning light clips, and you are on your way. I also used some tent stakes to hold it to the ground.

    The cheapest way to make an RV sunshade, and it actually works! See description for details on the mesh tarp and the hooks.

      Question when it rains can you just roll it in or do you have to remove it

  • @cubmasterchad
    @cubmasterchad ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You could by the larger one and fold it in half. or use 2 to increase the shade. Still much less than the others.

      I never even thought about doubling up. Great idea !

  • @pineychristian

    Good hack man. Like the idea. The only big difference is the actual RV awning sun shades have a zipper about half way so they dont need to be removed from the awning. That means you can roll up half the sun shade into the awning so it extremely fast to take down or put up. So your kind of paying for a convenience. I still like your idea 👍😉

      I wouldnt parade around naked behind it (even tho sooo many request that, lol), but its not completely see through either. Best thing I could suggest is if youre headed this route, compare mesh with others. • @LittleHouseofBeans
      @LittleHouseofBeans  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it certainly helps with wind, but as always, there's going to be a chance your awning still gets damaged. I would really just try it, monitor it for a bit in different conditions before deciding to leave with the awning out. I may change out my shades based on conditions, and will be creating side shades as well (for another vid). Looking at mesh of course, but also reflective materials to dampen some of the heat. true, and I started down that path. The issue i found was 1) the edges are curved, and 2) they did not have grommets on all four sides, only the corners. Not huge issues, especially if you want color pop, but that was my personal deterrent.

      thats a tough question considering the variables. We've camped less in the past 8 months, and of those trips, probably didnt use it as much as expected. The mesh is in the same condition it was the day we bought it, save for some dirt. the little 's' hooks are fine. the biggest issue is I sometimes lose the hooks or the light hangers themselves, because they are so small...and ive left a spike in the ground once or twice.
