  • The Audi A3 is one of the most desirable family hatchbacks you can buy. In this CarGurus used car review Chris Knapman takes a look at the third-generation A3 and provides a few handy hints and tips if you're in the market to buy one.

    Pros
The interior is high-quality, and practical if you choose the five-door Sportback
Excellent fuel economy from the diesel-engined models
The RS3 has serious performance credentials
    Cons
More expensive to buy than mainstream cars with similar abilities
S line versions have a firm ride
Performance models are pricey to run
    The CarGurus verdict
When it comes to smaller family cars, the Audi A3 is a great premium choice. Make sure you decide what you need from your new car and pick the version that best suits you, as there are plenty of choices within the range from the practical Sportback to the sleek three-door hatch, classic saloon or rakish Cabriolet.
Whether you go for the super-fast RS3, an entry-level A3 1.0 TFSI, or anything in between, you’ll have yourself an understated, classy vehicle that oozes quality. It may not be the last word in absolute driving pleasure, with a focus more on comfort than razor-sharp handling, and you may end up paying a bit more than for the similarly-sized Volkswagen Golf. But with an Audi badge and the image that goes along with it, you’re unlikely to feel shortchanged.

I really like the idea of a used car review, but I'm missing the 'used' part of the review, you're only describing it as a new car... From a 'used' car review I'd like to see some common issues with long term usage, some tips about what should I look for when buying this model as a used car, best /worst engine in that model ... etc.

How do you like the infotainment system and speakers? It probably hasn't received an update with support for Android Auto right? I'm looking at this model and still deciding whether lack of Android Auto is deal breaker to me. Thanks in advance for your answer :)

@@matevzkrajnik94 Hi, I have the 2017 Sline 2ltr Quattro & found the infotainment system to be excellent! connects immediately to my Android device. Sound quality is amazing for a standard system, the top spec models must be mind blowing! The haters of Audi cars out there probably have never driven or owned one, or had an unfortunate experience with one, as you can with any brand. I bought mine second hand with only 9000klms on the clock from some wealthy person who turns their cars over like underpants. Got it 20grand cheaper than new with 3 years extended warranty. If you can buy near new with a good warranty, that's the way to go. Its been an amazing car to drive! especially in heavy rain! Maybe a little stiff in the suspension, even in comfort mode but corners like on rails, I do have 18inch wheels on it though. Servicing is average costing of around $460 upto a $1000 for a big one. Turns heads wherever It goes. Debadged & blacked out in black with black wheels it looks very menacing!
Get a good one & you will be very happy. Its not a super complex car as some of their top end model's, so not expecting any huge repair costs after warranty but I will probably flick before it runs out & update. Oh yeah, the virtual dash that is in mine is unreal! Not sure of the reliability of that sort of technology as its so new but it will be under warranty anyway if it fails. Could be expensive out of it.
My A3 is built in Germany, which is better than some of the other models that are built elsewhere, check that, its important. All in all superbly built, customer service & back up from my Audi dealer has been first class. Best car I have owned! And I have owned all brands & types, none have impressed me like this one.

Diesel or petrol ?i am stuck

    • @hartzland7658
      @hartzland7658 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@sohaibahmad7257 Petrol for sure! Cheaper to maintain, quieter, less issues, less emissions, quicker off the lights & with governments taxing you more to own a diesel, its a no brainer. Go a 2ltr Quattro any year above 2017 if you can find a factory serviced one with low klms. Buy from Audi dealer & try to get a factory extended warranty!! If things go wrong with motor or transmission it will cost you big time if you don't have that. So far mine has been a pleasure to own & drive & the Audi service is up there with Lexus, can't do enough gor you.
