    If you have the screen on car play. When you turn your car off will it go back to the oem display or is there a way to make car play the priority.

      Hello, the OEM screen is always the priority in aftermarket add on, we are not able to override the initial start up sequence. You can easily switch over once the CarPlay/Android auto us connected. Thank you

    Does it really work on the Audi a3 2013? because apple carplay has been available for Audi since 2015, or did they pull the necessary cables from the factory for previous model years.

    Also the harness cable since there is not enough space behind the cd drive unit. Should I just original connector from behind the glove box and connect it to the provided harness?

    Hi, I did this and it was successful, but now all the lights inside the car isn't working (front and rear dome lights, glove box light, door lights) do u have any idea what happened? I have checked the fuse but they are all good

      I had the same thing happen with mine, you have to change the fuse from 5amp to 10amp. It will tell you which is the correct spot in the owners manual.

      You need to change the fuse to higher amps

    I installed this but my rear camera doesn't auto switch from carplay mode when I shift to Reverse. I have to manually switch back to original car mode by Nav/Media button to see the rear camera. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

    Hi, I am installing my car play system and I switch the car on the wireless system works and my phone recognises that it's in car play however I don't get any display on the screen it just stays on the audi screen, music comes through but I get no picture wondering if i have missed a step thanks

      You can get an adapter for the main cable and it should let you have a sub

    I have a 2016 S3 with Bang & Olufsen. Doesnt work for me because there is not spot to plug the optical fiber cable.

      Fiber optic cable is sometimes located on a different spot. We go off by MMI version software that these cars come with. I'm 100% sure we have something that is compatible with your car.

    Hi! I have put the interface in the car but it did not get the sound to work. Neither connecting only to the mmi via Bluetooth, nor connecting only to the carplay via Bluetooth, nor to both at the same time... any solution?

      Hello, you need to plug the AMI cable that came with the unit into the port in the armrest, it does not need to be plugged into anything else. You need to switch the selection to AUX for sound.       If you are referring to the key that removes the radio out I highly doubt it. You need access to the back of the radio unit for this to work.

    Why is there no system that works with standard audio without the aux stuff? And I guess it's not great having to navigate without touch screen when you want to search for a location...

      Hello, adding CarPlay to older vehicles we will have constraints when it only has one AUX source. We have to work with what Audi has provided. We find the easiest way is to use Siri or Google assistant to look up address info. We wish Audi would have added touchscreen to these top tier vehicles, however they did not, so we have to work with what they have provided. Thank you for the comment!
