Hikoki is my go too ( Metabo HPT here in the states) the Multivolt system is amazing, cord or cordless man, you cant beat it! I have the Multivolt Table saw, it’s super skookum!

I've gone through 2 of these in 3 years. My first one cracked the fence casting because the saw fell to one side after setting onto my bench. It took 3 months to get back and has been in storage ever since because i bought a second one to continue working. My second one has lasted 2 years and I am retiring it to spare parts because the tolerances are too loose now, regardless of how much i tighten and adjust everything.
For the price i'm not satisfied at the longevity of it. All my Hitachi branded tools from when hikoki first went 36v in aus has been flawless in comparison to the dropsaw.

This is a really nice review and a good insight into the saw. Did you ever do a follow up after using it for the more detailed work?

Good review mate. First time I have come across your channel so I'll subscribe.
I'm interested to see how these Hikoki tools stand up to constant abuse, I work a lot in underground construction and the environment is extremely hot, sometimes high moisture rate and the tools take a beating. Be nice to see some of the cheaper brands produce a tool that can withstand the beating.
Thanks for your review!. Keep them up!.

Hey Aaron, thanks for subscribing to the channel 👍 Sounds like you have an interesting job, I think the HIKOKI brand would stand up well uder ground 👌

Good review, by a guy on site which is more credible than a "here's me in my diy shed with a new toy" article.
One question: Is it a single laser or twin, and if single, is it on the left, right, centre, adjustable?
I've got a festool Kapex mitre saw which is nigh perfect but it doesn't like cutting tanalised 2x8's. I'm wondering if I need one of these Hitachi jobs for framing and roofing, and keep my German girl for 2nd fix

I've got a Kapex myself and am in a similar boat, I only use for fix out work not framing. I've been having a look at this Hikoki saw wondering if it would be a good saw for framing. Being cordless is a great feature for small jobs where you don't want to have to run a lead out and I like it that you can also run it off the mains with the AC adaptor, the new cordless 36v Hikoki table saw also looks great too.

@@macdonaldjohnstonfan I bought the Hikoki. It is more than good enough for framing jobs. Single laser, lhs, but it also has an led light for when you are working in the shadows-helps keep track of fingers. You will want to replace the Hitachi blade, as they aren't too good.
The AC adapter is ok if you have mains available, but is not acceptable on a 110v site.
I went with a dewalt stand which goes out to 8' each side-do miss the scales on the kapex stand.
I've not seen the hikoki table saw, but with the 36v mitre saw, 36v circle saw, and the cordless nail gun, hikoki provide a really good system for framers and general carpentry.
Also, on site, unlike the festool, you aren't scared to turn your back on it

How did the saw workout with accuracy mate? Moving from straight to 45 or bevel cut etc doing multiple cuts and then moving back to a straight cross cut, is the detent plate accurate or do you have retune the saw often? Tx Jason

How has the saw been during the rest of the build? I had some concern about head deflection when I tried the saw.

Other brands throw in a stand for that price, it should have one or at least a battery for $1100+ . Some nice features, like the slide being forward but the rust is a big issue.

In Britain this saw is about £550-£600 with a charger and a couple of 4/8Ah batteries

@@rossbuchanan7632 Same price as ours then but we miss out on a couple of hundred $$ worth of batteries.
