Devil's onigiri is invented by a Japanese chef (couldn't figure the spelling of his name). It was created from leftover food (Because the chef do not like food wastage) from the previous day, used to celebrate the success of the 57th Japanese Antarctic research expedition. The reason why it is called devil's onigiri is because it is very high in calories, but you cannot stop eating it, like what the packaging says, "it's addictive". I vaguely saw it on another TH-cam video done by Rie and Andrew from tasty.
can u make a video of what are the best sauces and condiments at donki? i get confused because there's so many choices. just tsuyu soy sauce and there's so many types!
The happiness you showed while biting into the food is so contagious, I find myself smiling throughout the video! I don't usually watch food reviews because they tend to be overly well-framed but this was so down to earth and natural, it was such an enjoyable watch. Can't wait to check out your recommendations myself!
It has been several years since I have been to Singapore, but I really enjoy watching your videos from Hawaii. Hoping to make it out there in a year or two with my family. So interesting to see how Singapore and the food and entertainment scene is developing there. I also love your mannerisms when you are eating and genuinely enjoying things. You strike as the Japanese/Singaporean version of Food Ranger. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for sharing! I love going to Donki for grocery shopping if I'm in the mood for making a Japanese meal! I hope we get a vaccinated travel lane with Japan soon once the situation gets better there.
Yes!!! I love the omusoba set, and I can get a whole platter of the takoyaki! thanks for sharing about takosen. mind-blown! i love the drink concentrates. the salty lychee and the calpis ones are great. can do an episode on meidi-ya too perhaps?
Thank you for showing us how to enjoy Japanese food. Most of the time the packaging is not in English and so maybe you can teach us the various sauces that we Singaporeans can incorporate into our own day to day food.
The yakiniqu is really tasty. The other thing I really like at my Donki is the fried chicken. They have 2 types, regular fried chicken and one with a sauce on it. Both are very good, costs about ¥500 for about 8 small chicken pieces Ghib, thanks for the video!
@Ghib Ojisan, Gotta try that takoyaki sandwich!!! INcredible! Super interested about that small bodied guitar in the background- saw it on your Studio Ghbli cover video also- whats the story behind that?
OMG! I've seen japanese food guide videos and I saw the takosen !! Always wonder how it taste like. Okay! I'm gonna get some ebisen+ takoyaki and make it at home!! :D thanks for the trick 😄😄
Do u try making ur own udon using donki condiment? example there are different type of soup base ? can u show us how to use those as well becuz there are countless of condiment in donki
Love these recommedations/introduction videos! By the way, try not to use metal thongs and utensils on non-stick material. Once scratched, the pans are said to be toxic.
I've pretty much avoided the Karamen from Marutai as authentic Karamen is supposed to be using Konnyaku Men but I'll give it a try next time for the soup.
Hey Ghib-San, you have been to Keisuke before, but do you know they also served roasted barley tea outside some of their restaurants? As for natto, I recommend the S907 Sugoi Natto!
oh ghib, u r the devil! craving for yakiniku and kara men. oh i remember drinking cold mugicha in asakusa. shiokkkkk if u wana feature isetan, faster go parkway parade before it close for good.
rental is very high in sigapore , hope donki can be long here. just few years ago (nothing to do with coivd), at least 2 BIG jabanese chains, "tokyu hands" and "franc franc" opened in jurong east also, due to very high rental and poor business, both closed shop just within 1.5 year !
Each time I visit Donki I tell myself just taking a look not buying things Check out at the counter with $60 90 bills: what the f.......... In the previous video you introduce the Orange Tea and right after that video I bought like a box of it to stock up LOL I recommend the Peach one also!
Love how he eats at every other table except the dining table

When I get access to natto, have always tried to have it with steaming hot rice and soy sauce, but I add a bit of pepper and sesame oil.
The omusoba is so salty it pairs perfectly well with kirin beer!! Try these 2 together~

The way he laugh at the takoyaki + ebisen shows its good...
I would always get their Tuna and some of the anime wafer and maybe some of their Dons too
Enjoy your videos .

THE EBISEN IS A TAKO TACO!
柚子胡椒はお鍋料理にも合います。
Food Heaven
Those Donki house-brand teabags are some of the cheapest in SG I think. 50+ bags and each bag is enough to brew 750ml or so.
I eat the devil onigiri with salmon sashimi SO GOOD.
I hope I can find ebisen in my International markets around here. Get some take out takoyaki and chow down!

カルディ、いい例え!まさにそんな感じです笑
I should learn to eat this kind of thing before find a Japanese girlfriend 😁😁🤦🏻
