After watching Culinary Class Wars, I have a lot of respects for Chef Ahn. I love the high and strict standards that he has for every dish putting out by the chefs. I enjoy this segment very much, learn more about him and his background that shaped him into who he is today. I totally can relate with what he said about Hong Kong’s movies and dramas influence growing up as a kid. Would definitely love to try one of his restaurants at some point if I have a chance.
Im from the Philipines And I started to admire this guy 100% So talented, so smart Give this guy more project aside from culinary class wars - genuine comment here I hope it will reach to Chef Ahn Sung-jae
Great interview. It’s very clear Chef Ahn’s standard comes from a place of passion, dedication, and, most of all, his love of cooking food that people could enjoy with every bite. He is also a great family man. This definitely shows up in the culinary class wars when he is judging the food. Mosu is definitely on the list of restaurants I would like to try when I am Seoul or Hong Kong. Kudos the interviewer for curating this interview and asking Chef Ahn some tough questions.
I like how eloquent he is.. I'm more amazed of him now. I like his mindset of the cultural thing and fusion of culture and influence in food throughout the years. It's rare to find someone with same artistic mindset, I also came from hospitality industry and I agree with what he said. It's all about the guests experience. He deserves to be a three stars Michelin
Hello, Arirang Tv. I was looking forward to see Mr Ann in a TV show. Thank you for the beautiful time, and i hope to meet mr Edward Lee in this show. Thank you!
amazing interview, perfect questions from the host that really showcasing the guest intelligent..... no wonder chef ahn got 3 michelin stars, he is indeed very smart, amazing understanding about things and really can speak well about what's in his mind to make the audience/customer understand his point of view about things, I believe these traits what makes him earn 3 stars... amazing chef!
Amazing chef and very well spoken. It's insane how much experience he has with multicultural cuisine. I'm from SF and sad that he moved his restaurant to Korea.
@@Shadowboost Do you have any recommendations? I've only gone to Benu and Quince (among restaurants with 2+ stars) and was wondering if you have any standouts in your mind. Atelier Crenn maybe?
Chef! I can imagine the taste and textures and layers of flavour in all that you have described because i am familiar with all the ingredients that go into your Abalone Taco. Well done!!!
Not to take away from this dude, but he worked at some of the top restaurants in the US. That's the key to learn out of the box techniques. He worked at Urasawa (Beverly Hills), French Laundry (Napa), Benu (SF) and Aziza (SF).
Manifesting Ahn Sungjae to be one of the guest judge for both MasterChef Australia 2025 (Season 17): Back To Win and MasterChef USA 2025 (Season 15): Culinary Duos. He's got a big break on a Netflix Originals program Culinary Class Wars where he's one of the judge.
Anyone can explain to me why Ahn seung jae is the first korean who got michelin three stars??? How about Corey Lee?? Is it different because the country?? Is it different because the country the Michelin Star competition is depends on where it is held? The example likes if you're korean and won the michelin three stars in Japan, you will be named First Michelin Star Three Japan?
suddenly, I forgot he was speaking english and was like "wow I'm understanding fully korean" 😂😂
lol so true took me 4mins to realize i actually understood what theyre saying even without subs hahahaha
me too like wait I can understand him.... took me a while to realise he's speaking English 😅
Lmfao
This comment got me...I Also thought I was understanding Korean now😂😂😂
Not just an outstanding chef, so articulate and well spoken as well! I'm seriously impressed by this guy!
I so agree. I enjoyed this interview and learning about his culinary background. Appreciate that it was done in English too.
This chef was the reason I enjoyed culinary class so much!!
I went to Mosu in Seoul once last year. Every dish was excellent but there were two that were so good they made me cry.
Wow, it must be an incredible moment, what are those two menu?
I need to get high af for me to cry, or maybe it's beyond my understanding
Who’s end up here after watching Culinary Class Wars? ✋🏻

Chef Ahn Sung-jae speaks eloquently and with extreme precision. It's no wonder he's a 3 star Michelin chef.

한국에서의 도전도 멋지지만 SF 모수로 원스타 받았을 시기는 SF가 미국 미식 도시로서 전성기에 베스트 식당들 한정 뉴욕도 넘는 기세였는데 정말 대단합니다
SF cuisine is still world class. Fewer places than some other cities, but every bit still as inventive as ever

Of course, why would that take anything away from him. Not everyone who trained at those restaurants has 3 Michelin stars.

계속 3스타 유지하려면 얼마나 힘들까... 힘들어서 휴업한거임? ㅎ 나라도 재충전 필요할 듯... 미슐랭들 언제 들이닥칠지 모른담서요?
It's extremely difficult. Even to reach 3 is legendary. To maintain, world class
