We did some tours with Hate Eternal around 15 years ago and Erik brought a full bench and weights in their van and would workout before every show outside. Was fucking awesome haha
My dude, that's earthshaking. You took the already great sounding original mix and brought it up to a whole new level. I installed UHD yesterday and will update my templates today. Anyone who wasn't sure if they wanna get it, will be certain after watching this. That's gotta be the best mix I have heard in a long, long time 🙌🤘🤘
For Burn My Eyes, they recorded using a Marshall cab with Greenbacks.. After that, they switched to 1960BV's (with the 70 watt G12-Vintages), which they still use.
Josh, thank you for all that you do for us and the music world in general. You have made a huge contribution to the development of heavy industry and music in general. In Russia, you are loved and appreciated for what you do
Amazing, very cool video. Thank you Josh! And a very cool series of tone recreations. I have been racking my brains for many years over the tone of bullet for my valentine, maybe you will succeed? from the albums poison, scream aim fire. Colin Richardson and Andy Sneap create magic.
The default kit has a similar vibe. Check out this video Jamie Slays did where Shanon Lucas played drums in on an electric kit th-cam.com/users/shortsinuBa_zbQvg
Are you playing in actual drop B or the slightly sharp drop B MH uses? Would love for you guys to do an actual MH cover since you guys share a tuning now, something like “I Am Hell” would be sooo sick!
I wonder why I'd call low and high pass the opposite zone. I'd always put some reverb on the whole drums group, kicks included, the annoying frequencies makes it more realistic. I don't know. Namastè.
amazing. The drum programming alone had to be quite the undertaking. the cymbals are louder on the real cd though. also curious why you played it a half step lower
I'm wondering why they chose the rhythm channel over the lead channel. Honestly, I thought they used the lead channel, as I didn't think the rhythm channel with a clean boost would sound even half that good. 😎🤘
Def. amp sims have been used. Some palm mutes were missed. With amp sims it is a bit challenging to simulate the "springy" nature of the way strings attack the pre-amp. This is one of the first metal songs I heard on MTV (when it came out)... Headbangers Ball anyone? 🤔

Machine Head Davidian + Hate Eternal T shirt!! Totally made my day!! Also that guitar tone truly crushing!!

Of course this comes out the day I finish mixing my Blood For Blood cover 😂 guitars sound incredible here!
Tight as always, Josh!
the drums are SPOT ON!
Great Sound
Do some Hate Eternal Conquering the Throne mix recreations. Like Spiritual Holocaust. Totally underrated album for how good the mix is.
This just needs one emoji … 💪
Bonus points for the Hate Eternal t-shirt as well. 👊
Show Josh..machine Head..OLD School..👍
Killer work homie.
Damn, my favorite and most talented guitarist (Josh) playing my old school favorite band (MH) ... What are the odds? :D
Amazing drum sounds!
Love how you can load up Ultimate Heavy Drums and do minimal tweaking to establish the sound! 🤘🤘
Please consider doing “Ten Ton Hammer”!
Hey Josh, have you a plan on releasing/selling templates of your mixes?
Ah, I see Josh watched the Coffee with Ola video and played the riff correctly. 😄
Really well done dude! 🔥🤘🔥
I've been using GGD P4 since it came out and it does everything I need and sounds amazing, but damn this is tempting.

Owlysheeettt!!!🔥
Nice Josh nice 👌
Sounds sick!
I love these drums! What presets or kit pieces would you use if you were going for a Black Dahlia sound? Specifically from Nocturnal.

Just listened to the original after this video, the original is definitely tuned noticeably higher than Josh’s rendition.
Yeah, I think they used drop B tuned to 450 if I remember right
drop B +40 cent, no?
Sounds so good Josh! Just one question, is the MDL drum plugin just on one stereo track? Looks like it was but just wanted to check?
i was just thinking about you
I have your plugin and your IRs. You have the best sounding Marshall v30 cab !

your playing sounds tighter than the original
No clicks on those early records
@@joefx69 this. proper energy.
Dude. Thank you for this! What velocity range do you normally use for the punkbass and MDL drums?
Nice job! Similar master bus to Mick Gordon too.
Hard

Fuckin sick mane
Waiting for a day where josh do trivium’s tone
Josh, do you have standard gain on your fishmans or have you lowered the gain with the jumper?
Hate eternal🤘🤘🤘🤘
Actually, better question.. would you be able to provide the stems and midi for this track? Maybe on your patreon? Wanna take a stab at mixing this!
I'm pretty sure Adam plays Spector Basses these day's
You considering any MIDI packs for UHD?
There are MIDI grooves included but will be more packs to come as well yeah 🤙🏻
@@JoshMiddletonOfficial Oh shit, I somehow missed them 😅 awesome
"2:30" is visible in Cubase, some plugins are running on the drum track. Can you tell us what else was used? :)
I usually have Fabfilter Pro Q 3 running so I can look at the EQ curves of what I'm doing
What gauge did you use, considering it's not a baritone? 64 or something like that?
11-56. Maybe a 60 for the low string
Alright, now do Heartwork
Cymbals are so quiet tho
feels weird to see josh play a dropped tuning guitar

lol…oh…ok
