All of them sounded great, but frostbite was the best to my ear... a 50mph gear down and boogie sound comparison would have been nice as well, or a blast through a tunnel or parking garage is always fun, nothing like seeing how many alarms we can set off : ]
I have true dual original 40s with long tubes on my 90, sounds amazing mid level loud and exhaust pipes shoot air a solid 6 ft, but the true dual magnaflow on my 89 does the trick for me, cats resonators and mufflers nothing but quiet muscle tone
I grew up when Flowmasters ran the streets before just cutting the muffler off was a big thing. Still not a fan of straight pipes for the street. Growing up when i heard a vehicle with a Flowmaster drive by I assumed it was more powerful than a vehicle that didn't have it.
I love the C/K trucks too I have a 78 K10 shortbed fleetside with a 350 SM465 205 35s and flowmaster 40s 86 military blazer M1009 6.2 diesel TH400 3.08s on 33s and a 89 Foxbody ex Georgia State Patrol SSP mustang with the flowmaster 44s and a 94 Corvette 70 k miles all original other than Borla mufflers and it's a garage Queen and nearly showroom immaculate .

Do you know what piping size you're running on Frostbite? I have full length headers with 2" piping going into Magnaflow mufflers and it sounds nothing like yours. Frostbite sounds usually what I hear with BBC engines with Magnaflows.

I used to have a 98 Taurus SHO V8 with magnaflow mufflers. That car sounded amazing. People would turn their heads and be shocked it was a Taurus. Had an 86 Trans Am with magnaflows that sounded good too. Also had a 91 camaro with Flowmasters that sounded awesome and an 89 GMC Sierra with Flowmasters. I think certain mufflers sound better with certain engine configurations. I like Flowmasters, but I love magnaflows. However, generally speaking, if you want to play it safe and just want the car to sound good, go Flowmaster.

Frostbite sounds like she has glasspacks, yuck. I still have the Flowmaster 40s on my K5, H pipe to two 40s at either side from when I first got her with the stock 350 and Hooker headers, I put in a 383 stroker with 226/228 cam on 110 LSA and it sounded like baldeagles back in the day. Now she has a stock 5.3L ls with stock manifolds in her with the same 40s and exhaust, piecing together a cam kit as we speak. I can't wait to hear her resurrected on a lopey idle.
I myself go back and forth on getting rid of those mufflers on Frosty. I know it would sound amazing with some 40 series mufflers. Sounds like you k5 had had some good motors in it. How long have you owned it?
I never understood why bring pipes out the side in front of the back tires. I would think the wind would push hot exhaust right into the back tires, adding more heat to the tires. I'm in Texas though and don't need more heat on tires. IDK, maybe I'm wrong.
You think the magnaflow would be quieter if coming out the back instead of the side? I really like the sound but I would like to hear the radio while cruising.

The truck is a little rowdy with the cam. It is dual 2.5 inch exhaust.

I wouldn’t put the flowmasters on the white one because it makes your vehicles have a variety of sounds you hear when you drive them

I don't know if I will miss a few horsepower if it sounds the way I want. I know they don't flow as well as the magnaflow or gibson.

If you had to buy American made only, which exhaust option would you go with?
For me it is easy. Flowmaster. It is the sound I grew up loving. Do other exhaust flow better? I would bet yes vs the chambered muffler I like.
@@NVSRides I need to call Flowmaster directly, because I'm reading plenty of articles online that suggest they are now Manufacturing in China.
One other thing to consider is your rpm at cruising speed. If you at our around 2k they can drone really bad. That is the biggest downfall of them.

I have 67 C10 6inline truck and i need a good exthouse sound which is similar to v8 engine.
I have no experience really with exhaust on these motors. I would try and look up others who have it with mufflers. Flowmaster might be a good choice.

It would help a bit but overdrive would as well. They mellow out a bit while cruising but my rpms are high at any kinda speed.
