I had not thought about sticking out the dirt out of an area like that and replacing it also when it's not in a raised bed. That would be great cuz some of the watering what keeps some of the vegetables around watered as well. Thank you we're always learning and getting new ideas from you. Thanks again

YES! AWESOME! I have wondered so many times why you guys don't just build frames to do just this very thing! It would make it so easy for you to hang up shade fabrics and keeps air flow in the heat of summer and then change it out or a nice cover for the winter nights that you have to deal with on an episodic inconsistency BIG THUMBS UP MAN!

Happy Fourth of July Shamus. Very logical reasoning how about putting all your tropicals in one area so that you can protect them more easily. Glad I watched this before I spread them all over my property
    Time well spent.

Shamus,if you visit again hawai make an update of the high density mango plantation video that you made 7 months ago.also your high density plantation that you made some months ago.I have some avocados here, zone 10b, (Greece island Crete),that are doing fine, we have here at Chania succesfully growing them for over 50 years. I started a HD mango plantation in an unheated greenhouse(to be sure for winter issues) including some jackfruit and rollinias and i want to see in the future comparing with yours and others the growing situation.thank you !

How are your mangoes doing in the greenhouse?

Haha! He described exactly what I did 3-4 years straight.
Went nuts and turned my backyard in a tropical fruit forest.
Have lost most of my trees to freezes not frost!
Frost cloth does not work for a freeze even with a heater. Heat escapes thru frost cloth.
I have a 12x12 enclosure wrapped it with frost cloth. Added patio heater! mango tree and 3 year old Longan tree still died after a 4 day freeze

Fantastic idea ... moreover the dried banana leaves on the ground.

I have a tropical zone that I covered and heated previously, except that the bananas and papayas got too tall for effective covering last year.

You're watering them too much. Probably they're skinny. If you're not hot and humid water only every 10 or 15 days

To confirm the size of the yard is 12 feet by 10 feet? What's the distance between the trees?

Do you ever use sulfur for PH? I've had luck with raised bed PH lowering. It just takes a month or so for the compounds to break down.

Great tips Shamus, I’m glad this video came up on my feed. I’m planning to plant my lemon and lime trees in the grown.
