i am totally new to boardgames that are so difficult and thank you very much for the calm and instuctive information, loved it and are now a new subscriber.
I seem to have been living under the stone because I have never heard of this game but, After the Empire seems to play exactly the same as The great wall, except instead of everyone defending the same wall each player has his own castle to defend, that brings me to the next question ... Because each player has his own castle what is the wait/downtime like? do players have to wait long for their turn in the combat phase, also is each section of the combat resolved for all players at once? I am considering of getting this game but people in my gaming group hate games with long downtime, and because of that, For example, even though everyone loves The Euthia no one wants to play it because the player's combat turn is so long that 3rd and 4th players literally fall asleep waiting for their turn... I am also not clear on movement bonus tokens, is it one token per 1 solder to move or one token can move/ re-arrange any amount of soldiers? Great video thank you for taking the time to make it ...
Awesome tutorial! I hope to play this game tonight, but there is one thing i am not 100% sure about, and that i the movement tokens. When do I use them? And I can move one soldier or mercenary per token, right?
Yes, you spend 1 token per troop (soldier or mercenary) from one spot to another. Check out the 29:54 mark. At the start of the combat preparation phase you allocate your troops before knowing where all the invaders will be coming from. Then at the end of the preparation phase (after you have resolved all the invader/siege cards by adding them to you player map), you can spend those movement tokens to reposition your troops.
I thought when a farm was damaged it downgraded from 2 production to 1 production. Destroyed if already at 1 production. Then the granary lets us upgrade or reinstate if destroyed as it were.
EXCELLENT job on your explanation! Designer approved!
Thanks for making such a FUN game!

Very good video, only the pronunciation of turret was throwing me off each time 😉

The kickstarted version is better with the minis
Random q: how big is your table. It seams the right size for the games I want to play
What if invading Archers have no troops to shoot at on my walls...do they attack the turrets and walls and move in to sack the castle?
Archers do no damage in Archery if there are no troops on the wall, but will still do melee damage against the wall like swordsmen invaders.
Thanks. I look forward to more how to play vids. Great job!
